If u want to root ur phone then i would suggest u to flash the 'Siyah kernel v4.1.5 or v5.0.1 (Tar file for ODIN), this would root ur phone and also install 'SuperSu' and the latest CWM recovery.

1)dwnld the latest ICS firmware and insatll the same thro ODIN
2)find matching CF-root kernel and flash the same thro odin to root ur phone since installing stock ics will unroot ur phone
3)then dwnld the .tar file of latest siyah kernel and flash the same thro odin
ps- while flashing thro odin ensure the USB debugging is turned on

No, the latest Siyah kernel's will not wrk on ur GB
its better for u to upgrade ur phone to ICS 4.0.3 then re-root it using siyah kernel, after that u can install any custom Rom of ur choice

then why my local device cant upgrade TT i try x time to push the check update button but it just show no update available . ANY HELP ?

I have just need some help.
I got a s2 4.0.4 (no root) and would like to install the disaster custom rom.
Because i have 4.0.4 and can brick my phone i need some helps/tips..
So as i understand i need cwm to flash the custom rom.
To get cwm i need root. Well, which root methode should i use?
I want one with cwm and supersu in it.
Oh, and after i have root on the 4.0.4 and flash the 4.1.2 custom rom do i keep my root?

Just dwnld the 'Siyah kernel v4.1.5 or v5.0.1' (tar file for ODIN) and flash the same thro 'Odin' on ur pc.
It will automatically Root ur phone and install 'SuperSu' and latest CWM recovery for u.
then using the cwm recovery of siyah kernel u can flash any custom rom of ur choice.
after flashing the custom rom based on 4.1.2 u wont loose ur root
ps- once u install custom kernel like siyah ur phone will be safe from the 'Brick Bug' issue for sure

Yes, u can flash it and the Kernel (philz) that comes with that rom will replace ur Siyah kernel for sure but u wont loose ur root
it will not have any effect on u though
do follow the install instruction for a successfull flash of the rom.

I flashed SuperNexus 2.0 and Siyah kernel on my phone. And after flashing the kernel there are several errors, some processes doesn't work anymore and mobile working very slow Like in slow motion
Does anybody have the same problems?

which siyah version u flashed is it v6.0b4, alternatively try flashing Dorimanx v7.43 and see

there is no need to root the kernel ma8
just dwnld the Zip file from the link below and flash the same from Recovery, the same way u flashed the supernexus rom
after flasing the kernel just reboot ur phone

Dude unable to go in recovery because getting again and again System stop error

i used the flash zip file via stock recovery method.. nope never oc or undervolt too im on I9100XXLQ6. build no.IMM76D.XWLPY

Hope u must also be aware that the stock 4.0.4 kernel does come with that infamous 'Brick Bug' issue for now(any wipes done in stock recovery of 4.0.4 might brick ur phone)
All i would Suggest is to use a Custom kernel like 'Siyah v4.1.5' which is brickbug free on ur phone running stock 4.0.4 for now to be on the safer side.
and also after installing the same (siyah kernel) u can use its recovery to do wipe's to bring stability and get rid of SOD (sleep of Death) for now
