Recipe app - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I'm looking for a good recipe app that I can consolidate recipes that I have and ones I find online. Does anyone know of a good app for that? Also want to be able to back up the database on it as well.

check this app out. its very nice with lots of features

Allrecipe is a good one but not sure how to save your own (but I'm sure you can). Although I know you can add your own recipe to the database, so that's always an option. It's got some good filters to search recipes as well as a pretty cool recipe spinner.

I have used several recipe apps, and have found Paprika to be absolutely awesome. Seriously, worth the money.
They have Android, iOS, and a Mac desktop app. Both phone and tablet optimized. Cloud sync between them. You can add recipes automatically from many websites, or manually add them. But the real helpful feature is the grocery list. Click any recipe and then hit add to grocery list, and you are good to go to the store to pick up ingredients. You can also manually add groceries, and it divides groceries up by category. The list is also cloud synced if you are using multiple devices. Also allows backup.
Oh, and the app looks great too.

Trying Chef Tap right now. So far this app is great. The import feature is working perfectly and is exactly what I've been looking for.
With Paprika, do you know if there is a trial app? Don't know that I want to fork out $5 before I give it a test run.

Unfortunately I don't think so. It looks like Chef Tap has similar features. I ended up with Paprika because I have an android phone, iPad, and my wife has an iPhone. Paprika lets us sync across all those devies. So Chef Tap might work for ya', but if you find a spare $5 laying around, Paprika is still pretty awesome!

I have an iPad too. So the fact that Paprika syncs across platforms may be the reason for a jump. Will definitely have to consider it with that feature alone.. Thanks

Evernote is a great one for that. It has browser extensions. Then there's Evernote Food to go along with it. Look into it. It is very powerful and the apps are great.

Thanks, awesome find! I spent a few hours getting about 40 something of my recipes in here. So awesome! Love it.

ChefTap and Paprika are both excellent apps.

Another vote for Paprika

Best weather app?

What weather app do you guys think is the best? I am wanting to find a cool 3D weather app but I do not want to install a bunch of crap while looking for a decent one.
Beautiful widgets is always a really nice one. Not only that but it's very customizable to your preferences and such. Or in my experience Palmary weather pro is another good one.
Hopefully you can get some other opinions as well.

Beautiful widgets is what I use and well worth the $3

I appreciate the replies. I will give those a shot and see which one I like the best.
I picked up weatherbug when it was being offered free on Amazon's app store (they can call it that now, take that apple!). Can't say its indispensable but it does a pretty good job for what it it....

Man, when was that? I must've slept through that deal.... I would've gotten it.
I purchased Beautiful Widgets and I am very impressed so far. Well worth the $3 I spent.
I think Fancy Widget Pro is a good one. I picked it up from amazon when it was a free app of the day. You can also can get choose from many different skins to make very customized. It works with weather bug to get its info.

Looks rockin, but appears it may have a big learning curve. Looks like it has a crap ton of interactions. Can't wait to try that.

that's awesome looking, it has a retarded amount of features and ways to modify the layout, it's gonna be a sick launcher.
This is gonna blow my mind on the Note. Thanks for sharing.
I watched videos of this UI 2 yrs ago before Blackberry bought the company, Tat UI I think. Guess the BB deal fell thru??
Yea i saw this a while ago it looks cool though

Thanks for the heads up, I'm really looking for a launcher to do separate portrait and landscape modes, I've heard of Sweeter Home 2 or ssLauncher, but really was hoping for a well know launcher to support this, any ideas?
Has anyone seen this thing work as a launcher? The video showed lots of set up stuff. With all the features and animation it might be laggy. I guess we'll see next week.
This is good code, wish it was out now. Will definately purchase.

i bet this will be a huge battery intensive launcher although I do admit it does look pretty cool.
So the website is down now. Maybe to prepare for the launch?
Yeah, website not working for launch day. Oh well. Nothing really new but this launcher sure gives you everything in one package. Wow! It would be nice to take a look at it.
it will not come out until tonight stated on their blog so that might be this afternoon for us!
It's up for sale. $16.80!!!!
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tsf.shell
yeah I dont know if I will be spending that on this... it has to be more resource intensive than the standard TWLauncher. if not I would be surprised.....

Ringtone Shuffler

Is there such program besides this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.gx5.ringtoneshufflerpaid&hl=en
The one above hasn't been updated in two years. I have a lot of ringtones and would like to hear a different one every time someone calls me. I'm not willing to drop $3 on an app that hasn't been updated in 2 years though.
And if there isn't such app will someone be willing to make such app? I would be more than happy to pay a reasonable price for an app like that.

I use Tasker. But it's pricey if that's all you would use it for. Good app though. A learning curve to it too.

Good question! That is from their television advertisement. You would think it would be an obvious feature.
Perhaps with this upgrade to Samsung S-apps?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvH6vbhOs6Y&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I think everyone who bought a Note asked themselves the very same question. The S apps in the commercial seem to be quite a bit better than what they actually delivered.

I think the fish drawing app was zigzag board. I see videos of it demoed on the note, but can't find where to get it. Seems like maybe they pulled Android support.

This seems vaguely similar bit doesn't seem to do over internet collaboration...I'm gonna look for more https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=greengar.white.board.pro
Edit-Groupboard looks interesting. Supposedly does collaborative drawing over the net! Gonna see what its like and report back. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grouptechnologies.groupboard

Yeah, but I'm not putting much faith in that, since its been demoed and on commercials forever.
I had good luck with groupboard. Just go to the demo board. Go to connect then find boards, then who's on. It has chat and seems to be fairly real time. Only issue is to change drawing options have to go to separate tab. Also doesn't seem to support pressure or have nice brushes.
I think you can make your own board for up to five people for free. Notice the progression on the demo board lol!

It looks like the picture is showing the phones photo gallery, you can do a Google search for "line drawings" download them and just color them in with the pen.

Yeah, but the video/ad shows two notes collaboratively coloring in the photo together. I think that's what OP is talking about, not just coloring in some kids drawings by himself but coloring drawings with a friend. Lol.

Craigs Notifica?

Used to be a great Craigslist app. Notified you when something matched one of your searches. Seems the developer is no more or isn't developing. I still use it as it's the best app out there. Problem now is that it only displays pictures. No text. Wondering if any devs know anything or if anyone knows of a good alternative.
Thanks!
Don't know of an app but ifttt.com can send you emails of all new matches for your searches. I've used it many times, works really well.

It is the same app. But the text in the ads doesn't show up anymore. Before it had both pictures and text. Love it still, but it's a pain. Ha.
Yeah, or it'll show sum Txt, but not all. I've trained hubby to just click on the peace sign to go directly to the online ad. It's the notification that matters. So, we have to work around it, I guess....

Yeah. It's still the best one out there. Just wish I knew a dev who could take a peek at it. I can't imagine it would be too hard to get the text to pull.
