I'm coming from an iPhone and even though i love my new SGS2 the only negative i find is typing. I loved the iPhone keyboard and I'm trying to get a similar experience. So far I'm using Smart Keyboard pro with iPhone skin but even though it's pretty close i cant get the same feeling because the screen is not as sensitive. i have to press the space bar twice sometimes to register.
is there a way i can make the screen more sensitive?
Or if not is there another keyboard that will make my typing experience more similar to the iPhone one?
Thank you.

Very interesting but unfortunately it only supports English language. I also need Greek support.
thanks for the answer though.

Can anyone tell me at least if its possible or point me to the right direction?
If you're genuinely having to hit keys twice sometimes just to get them to register then I'd actually question whether there's an issue with your handset because I've never heard of that happening before on this phone or any of the previous Android handsets I've used.

There's nothing wrong with my handset. Just coming from an iPhone you hardly even have to touch the screen for the keystroke to register. If you had used an iPhone you would know what I'm talking about. Ive reed somewhere that the SGS2 has the same capabilities and that with the right settings it can register a keystroke from 1mm away from the screen. But i don't know where to find this settings.
No one can at least tell me if its possible or not so i can stop looking?

as far as im aware there is no way of adjusting the capacative sensitivity, IMO though (coming from iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and Desire HD) the SGS2 screen is just as good if not better. slightest touches register instantly and think its an amazing screen !
if your problem really is as you suggest, i think there is a problem with the capacative screen and may need to get it repaired
I need an extra push, I'm hoping to find it here.
I'm coming from a Galaxy S2. There are two things I will have to live without, can anyone tell me if I should be worried?
1. The lack of a menu and search button.
2. Not having the ability to take out the battery.
On another note, I was wondering if someone could confirm if it's possible to remove the HTC Sense? The first thing I plan on doing is rooting it and removing basically any software HTC and AT&T add. One other question.. does anyone know if the IR can be setup to use custom commands, or if that's something we have to wait for developers?
I don't have much to add on here except the search button is so two years ago. No need to have that button there with the advent of long pressing and double tapping.

Most people that cry about batteries are usually closet Samsung fanboys. The ability to "take out the battery" is a bit overrated. Sorry but I don't have any need to add a brick to the back of my phone just so I can show off some "amazing battery stats"

Actually it's nice to have a search button where if I'm in the app drawer I can tap that and search for an app. Or if I'm on the home screen it opens google now. Or on a browser, it's a quick search button. You get the idea. What's the alternative now? How do you open Google Now or search for apps quickly?

I hate the way the S4 looks, and the S3. The huge rounded corners are a big turn off. I would end up getting that if I can't put up with the limitations the one has to offer.

Actually, I don't care about that.. I can optimize android to get what I need out of it. But I do like the ability to replace it if it dies or degrades in performance in a year from now, or say.. my phone is frozen, taking out the battery is often the fastest way to turn the damn thing off. Most of my stuff is in the cloud now, so I don't see me needing to replace my SD card. But it has occationally come in handy when I want to just pop it into my laptop to transfer some large files. I'm going to miss that.
I'm usually a Samsung guy but the one is amazing. We complain about the battery being no good over time and needing the ability to swap out. However, we get the next best thing after a year or so of use then sell the current device. The one is good. I haven't even rooted yet. I can wait until we get a stock RUU.

If I have any issues with the battery I am calling Squaretrade and getting a replacement. That's the great thing about having insurance even though I am not even sure If I will be using this device for the full 2 years. Also, if you hold the power button down for 10 seconds its just like pulling the battery, but much faster.
I came from having a Galaxy SIII on Verizon, switched to ATT with a Galaxy SII Skyrocket and am now a happy camper with my One. The biggest hurdle was getting over not having the same capacitive buttons and how much faster the One is.
By no means am I a heavy user but I am sitting here with 60% battery going on just over 8 hours.
Lol I love being to put a beastly 7000 mah battery in my phone to get 3 days of battery. But if I can't, it isn't that big of a deal. Btw I'm not a Samsung fan boy, I'm a fan of whatever is the best.

On a custom rom you can map the other buttons to do a menu and maybe even a search (I'm not sure)
Holding power+vol up and down simulates pulling the battery
Right now there is not a way to remove sense, you can use 3rd party launchers for now. They are working on pure android ROMs and development will be GREAT on this device. I have owned a S2 and played with the One and the One is SWEET. (I'm still waiting for my black to arrive). I have a HTC One XL and think it is MUCH better than my S2. Just get it, You will love it. Or wait for development to grow a little to give you all those features
I love this new phone. Yes, I wish they would have built a bigger battery in there even it it would make it a little thicker and The bezels could have smaller on the sides and waaaaaaaay smaller on top and bottom. But overall, I like it, it's huge and this is what i want in a my one device. I want something that is still pocketable but as big as can possibly be (we arent there yet) and still handle my phone calls.
The software is missing a bunch of stuff. Yes, great, its not bogged down like I've been used to with Samsung, great, but come on... Why arent the software buttons customizable? Why isn't there a little button every time i hit a sound key to expand the volume menu to let me change all the different volumes (ringer/alarm/media)? I have to dig through setting to get to that... Why cant I$%#* longpress the icons in the quicksettings to bring me to the menu for that setting...
I feel like theres so much missing... a lot of things I'm used to from all the samsung phones I had. And I don't mean the gimmicky features.
A lot of these things are ideas that either google would come up with or any of the custom rom devs thought up. Samsung pays attentions and steals the good ideas for their phones... why doesn't sony??
I also with they had the knockon feature that LG has because i was used to having a button on the front and I hate having to press on the side...
I guess this doesn't matter anyway because as soon as @krabappel2548 has the main kinks worked out of the 4.4 builds, I'm jumping ship anyway. But either way, Sony really disappointed me...
FYI, I've been using these 2 apps since I got the phone, one lets you add stuff to the nav bar which is great, you cant get rid of the dedicated ones but you can put new stuff directly on top of them, And the second one is so i don't have to keep pressing the power button on the side you just wave your hand over it and it turns on (I've found that the best way to use it is to just run your hand over the sensor and that seems to work pretty well. It also always turns on by itself when I take it out of my pocket)

Not really sure how to do that... and anyway, once I install omni, most of it will come built in. I'm just disappointed in the out of the box limitations.
If you want a phone with more features buy LG G2, it's better than Samsung phones and also has highly customizable UI but heaver than Sony's one.

That can be solved with a flipcase or Gravity Screen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2227516)

So essentially you're blaming Google for not equipping Android with TouchWiz features from the first place.. right..
Sony is known for the simple and elegant to navigate UI. So if you want all the bells and whistles you could always opt for xposed modules. Better to add an app rather than carrying all the bloat in the first place.
Knock on feature should be there for TabletZ because it is a huge device so looking down the power button would take too long. the LG G2 was in a different, worse problem (button on the back) but XZU buttons is clearly felt just by handling the device even in one hand so i agree there's no reason to put such solution.

Hell you tell people the battery will last 2-3 days and they scream bloody murder, "oh it sucks, thats horrible!". Then you tell them the Apple iWatch battery will only last 8 hours and they are all like " oh well thats probably ok" (I dont actually know what the iWatch battery is like). I just got mine yesterday and so far I like it. I had the original Gear 1 and a Moto 360. I will say that the Moto 360 seemed to work better with Google stuff such as Hangouts, but it was far more limited as a device compared to the Gear S. I loaded the Gear Notification Extender, and now I can reply to both Gmail and Hangouts using the Gear S, very nice!
I do like the option of using something like the Opera Mini Browser to view Gmail and such. And I can't wait to try it out this spring while cycling, it would be nice to leave my phone at home or in the car when riding my bike.
Hope this helps.
its a fantastic piece of kit
to be fair i've struggled with it a bit understanding the settings and permutations but the functionality seems to be improving day by day.
the choice of useful apps isn't massive but that hasn't been a problem for me personally,
I'm not a great fan of the interface on my related S4 smartphone but i can live with that
the liberation of just having the watch (ok with your compatible samsung plugged in or turned on somewhere else) is the main attraction for me
i dont understand the haters especially those deriding the battery life, the appearance (it looks great on your wrist in real life), the concept ( i don't think i need one why would anybody else?) or the need to have a samsung phone to go with it ( I'm not charmed by that either that but Samsung are no worse than others in that regard and there are I guess technical reasons why it has to pair with something short of being a brick on your wrist) at least with the Gear S that pairing can be at a distance or indeed you can just use it as a phone on its own
some people have posted here and on android central that they have returned the watch but most actual users who see the use case for them, have checked out the limitations, have persevered or been patient with some of the glitches and understand why its the best in its class
i see your a "senior member" so apologies for showing granny how to suck eggs - apart from that buy it - or hang on a little longer to see if there really is a Gear S 2 coming soon!

Sounds like your proximity sensor is covered up or not working. Do you have a screen protector or anything on the phone which might interfere with it? If so maybe remove it and retry. Also I'm sure you could find an app that would check it.

The Software is buggy and LG is not doing anything about it . I tweeted to them so many times and i thought HTC was bad.. they were amazing .. my first and last LG device .. however i am just confirming its not always proximity sensor issue .. Its the buggy software implementation.
i quite agree with you.... any idea when we get 6.0 ?
Would it be software? If we all have the same phone with the same software then we would all have the same problem, but we don't?
It's a software bug... Rebooting the phone fixed the problem, but then it starts acting the same way after few calls.
Sent from my LG-H961N using Tapatalk
You could try( if you haven't already), wiping your sensors. They sometimes get dirty & don't work properly.
I have same issue and have no protectors or covers or nothing just the stock phone. I think it's got to be some stupid software issue and it is very irritating. Went from one ridiculous phone into another headache...

Drama much? The phone has been out for barely more than a month... and not every phone is having this issue.
Process: Collect as many bug reports as possible, recreate and fix issues, release a patch.
LG is not going to release a patch just for your particular problem because you tweeted really hard.

Well people value their money and thats why when they feel they have inferior product the will complain. Like micro scratches on the screen, bleed on second screen, back peeling off .. and if you dont have this issue does not mean these issues dont matter and it also means serious quality control issues at LG. You for one needs to get over yourself and respect other people's problems, i have none of the above problems except the software bugs, i still feel compassionate towards fellow community members who might have recieved inferior quality devices. I clearly understand your personality type, "I dont care if the whole world goes to hell if i dont have a problem i am good." You should try to be less selfish and i am sure i am not the first one in your life to call you selfish. Think about why those people think you are selfish.
