Hey guys just a quick question. I'm rooted and want to add a font to the setting menu font changer. I have a .ttf file but cant figure out where I need to move it with root explorer. Thanks

Here's a fonts zip.. Extract the zip and you can install any font apk like a regular app..

u need to be rooted to change fonts
when u are rooted, u need to extract the zip and take ttf file.
then put it in the sdcard and use an app that can change fonts
i use font changer. it's in the android market.
I am rooted. And I have that app,LOL u just couldn't figure out how to get it together. I read directions and did what it said. Must didn't read to well, I'll try again

I use font installer. very simple and to the point. You see the font, you preview it, you click it, apply, reboot.

when u install font changer on your phone,
in internal sdcard you will find a folder called '.fontchanger'.
open that folder and paste the ttf file.
then open the app and you will find the font that you added
click the font then click reboot.
Alternatively you can go to the UOT kitchen, grab the font you want in a flashable zip and you're done.
Thanks guys!

I don't think people are doing font packs anymore. Apps like font installer from the market are easier to use. I don't know how well they work for our phone, but I did see a screenshot around here somewhere of someone who changed their font using that app.

the font doesn't have to "come with" the app - as long as you have the font on your sdcard, you should be able to use the app to intsall it.

Hmmm. I just looked at font changer by martino in the market, and it had several warnings to not use on Android 4.0+ and font installer is by jrummy who is a wicked talented dev. Haven't tried either, yet. Def miss the old method of just flashing fonts from the thread fachadic had set up in the OG Evo forums.

The only thing I didn't like about the Mean Bean ROM was the fact that city couldn't have the stock notifications toggles with the brightness slider.
This is a modified systemUI that I tested with Mean Bean ICE V1.06 and so far it is working great.
Please note I am not responsible for anything that could probably go wrong on your phone after you use this mod.
Copy it to system/app and make sure permissions are set correctly

Haha. Sorry bro. The problem you are having with your file explorer is that you have to change the system folder from read-only to read/write.
I am used to Root Explorer. In Root Explorer there's an option when you open a folder to make it write able. And then if you right click the file (long press) you have the option to change permissions of the file.
I don't know how that's done with the file explorer you are using. Maybe someone will chime in.

Nice mod op
Don't want to sound negative but the directions to do this mod is quite unclear
I end up doing it twice to get it to work
1st time I just use root explore to copy the modded file to system/app and when it prompt if I like to replace the original file input yes and thats when the system ui keep crashing
So I rebooted and reflash the rom then try again
This time instead of replacing the original file I have it create a copy then I changed the permission to rwrr and rename the file to replace the original
Reboot and all was well. Nice mod
I think you should redo the directions on how to do it properly than just a simple copy and paste as it actually require a few more steps. Just my 2cents

Hello Mates,
I am presenting a new system fonts apk which is 'Samsungsans.apk' that has a lot number of fonts.
Remove the existing one from /system/app and place this one
https://www.dropbox.com/s/56pawvyzk4e22bp/SamsungSans.apk
Now through any root file explorer change permission to rw-r--r--
reboot,
Or you can simply flash this through recovery
https://www.dropbox.com/s/huusptz3kieqlvt/nitols_fonts_collection.zip
(Very special thanks to @Logel for making the zip for me)
now from settings/device/font, see how many fonts you have.
count and let me know☺
ENJOOOOY!
DEVELOPERS ARE WELCOME TO USE THIS TO THEIR ROMS, JUST WOULD LOVE TO SEE MY NAME IF SO☺.
