[Q] Re-rooting Flyer - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

I did something stupid to my flyer and I had lost my home screen. I didn't see any options but to do a factory reset. But now it says it's no longer rooted....
I am S-OFF, and am running a LeeDroid ROM. (LeeDrOiD_Flyer_HC_v2.0.0). I thought this was automatically rooted. What should I do to get it rooted again?

What is telling you that you are not rooted

Turning a P510e into a P512?

Back when I had the Inspire 4G we were able to play with the build prop when flashing Desire HD roms so our system and market still recognized the device as a US HTC device. Does anyone know the steps and build.prop lines that need to be modified to do this? This is probably my OCD acting up but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

[Q] htc view 4g gb->hc error 1233

got my HTC View 4G before New Year, but haven't really had time to even touch it... kinda looking forward this weekend.
it came w/ gb and one of the main/important reasons i bought it, is that i want hc, i've tried going to software updates, but I get error 1233
i'm thinking to myself, since htc already officially released hc and unlocked bootloader for this tablet, i should be able to go to hc freely right?
btw, does unlocked bootloader is same as s-off? and how do i upgrade it to hc? also is there a way to remove all this bloatware that it came with all sprint crap, i was only planning to use this tablet as wifi not as 4g
2 Evo View family here. We use them WIFI only, no 4G data.
I upgraded from standard GB (as delivered) to HC using "Update Android" menu selection, over WIFI while sitting at McDonald's.
I did receive a OTA (WIFI) notification about the upgrade.

Yeah try selecting HTC software update. That worked for me.

How to operator unlock the flyer 3g

So I traided my sensation for the flyer, couldn't be happier (except the fact it has HC on it already but I am coping with that)
Anyway, the device is S-on and uprooted and operator locked.
How do I remove the operator lock (on my own, without paying)

Operator
Firstly, whose your operator? Geneally, the Flyer 3G is not sold with operator lock.
T-Mobile, when I insert a vodafone sim card it asks for a network pin..
Yeah, there is no T-Mobile logo on it or on the startup screen, odd..

Are you S-on or S-off ? Gingerbread or Honeycomb radio/hboot/. Is your flyer WWE/Brightstar/US
If you can post a screenshot of your SIM pin prompt, it would help.
Also, it maybe that's your Vodafone SIM thats locked. Try with another SIM if possible. Go into HBOOT(volume down + power button when Flyer is off) and check your sim lock status using your Vodafone sim and the T-Mobile sim.
Report back and I'll see if I can help.

Ok, I got your problem. HTC is infact selling the T-Mobile version of the flyer with operator lock and a T-mobile logo on the top right corner if I'm correct.
The only way till now is to buy a unlock code from the websites like gsm mobility or htcunlockcode.com , who provide you with unlock codes for as low as $12 based on your IMEI.
Some guys at the DHD / Desire S forums made an unlock tool which removed operator lock, if someone could port that, it would help.
The main problem now is that very few Flyer owners/developers have the operator locked T-Mobile flyer. I could give porting a try, but wouldn't be able to test it.

I thought the carriers had to release the lock code to you if you asked for it. Call them and ask for either the SIM lock or the MSL key. As long as you don't try to dodge the ETF, they don't erally have a legit reason to deny you that information.
Barring that, I think you can get around this once you are rooted.

Well, I can see you have the same Hboot version as I have on my Flyer. From that I can say that at the moment it seems not possible to get your device S-OFF'ed. But you can get it unlocked at htcdev.com and from that point flash a costum rom (from XDA) and maybe that network thingy will disappear...
My thoughts on your request.
To be simple - it's not possible to remove sim pin or operator lock just by rooting. You need radio s-off for that.

are you still willing to do this? i assume youre refering to gfree? i have a t mobile fller,am comfortable with adb/fastboot and would be happy to test. if we can find an exploitable radio, might it give radio s-off as well? im mainly interested in subsidy unlock, superCID(althoug im not sure the flyer is subsidy locked in the first place),but radio s-off would be a sweet bonus!

Htc Desire Hboot Problem

I just got a Desire today in for repair, and it has a strange issue.
It only boot in hboot, it does not start the sd check, and the navigation butons are non responsive. When I plug the usb it say HBOOT USB PLUG but nothing more.
It a non rooted S-On phone, on stock RUU.
Has anybody had the same issue?? If so how can i solve that???

Titanium backup and HTC One M8 (AT&T) ?

What do I need to freeze to stop OTA updates?
Looking into it now.

I *think* you disable "HTC DM" and clear the data of "HtcDm" on the phone. I did this and haven't received an update notification since.
On past HTC devices (like my old One X EVITA) it was "updater". Not sure if its the same on the M8, since I flashed a custom ROM a day after buying the phone.

Wish I had seen this yesterday. I swear I didn't hit "update" because I wanted to root and s-off first. Somehow even though I had been hitting the delay option, it still updated. Took it out of my pocket once I got home and it had already re-booted and was installing the update... I was lame but thankfully I was still able to root, install recovery, s-off, and disable the "tampered" text in the bootloader. So it all worked out. I still am going to disable the OTA updater, don't want to have that happen again.

Yep. It does. You're welcome. Also, I enabled "HTC DM" and checked for updates...at first check, it says there are no new updates. Then I rebooted and I guess you can wait the 24 hrs like it asks or set your phone clock ahead 24 hrs, but I waited, and rechecked for updates and it redownloaded the update and flashed it with no problems.
