I've been trying to find an Optimus G teardown guide for days now, could anybody help please?
the closest thing i've seen is the Nexus 4 teardown.

Thank you so much!
Nice! My buddy dropped his Sprint OG and cracked the screen. He can use this.

How the heck do you get an SD Card in the slot?!? It felt link I almost broke the tablet just attempting to open it.
EDIT: If you think I was a noob for asking this, go find an HTC Flyer/HTC EVO View, it's much harder than you think to open the back panel.
Right here for ya: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396469
There was no "manual" that explained how to open the sd card slot for my Evo View, fortunately I found it from globatron's link.
Funny I was wondering the same thing. Deff have BIG hands so was a tad funny trying to get it out.. this well make it allot easier.
Thanks guys, I feel like the dumest noob piece of crap!!! For an advanced technology user, how stupid can I be? Thanks for the replies. I got the tablet for Christmas, and I couldn't find the manual... Thanks for the help guys!

I think several of us were concerned about the difficulty in opening the cover. It's not the easiest or smoothest design. So don't be too hard on yourself.
And I didn't get a manual either, so finding a PDF was what got me to this forum.

Melax if you have big hands the easier way is use one hand, putting your thumb on the front of the view, then press the back with your fingers (index and ring fingers for me ) while simultaneiously pulling up with the fingers.
it was hard for me until I saw a youtube video

+1.
The trick is putting both thumbs at the base of the cover in the CENTER rather than at opposite ends of the cover and pushing up. It comes off quite easy this way.
Pic for View slot
Here is the pic from manual and yes its a bit tricky..

This phone is dam ugly! Its wider than the Note with sharp corners. It looks like a horrible cross between a LG and Nokia windows phone.
Ohhh LG have you falling so far....
Yes I saw that. Why would I want a 4x3 aspect ratio? Very ugly!

Interested on how it'll turn out. Not much of an LG person though.

So Maroon, this thread is an example of cognitive dissonance of the ones who are getting the ATT GNote version directed towards the LG Vu? lol! some pretty hateful comments directed at the LG Vu lol!

No not at all...That would mean I am jealous of the phone, which in no way am I jealous. It's more of shock that it's the best LG could come up.

I get it...not much different that assuming comments made toward the ATT Galaxy Note are jealousy because International GNote owners "cannot attain" the ATT version...I suspect if someone can shell out the cash for a unlocked international phone, they can probably spring for the ATT version. Could be they prefer the features of the international version?
Anyways, just some friendly sparring from another thread. Not trying to be critical of your thread...
I do think the LG Vu is probably to wide to hold comfortably, but that is my opinion.

We're talking about a completely different phone here though
I mean, 4:3? That'll be PERFECT for watching my VHS tapes, haha

or defending yourself in a parking lot...I was just razzing you.
I have to agree (not being a hater) but that is an ugly phone. Way to qide in my opinion and 4:3 ratio??? We will just have to wait and see what it is like. Just can't wait until Friday for the real deal.

Pretty much. JTag didn't work, neither did ODIN.

Jtag
Have u tried jtag and it didn't work?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA
Well, I had it apparently Jtagged at Mobile Phone Solutions (MPS - my local phone repair store) and the guy said an ODIN didn't work.
He also said he tried a JTAG with a RiffBox Jtag setup, but as I've inspected, he lied. The void stickers are still on two screws in the battery area (as far as I know, you need to unscrew it and pop the screen off to get to the motherboard to jtag it)... and there are no signs of it being pulled apart.
He even charged me for it. What a ripoff!
Anyone got a HTC HD2 they are willing to give away for free? This HD2 was meant to be a birthday present, and it seems a **** one. Not much of a pre-birthday celebration going on here.
CJ
u should try the htc people. twell them u were updating and something went wrong. i bricked my p500 a year ago when i was pretty much a noob , they replaced the mother board ! u can be in for a surprise !! go try !
Thanks man!
I'll try

Do the visible screen dots on the Optimus G bother anyone else? I noticed them today when there was a lot of sunlight shining on my phone. I saw them on several HTC devices in the past (Inspire, Flyer, etc) and it never sits right with me.
By comparison, there are no dots visible on the iPhone 5, Galaxy S III, Note II, Lumia 920, or many other phones that I have.
Maybe I'm just anal and/or nitpicky.
I've seen them and they don't bother me at all.

I thought that I replied to another post exactly like this. Anyways. Its part of how they place a cluster of touch points and they matrix them together. Those are kind of the way the screen gives you a multi touch screen and to make it work past 2 fingers.

I suppose because everyone is different. Just like nails on a chalkboard irritate some people, but not others.
Since I have seen many great screens without the dots, I always wonder why any of them have them. Is it a cheaper manufacturing method? Inferior materials? Why do they need to be there on the Optimus G, but not on the iPhone 5 or Droid DNA?

I don't even notice them.

I've only seen them ONCE in direct sunlight.
And since every device screen has sucked for me in the sun, I don't care at all.
I'm not going to be watching a movie on the beach (or taking the phone anywhere near a beach for that matter), so I don't see how it matters at all.
Can you actually see them indoors/when you are actually trying to use the screen for something other than a call or text?
Yeah I remember getting the Inspire and seeing all the dots and thinking it was pretty cool xD
Then the other day I noticed this phone had them (albeit it much less in comparison).
