HI,
I have a P7510 that had Overcome 3.2 ROM (that i rooted without problem). Some days ago, I decide to update to Samsung 4.0.4 original UK firmware. I use ODIN and the tablet are working as expected. I didn´t do any wipe and the programs wasn´t lost.
But I´m trying to get root, but I can´t flash the CWM with ODIN. I try several tar files indicated for P7510, for ICS and other olders and I can´t get the option to boot into CWM download mode. I try ROM manager, but no way Because this, I can´t flash the root zip.
Is this happen because I didnt do any wipe or factory reset ?
Is there any way to get root in this case ?
Thanks

Hi I have rooted my UK i9100 with odin and successfully installed resurrection remix previously. When trying to flash an updated version I stupidly forgot to factory wipe and now my phone wont boot, it gets stuck on the rom boot screen and i cant get into cwm.
I can get into download mode and from there have tried flashing another rom via odin (litening rom) to see if that would boot to get me into cwm but that freezes on the boot screen also. I tried to use Galaxys2recovery as shown on zedomax youtube channel but then realised that is done from gingerbread only. I tried reflashing "CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXX_LP6-v5.2-CWM5" via odin and then the litening rom again but that still hangs when trying to boot.
Is there something obvious I should be doing? ..I am (unsuprisingly) a noob
Thank you
you could have asked at the first time itself, before various yourown attempts ?
if you are able to get CWM now, try to install the ROM after data factory reset and all the wipes + system format from Mounts & storage.
if it didnt help again go to CWM do all the wipes and format system, and switch off and get into the download mod and flash a GB stock rom from ODIN

that's the thing, i cant get into cwm, or at least i don't know how to. Is there a file I can install from odin that will put me straight into cwm without having a working rom?
why do you wait to boot the phone to get into the CWM,
didnt you try Vol-up+Home+Power while phone is off
I am trying to restore the original state with 4.1.1 firmware. Downloaded I9300XXDLJ4_I9300OXADLJ4_I9300XXDLID_BTU.zip, unpacked, the installation goes without problems (Odin 3.07, Auto Reboot + F.Reset Time). And then... I am getting the unrooted phone with the same settings and apps I had before. How is that possible? Some of those apps need update (looks like some old version is "recovered"). I suspect that might have happened because some while ago I used Titanium Backup to create update.zip and "flashed" that update.zip using bootloader. But how can I make the phone "forget" about that? How can I get the "clean" factory-state phone, without those apps/settings? And, what is also annoying, straight after Odin3, the Device State is Modified (without even rooting it!). What can I do about it?
Any ideas are welcome. Thank you!
Because when u going to flash your firmware through Odin before that u have to do a wipe data factory reset from cwm / stock recovery.
In your case u just flashed new firmware over your old one without any wipe.
Hope u understand this.
Thank you very much! I am unbelievably stupid.
Device: AT&T Galaxy S III (SGH-I747) Rooted
ROM: Cyanogenmod 11
I have had my phone rooted and running a custom ROM for a few months now and I have decided that I no longer want to run a custom ROM. I looked up how to go back to stock ROM and everything said to: wipe cache and do a factory reset, download latest stock ROM off of Samsung's firmware website and flash the ROM from Odin. Every time that I did this, it would always fail even if i tried to install from recovery mode. I tried a few more times and it still didn't work. One post said that it was because TWRP, i downloaded and installed the stock recovery (which was the only successful install) and the other installs still didn't work through odin or recovery mode.
Is there anything that I am doing wrong, am I leaving a step out, or is something just flat out wrong with my device?
Assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, recently I just rooted my phone, everything going fine back there. Then I try to download cwm touch recovery and everything fine. Then I download "http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/i9300-to-n00t-bring-lte-fun-to-3g-t2886574/page333" this rom and wipe data/factory reset >>> flash it with cwm, it said Installation Abort Stage 7 something like that, I found something that said my cwm version is not compatible with the rom. So I now stuck at cwm, I tried to flash to stock rom and the big PROBLEM is, I dont know my software version. here http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9300
Then can anyone help me get out of this cwm, flash to stock rom, and get my s3 back?
It's 3am and I still didn't sleep.
HELP ME
Hi! I own a Galaxy S3 I9300 1GB RAM, 64GB which I've rooted, changed its ODIN and installed this ROM and now I'm very sorry I've done that. I ask you to help me, telling how can I install back the stock ROM, which is this one.
I'm not experienced in stuff like this at all; when I first changed it to 4.3.0 from 4.1.2, I've installed another recovery mode (like Safe Mode in Windows) called TeamWinRecovery, from where I installed afterwards the 4.3.0 ROM; now, to install that 4.1.2 again I have to change it back to the stock 'Safe Mode', and this is where I'm stuck. I followed all the steps to install the ODIN shown here but it doesn't work. PLEASE HELP ME!
Here are the steps that i followed
1.Download the stock rom(sammmobile)
2.Flash it via ODIN and you are done, but there's a counter which will indicate if you ever flashed a custom rom,i never tried to clear it as i was not worried about it
For removing the counter if necessary, you could use Chainfire's TriangleAway.
You can find the firmware you need at SamMobile, as already mentioned. Just click the link and select the language your region.
Then get Odin and flash the firmware.
