Sweet! Be sure to post any weird issues you run into on here. I know there are some out there floating around and even some I've run into personally that I'm trying to work out for the next version.
1 concern
Some of the songs start at the 0:59 mark and continues to play from there. Other than that this seems to be this app is solid!

Yeah, I found this bug AFTERWARDs. It's in regards to the pausing mechanism. If some songs start at the :59 mark, pause then un pause and it should play the rest of the songs normally. It will be fixed in the next release.
Hi,
This is definitely the best of the bunch I have seen so far. Great work.
A future feature that would be nice - scrobbling ?
Also....is there a 'Shuffle All' option as well as 'Shuffle Album' ?
Well done
Phil
Bug
Hi,
After starting app several hours after last using it (including a phone restart in this time after battery died) I cannot get past the login screen. It is requesting a google two step code again, as I received the text from google, but does not let me reenter login details...no keyboard...just stuck on login page.
Edit - Reinstalled and tried restarting phone after successful initial login. Not able to repeat error (on Nokia 920) so far.
Cheers
Phil

As of right now it will shuffle the current selection of songs you have. If you are playing from an album, then when you press the shuffle button on the player page, it will shuffle through those songs. If you click on an artist and then click on a song, it will shuffle through those songs. I'm working on making some changes to the shuffling

Hi dedrics,
I saw the e-mail you sent to me and I replied to it. Basically you are one of 3 people that I have seen this happen to. I am still trying to figure out why this is happening. I am putting some additional logging in to the next version and even adding a function that will allow the user to send me logs if it sits at loading library for an extended period of time. I'm sorry you're running into this issue as it doesn't even make sense to me what's blowing up. I'll do whatever I can to help you out though so feel free to initiate e-mails with me ok?
Thanks
This app works great for me, except for the Audio Background, it stays black while playing. HTC 8X.
I've noticed that when I pause a track, then come back to it, it will start from the start of that track.
At first I thought it was something to do with the network going to sleep, but if I pause it and play straight away, the same thing happens.
I have also noticed that artists that start with 'the' come under 'T'. For example, 'The Specials' should come under 'S', not 'T'
Love this app, thank you.
Search would be great

You can download a whole album or artist. But it is cached and will only be viewed by CloudMuzik.
In your case, you should download Google Play Music Manager on your PC. There's a function that downloads all your songs. Then transfer them to your Lumia.
The playback that doesn't resume is very frustrating
I noticed that Gooroovster has the same issue. Is Google making hard for you to memorize the playback status ?

The playback issue with resuming was my fault . I put in a fix that would actually write the position of the current track to the isolated storage and then read from it. My issue with the fix was that it will sometimes get into a deadlock with the method that reads from the saved position before it gets to set it back to 0 when the song is changed. I have this worked out in the next version. I unfortunately didn't even catch this until shortly after it was approved.
Feel free to post your annoyances, feature suggestions here.
Oh and something else.
For those who are getting stuck at "Loading Library" forever .
I thought of an idea. Fiddler (preferably) on your computer and capture the traffic starting from /music/listen (You'll have to enable HTTPS capturing for this to work). Send your .saz or even just the URLs it keeps trying to hit to me at [email protected]. This will help me to understand and figure out what I'm doing wrong in my code that seems to fail for those select few users. Here is a link to Fiddler's website to show how to set this up. http://www.fiddler2.com/fiddler/help/phone.asp
Lastly,
I wanted to have the newest version ready for this week, but I've become busy this week. Here's a list of newer features to be expected:
Playlist modification and addition
Swipe to change the next track on the player page
Tapping the artist/song from the native playback will go to the player instead of the Logging In screen
Live Tile
Able to view the previous songs in the Media History
Enhanced logging capabilites
Manually send logs. You'll be able to even send logging data while it is initially logging on.

Click on the particular album and at the bottom, press the cache button on the application bar. It will be right next to the pin to start button.
You can even cache entire artists, and genres also by doing this same method.
If you want to access the cached songs, go to the main page of the app where you have the full listing of songs, artists, albums, etc and click the ellipsis then go to Cached Songs.
As for cache limits. It is the limit of the space on your phone.

Excuse me if I am behind the game, I just got my invite. I had a couple of quick questions, hoping someone could help me out.
1 - I've been uploading music via my pc... left it on all night and it's only uploaded around 600 songs. Is there a LIMIT to how may you can add? I never saw that specified.
2 - When I open the Google Music app on my phone, it only shows the music on my phone... I thought I would be seeing the music in the cloud. Is there something I am not doing? Isn't that the whole purpose?
3 - I'm sure more will come...
Thanks!
Not sure of the top of my head of there's a storage limit, if there is though I'd imagine it would be quite a bit. As for the android app, when you first open it hit menu and go to settings, the first option is to select your Google account. They should all show up after that.
EDIT: I was just checking out my setting on the website and it appears there is a 20,000 song limit. Keep in mind this is beta, so there may be more eventually, or there might be subscriptions for more space.

We are talking about Google here.... Its probably a glitch that will be updated. I downloaded the app but noticed it did not take the place of the music app 1.0 already on phone, so I uninstalled it. Can't you use dropbox for what you are talking about? The size limit probably is the reason you don't. I'm learning more & more by you guys. Thanks....
I think the limit is 20k. Also in settings try and connect your music app to your account. I had to do it manually.

Interesting, I got my Music invite yesterday, downloaded and installed the app this morning and have used it, but did not get a prompt from the app (nor an option under settings) to select my google account till just now.
Looks like all of my music is starting to show up on the app now. Very odd this did not happen when I first installed the app since I had accepted the invite and already began loading music before I got the app.
Off-topic/on-topic question.
This is really not that important, but does anyone know of a way to get a LESS ugly widget to use with the Google Music app?
I hate this thing, but I love the music.
:-( <-------Me pouting.
In my home network I have 3 DLNA servers that allow streaming of all myvids/music.
When connected to wifi on my S3, if i open the Gallery app it automatically searches and parses all files on available DLNA servers.
This drains a huge amount of battery life! and it does this every time the gallery is started.
So far I have not found a way to disable this search or even to limit the servers.
I am running stock everything.
I first thought it was the "All Play" service but disabling it did not help. I know believe it may be a part of the Gallery app itself.
Any thoughts/ideas on how to disable that functionality in the gallery app?
Note- this is not the same as DLNA file sharing. disabling that only disables sharing of files from the s3 to other clients.
This annoys me as well. As much as it is kinda cool functionality to have, every time I go to show a picture of something on the phone at home, it spins up the hard disks in my 2 NAS devices for no reason. An option to turn this off would be great...
I have the same problem. My WD MyBook Live, and media players in the network show up in the gallery and slow it really down. I hope somebody has a solution to this as so far I only can stop it selecting the option "View by" "Content in device" but that can not be saved.
Here is something i have found.
If you select "View By " from the Gallery options menu then choose "Content in Device" it disables the DLNA view.
BUT
only for that instance of gallery.i.e. if gallery app is killed then you will have to choose option again.
Still you only have to do it every time you reboot your phone.
there is another thread just like this that has opped up same section slightly different request.
Ill pop a link from this thread into the other and see if we can get an answer. Have you disabled the media scan function in the wi-fi section?

The thread you posted was only started yesterday. This one here has been here for a week.
Either way ill jump on the other one and get the guys to jump over and get to answer I know you can remove the image cache but I'm not sure about the continual load because even if you remove the cache it will just keep updating it.
You can also root your device and manually remove the Allshare apk's. but that removes the allshare functionality of course.
I have done this on my S3 and gallery no longer searches for DLNA servers.
I've decided to use BubbleUpnP for DLNA streaming purposes instead.
Any luck?
Just got my S iii and am having same issue. I vaguely remember it asking about dlna upon setup, but I cannot find how to disable it loading pics from my PC every time I open gallery. Battery killer! Btw, there is nothing in the other thread mentioned about this. Has anyone figured it out?

I haven't seen any comments on here in several months, has this been resolved? (Aside from getting a replacement Gallery-style app.)
I'm new to Verizon and have the S3 (Verizon model of course) and have the same problem. I turned off all DLNA settings but the Gallery app still searches. I have Plex Media Server at home (Mac version), so Gallery gets extremely sluggish when I'm home and have WiFi turned on. It's sluggish to the point that I have to slowly enter Task Manager to exit it; no sense even trying to get the "Content in Device" option set because it never sticks and takes almost forever to get to because of the sluggishness.
I also went to the other forum link posted above, but that seems to be talking about WiFi always scanning, not this Gallery/DLNA issue, unless I'm missing something...?

on my rooted note 2 I used rom toolbox to permanently remove anything 'allshare' related, as I don't use that stuff. It resolved my issue with gallery slowing. I have plex installed, but it is not sharing photos.
Deleted.
I think I managed to solve this on my device.
I went into the "more settings" under wireless and network. And into "Allshare cast" when I turned this off my gallery suddenly started working again.
*edit*
Nevermind, it was just for a few minutes. The app started to slow down after I closed and opened it again.

Guys, this is an old post, but the same keeps happening with newer models, and i didn't want to use a third party app. I downloaded an app called DisableService (needs root) and disabled the service SystemService inside NearbyService. The nearby devices list has disappeared from the gallery's menu and the gallery starts up a lot faster. I have yet to try if the gallery will still spin up my nas but i'm very optimistic.

Have any of you ever clicked on the "I'm Feeling Lucky Mix" button which creates a mix based on your music taste?
this is a great and excellent feature to have. I've clicked on it multiple times, and now I have multiple instant mixes.
but how do you delete an instant mix? I have these instant mix playlists now, and I don't want them anymore.
I thought I had deleted them somehow previously (don't ask, I can't remember), and what's even stranger is that when I click on "Listen Now" 'All Music', I see all my music there, however, I also see Instant Mixes, I don't want them in there anymore.
When I go to http://music.google.com and login, and click on "Instant Mixes", THERE ARE NONE ! When I click on "Listen Now", there are none in there also!, this is how it should be on my cellphone/tablet as well.
Yet on my tablet, when I view All Music by clicking "Listen Now", I see them in there.
clicking on the 3 dot menu doesn't get rid of them because there is no remove option, no delete option either.
can anyone help?
The Listen Now section is populated automatically based on a few different factors (listening history, recently purchased music, etc...). If you are talking about the old "Instant Mix" feature it should have saved to your Playlists. If you're talking about the new "I'm Feeling Lucky Radio" feature, it shouldn't save anywhere.
Are these instant mixes still showing up under Playlist on your phone/tablet?
@slickromeo There are two types of instant mixes, user-generated ones (which you can delete) and auto-generated ones (which always appear). I was annoyed by them when they were first introduced, so I wrote a chrome extension[1] to give the user control over what they see. I just finished porting it to firefox[2] as well. That will help take care of them when using the web player at least. No joy for people using the app, though.

Hi guys,
Do you have any idea how to make Remix 403 detect my music folders again? I have two favorite players, JetAudio and JustMusic. Both had been working properly with build 402. However, after I have upgraded, it won't detect music even if I already set the folders.
Another issue I have is with Photoshop Express - clicking Gallery button won't open the Gallery app.
Thank you.
Seems like android media scanner was disabled in this release. Clearly devs can't handle this problem. First, they've added scanning that lagged the whole system, and now they've disabled it completely.
Right now I don't have time to research it, but it's quite simple to fix by applying just few commands.
Read up: "disabling/enabling android media scanner"
For now I can only recommend 3rd party apps from play store - search for "media scanner".
I don't remember if stickmount could also scan media files. Check it.
I hope this helped.

I'm using the Mate 10 Pro.
I listen to Spotify in my car. Right now every time I enter my car, I have to start up Spotify on my phone, which is quite annoying. On my previous phone (Mate 7), I could add Spotify to the "Protected Apps" and it wouldn't shut down anymore.
Is there a way to solve it in Mate 10 Pro/Oreo 8.0.0/EMUI 8.0.0?
So far I have:
- Added Spotify to "Ignore Battery Optimization" (Status: "allowed")
- In Launch, I deactivated "Manage automatically" and set all three option active (Auto-launch / Secondary launch / Run in Background)
I don't know what else to do. Any help appreciated!
The stock music player app takes precedence over spotify and others. So if there is any sample music on your phone, it will try to launch that first. Maybe remove any locally stored music and try again.

Thanks, but I already did that. I removed all rights from the "Music" player and deleted all files in the same folder. I created a new folder, named it "My Music", so since then (about 1 month ago) the default Music player has not played anything anmore That's good so far. My issue is really just that it shuts down Spotify.
I noticed that when I'm at work. Maybe another hour later, I still see the Spotify icon on top of the screen, so it wasn't shut down. But sometimes later during the day, it's suddenly gone. So when I'm back in the car, I need to start the app again.
I also tried to hit the "open apps" button (the one next to the home button), then clicked the lock icon. But didn't help either.
I dont use spotify throughout the entire day, but usually as long as I wasn't playing a random video or gif online just before entering my car, spotify will start back up.
I cant say that it runs in the background all the time when not in use. Its like my car triggers it to re-open when it reconnects to bt.
I have a mazda 3 though, all cars seem to act different for BT connectivity.
The thing is, if I leave my car to go shopping or something quick and I get back in my car, it works perfectly fine.
Therefore by my logic, I can rule out the BT of my car. When this happens as explained before, the Icon still remains on top in the notification bar.
So, I guess in the end, for some reason my phone just shuts down Spotify.
Anyway, thanks for your input.
I Have the same problem with VPN App it work fine in background but After a while the App Closed Why?
Having a similar problem with VPN app and also with Youmail visual voicemail. No notification of new voicemails until I open the app. Any ideas? I also set to ignore battery optimization and launch manually.

That doesn't help. Apps still shut down in background.
FWIW, I have noticed that battery optimization (Launch in settings) changes can be hit or miss. Some apps perform as set. For instance, I have some items set to manage automatically and they seem to stop when I want them to. However apps like Facebook when Set to manage manually and run in background is off, it does not stop. Other apps set this same way will be stopped. Not really sure how it works actually.
