[Q] Team Dirt 3.5.2 no data??? - HTC EVO 3D

specs:
hboot 1.4
radio 1.09
4ext recovery
Sprint
Utah
I full wipied and installed Team Dirt 3.5.x and have no 3g data connection (4g is not avalibule in my area) and it works fine with other roms. I love the rom and had done all my app installs over wifi. I left for a bit to run some errands and noticed that my 3g won't connect. any ideas???? I tried re-wiping and reflashing and still no luck.

Are you s-on or s-off? Also, have you tried flashing a different ROM?

I am s-off and I have flashed other roms with out issue. I am currently installing it via boot manager pro to see if makes any difference. I wasn't using any boot manager before.
Thank you for replying also.

Hmm. 3g has been working fine for me on that ROM all week. It works on other ROMs which eliminates hardware or Sprint issues and being s-off eliminates kernel flashing issues. Strange.

When I realized that data wasn't working I nandroided it and went back to my previous backup. Instead of doing a clean install in boot manager I just restored my nandroid of 3.5.2 and just booted it and 3g is working. I also forgot to mention that in my original attempt I am using the "Dirt-MOD-MAC Kernel v3.0" which is also part of my nandroid. I don't get it, why would it work in boot manager but not as a phone rom? hmmm...maybe i'll have to try it again as a phone rom again and see what happens.

The only thing that I can think of is that when I switched back to my original rom I did a prl and profile update.

Joker CM9 and CDMA

I can't for the life of me get network access on CDMA with Jokers CM9 4.5.1
I've wiped, flashed, wiped, flashed, rinse repeat. I tried the CDMA fix with no luck.
Everything works fine on MIUI and stock ROMS.
I've also done *#*#INFO#*#* and everything is set the way it should be.
Any thoughts?
Edit: also tried flashing with both CWM recovery and TWRP, same results. ROM flashes, boots, and everything seems to work, just no mobile network.
Try flashing it over a previous beta that had working data?
Have you tried modifying the build.prop?

I had this issue, one workaround i got was to flash 0.3.1 version of CM-9 Rom, this made me to get my CDMA working. after this flash the latest CM-9. Try it out.
Yes, CDMA is working on new build.

I flashed the latest build and had the same problem, no cdma, I also tried reflashing twice, flashing over the .3.1 version, two different kernels, flashed over a modded 2.3.5, nothing worked. Would love to use this rom, but I'd think it would be a one step flash after this many revisions and not a pile of workarounds after flashing
wipe everything. install 0.3.1. boot up. reboot recovery. install newest without wiping anything. should fix network issues.
I was just on 2.3.5 deblur'd, and followed the instructions on this post to the T:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27300185&postcount=9204
Only exception being I flashed olegs kernel after the bill full wipe, and I flashed the latest build. Working now.

Why is it that only GB radios work on my ICS PHONE?

I have S-Off, the leaked May Hboot, an ICS ROM (Nils' Business ICS 3.4 S-off version), but the ICS radios simply do not work.
Today I tried them and had barely functioning cell reception, crap battery life, and only 1x data.
Then I flashed the OTA GB radios, and everything was perfect. Lightening fast 4g, killer cell reception, and great battery.
Why?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
The Beeb
Try this one. There are a couple floating around that may have problems but this one works for me
ICS Latest Radio
Just remove everything in the name before the PH and flash in bootloader (I know, you know this but others may not)
May also want to match the kernel
Thanx, Nils. I'll try it after work today.
BTW, I'm on your new kernel release, and it's running great.

What you say makes perfect sense, and I even agree with you.
There's just this tiny voice in the back of my head that keeps shouting "Yeah, but WHY?!?"
After updating radios, may need to have stock recovery installed and do a factory reset in hboot, then reflash recovery, rom, & kernel.

+1 you probably NEED to do this.. I know I always do..
In superchilpil's firmware thread he does say to wipe and reinstall or you'll have 4g problems.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614366
"YOU MUST FACTORY RESET IN THE BOOTLOADER TO FIX DATA ISSUES"
Actually it was Snuzzo who informed me that I need to do that after not reading all the words on the flashing instructions. You know figured I would just skip that part well thats fine if you want your data dropping in and out, no 4G and just general ****tyness..
I did a wipe/factory reset in bootloader, and then restored a CWM Backup of Nils' ROM.
When that didn't work, I did it again and wiped everything and started over with a fresh install... No joy.

You have to have the stock recovery in order to factory reset in the bootloader. If you have a custom recovery such as cwm or ra it won't do the reset needed for the radio to work correctly.
Flash stock recovery
Factory reset
Boot to make sure radios work right
Fastboot install custom recovery
Restore backup

[Q] Can't boot any cm10 roms

I used to be able to flash and boot any cm10 rom just fine but just recently, I haven't been able to for some reason. After flashing and trying to boot up, it'll show the boot animation for a split second before rebooting. I've tried everything, formatting sd card, flashing different radios and hboots, different recoveries, and nothing works. I'm currently using the latest firmware, baseband, and 1.04 eng hboot s off. Does anybody know what's wrong?

Ah at least I'm not the only one. Hopefully someone knows the problem.
My phone had the same issue where most roms wouldn't flash properly. What worked for me: run the ruu.exe. You'll still be s-off, but everything else will be back to stock. Flash a custom hboot and recovery and then flash a ROM.
I've tried that too and it also didn't work unfortunately.

I can't speak for mathlette777, but I've had no problems booting any Sense roms, on default, Mac, or Buttered Toast kernels. CM10 / AOSP roms booted fine until about 3 weeks ago (maybe a month), then suddenly without cause or warning they just refused to make it more then a fraction of a second into the boot animation if they got there at all. After looking at my recovery logs, last_kmsg, and last_dmsg and seeing no one else with the same problem I chalked it up to a hardware issue.

That's the exact problem I had hockey (could only boot sense 3.6 roms here, not even sense 3 or 4 let alone aosp, etc). Running the ruu fixed it for me.

I just wanted to make sure that he flashed the RUU successfully. He said he had no recovery but that shouldn't be if the RUU was successful and he should be able to boot into the stock recovery even though you can't do much with it. Also, if he can't boot the Sprint stock ICS ROM after flashing the RUU then he has something else wrong.
Have you tried flashing the RUU yet?

I'll try flashing the ruu again and see if it works. I can currently boot any sense rom even the 4+ ones fine. Anything based off cm10 doesn't work though.
update: so I've flashed the RUUs from the bootloader and got that working then flashed all my old stuff back and I still can't boot cm10 roms. Just shows the boot screen for a split second then reboots.

Unable to flash back to Mean Rom ICS from MeanBean?

I have been running MeanBean for a few months and am not very happy with the battery life and certain other "Features" and would like to flash the ICS ROM listed below. I have tried a few times to flash it but it won't install. It stalls trying to install and just sits there for up to an hour with no progress. I have wiped everything several times and get the same results. I end up having to go back to MeanBean also listed below (Which installs just fine in about 5 minutes.) I've re-downloaded the ROM several times getting the same size.
I've recently started getting random reboots with no error report generated. That and the poor battery life begs me to go back to ICS... If It would install. I have 1 year left on the contract so a new phone is not in the cards.
Any suggestions?
Kernel: 3.4.10-g19136fe
Baseband: 1.05.11.0606
Build: 3.16.651.3
S-ON
Thanks! ?)

Both are pure stock with a bunch of tweaks that will give you good battery life and performance, only con is that both haven't been updated in a while but are pretty stable... (ics mean rom not being developed at all anymore)

since you are s-on, are you flashing the kernel/boot.img separately? or thru fastboot? If I'm not mistaken when you are s-on you have to flash the rom twice (meanben OP and meanrom ICS OP instructed) so the kernel gets installed... Good luck!
P.S. you need to update your radio/baseband but for that you need to be s-off.
I have the same problem, except for me when I install the MeanRom zip, it reboots while it installs the kernel and then hangs. I'd really like to get this rom working again! Really the onnly reason was because I heard that Sprint limited MMS sizes on JB, and ICS was supposedly unaffected, so I wanted to see if it was true.

I'm s-off, and I thought maybe there was something wrong with the md5 also, but it checks out fine. I also tried downloading an older version, then dirty flashing the newer version, but that didn't work either and it hung at the same spot. I've never had problems before with flashing roms before... althoughI've never been able to flash a kernel correctly for some reason. Custom kernels and my phone just never work

Well seeing as there is a thread here, someone ported it at least. It's really really nice though I'd love to get my own kernel working on it. You don't think that maybe since it's a hybrid of three different roms, that would be affecting the installation? I guess perhaps I could superwipe, install rom, install stabilizer, and then kernel.

Need Help - Evo3d Not able to install new roms + Negalite probs w/ 4g&wifi

Ok, I unlocked the bootloader on the 3d and then installed ext4. i then threw on negalites rom, booted, and had no wifi or 4g capabilities.
so i did some research....came to negalites website where they say to flash the butteredtoast kernel, then re-install negalite rom with aurora.
ok...so i did that, installed the kernel, re-installed negalite, annnnnnd still no 4g/wifi. i tried this several times. wiped caches, etc.
so then i decided "well screw this, i'll just try a different rom to see if wifi/4g work" so i decided to go back towards cyanogenmods wild in the night. so i transfer the cm zip to sd, and try to flash it....but i get an error aborted?! wtf?? i thought i unlocked the bootloader....and could flash what i wanted here.
so i tried flashing the pacman rom, that aborted as well. it seems any ROM other than negalites will not install. what gives?
So questions:
1. Is there a way to fix the negalite rom to get 4g and wifi working? anything else i can try at all?
2. why can't i flash any other roms? do i need to use TWRP instead? do i need to regress to a different rom or kernel?
Hellllpppppp!!!!
edit- this phone also is S-ON still if that matters at all
First flash Rom.zip
Then flash kernel
Also find smartflash setting in 4ext and make sure its enabled.
If you are not s off, you cannot flash anything but stock based ics, that's why you were getting errors. You need to change your hboot to flash those, and you need s off to change hboot
