My brother has a Desire V and wanted the most easiest way to root it... I have a SGW and the way I root is by update.zip... Are there any chances to root similar like this for the Desire V?

Just head over to the Android Development section of the Desire V forum, you can find your answer readily there.
There is this all in one toolkit, this is by far the easiest way to unlock bootloader and root - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2077774
Well, i tried to unlock the bootloader on my bro's phone but then it says that it will wipe the data on the phones and the unlocker tool is to collect token ID for some reasons... dont understand why though...

how to root it with the easiest method possible(i dont want to lose it)?my android version is 4.0.4 and last build 4.1.b.0.587
thanks in advance
a member with that score surely has to know how to root , anyway "EASIEST METHOD" unlock your bootloader and get a kernel that is prerooted , finish
dont want to unlock your bootloader you will do an easy long method, this > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1707284 , hit thanks if i helped
Easiest method is to flash pre rooted kernel.

con you please give me the link for the last and better kernel
just for information i have a locked bootloader
and any others tricks for this phone would be nice
now that i want to unlock bootloader
i enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. Bootloader unlock allowed says NO
Sure.. If you want rooted stock then my recommendation is boot extended stock kernel ... Download here http://www.mediafire.com/?g94m9kgpsy0xe3v... For overclocking use rage kernel ...
There is already a thread on xda for installing custom kernel with locked bootloader..

If you somehow unlock bootloader then you'll not be eligible for OTA updates since DRM keys are lost ... ( Official way ) ... However there is a TEST POINT which preserves DRM but is tedious and way too risky..

I suggest you to not unlock the bootloader first and you should get use first with SONY devices and their application for development (like Flashtool,Sony Update Service,PC Companion,s1tool,etc.)
You can at least try to root your phone first (remember, once rooted, your warranty will be voided)

i don't think so
Yes you can root, but only with the downgrade/upgrade method. You have to downgrade to gingerbread, root and then Run local-prop, Update with "wipe data" unmarked and then Run push-root-files. Just Check out the tutorial here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695514

I was considering rooting my HTC amaze and am new to all this. What's the best and easiest way? Also, does this affect if I want to trade my phone in on an upgrade? Thanks for all the possible help.

Hello!
Well then best way to root in my opinion is to use hasoon2000's toolkit in the development section of the amaze.
If you need to return your amaze or trade it, I would suggest unrooting it by flashing a RUU. A RUU brings your device back to stock. Stock basically means 'unmodified'. Right now you're on the stock rom.

To root your phone use hasoon's aio toolkit.
And than unlock your bootloader through it .
After flash 4ext touch recovery and than flash supersu to gain root access !!
And ya to unlock your bootloader you'll need unlock_code.bin which you will get from htcdev.com.
Go there and unlock your bootloader !!!

Hey xda,
My sister wants me to flash custom software on her phone since hers is becoming slower each day but I have a couple of questions.
I have read in the forums that we need to backup efs folder due to common corruption of imei, how can I do this?
Also, I come from a HTC one x and it is impossible to lock the bootloader again. Is it possible to lock the bootloader on the s3 for warranty purposes? Talking about the international version here.

EFS backup can be made via flashing a recovery, I recommend philz touch, also you can't relock the bootloader as it's always unlocked.Just flash the stock rom via odin and use triangle away and then unroot.Your phone should have a reset status and should show binary status unmodified.
Seems like it's way easier to get an s3 back to stock than a HTC one x lol. Which thread in the general section should I follow for instructions? There are many

use cf autoroot or flash a custom recovery and flash supersu/whichever root app is to your choice via the custom recovery.

you can also backup your efs file by using Online Nandroid Backup
here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.h3r3t1c.onnandbup&hl=en
choose custom backup and then selective (default is "normal" ) then choose only efs and backup it .
For future reference, all guides are in general > sticky roll-up thread

no I am not sure what to flash. I jus went to the international thread and am lost. This is my first HTC root job. I guess I just need a step by step some where
You need to first get TWRP and fastboot flash recovery xXxX. Img. Look at the first page of that post though. I think it's pretty much a rough step by step. You need to get fastboot and adb installed on your computer first if u haven't done that already. Can't remember if they mentioned that

The file you need to flash for root is there but that original link was for if the root does not take. But you may want to install a root checker to confirm root.
after you flash recovery,i used the chairfire root zip instead of the one in the intl root thread, as that didn't work for me.
so flash recovery
flash chainfire's root
presto!
Thanks guys.. gonna try again tonight. I'll let you know .

Yes if you are on the stock rom with no deleted or modified system apps, however the update will most likely break root and could result in the inability to root in the future. Usually within days of an update, someone mods the new update and posts it in the dev forum for those who are unable to update, at least that was my experience on the S3.
How to unlcok the HTC One (M8) bootloader with official HTC Dev tool

yes, just boot into twrp, don't flash it.
fastboot boot twrp.img
you can flash supersu and never touch stock recovery

Thanks everyone for the replies. I was somehow able to just push SuperSu onto my phone, no need go into fastboot or anything. After I unlocked the bootloader I restarted my phone and just clicked on Perm Root, it did its thing, I restarted one more time and boom SuperSu was there and root was verified with root checker.
