[Q] PhotoSphere Force Closes Camera - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have just flashed a PhotoSphere zip. However, when I open Camera and select PhotoSphere, the camera app force closes.
Did anyone get this working on their SGSII I9100?

Try going to system settings > apps > gallery > clear data.

Nope. Still not working.
Could you point me to the zip which you've flashed?
My rooted phone is running stock 4.0.4 ICS with SiyahKernel.

Try this: http://db.tt/CSDH6DBb
Or this: http://db.tt/TTWQUK6n
Flash via recovery. Also, you'll have two camera and gallery apps. The above linked do not have a working video recorder so you'll have to use your rom's app for video recording.

Turns out that it does not work on the stock ICS ROM.
Anyways, I flashed CyanogenMod 10.1 and GApps and then the camera zip. It works perfectly.
Thanks.

Many users have tried this on the CM10 thread. To make it work you have to edit the build prop in someway to make the phone think it's an sgs3. I haven't done it myself but users are reporting successful installations. Search CM10 and CM10 unofficial threads for details.

I have got same problem, I don't want to edit build prop.
Photo shpere does work on OMEGA Rom (XXLSJ based) so it can work with galaxy s2.
I'm on stock non-rooted phone

Found a working solution.
Just flash this zip in recovery https://www.dropbox.com/s/cg7vth21lcudpn8/camera42_patched.zip.
it doesn't require root nor you need to edit build.prop
I'm running this on ICS 4.0.3
I tried the patched version. It's running without modifications on the build prop.
But when trying to capture a panorama (photosphere) I get an error "gallery has stopped" during the stiching process. Any ideas?

Just what I need. Got it working flawlessly on CM10.1 nightlies. I edited the build.prop file just like the instructions. Just make sure you make nandroid backup before editing just in case.
Instructions can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36270876
Download https://www.dropbox.com/s/cg7vth21lcudpn8/camera42_patched.zip on your SD card.
Boot into recovery
Select "Install Zip"
Select "Choose zip from SDcard"
Select "camera42_patched.zip"
Wait for flashing to complete.
Reboot
And start using your new JellyBean 4.2 Camera. [/QUOTE]

That doesn't fix the problem that the gallery stops working.
On "Panorama is rendering." The process stops.

Yh it worked but the video recording doesn't work so I'm just going to revert back to the patched 4.2 camera that came with my ROM but the photosphere is awesome so my next phone will probably be a nexus phone

Mate, so you want this rom to use multiwindow... but other's roms have multiwindow...just do a search.
And maybe you can PM LegendK95, asking him to build Legend rom JB 4.1.2
But, AFAIK, he bought a galaxy Note...
Cheers
I know there are more but i want almost exact the same as the leaked version.....

Well, how about looking in the Simplistic Rom-thread? Quite hard to miss the downloads on the first page.
Just flash the rom in cwm, except when the developer says otherwise.

S3 Jellybean Camera Problem using OMEGA ROM (AOKP)

I recently flashing an OMEGA AOKP ROM in my s3, but i dont really like the new camera function, lack of settings..
the big problem is my camera oftenly getting error, it says "can't connect to the camera"
can i use stock jellybean camera APK? any links?
Did you install omega files?
It gives you the opportunity to get many modifications for Omega Rom.
There you can also find an alternative camera.
Omega files can be installed from google play.

[Q] Installing Camera Apk that came with RootBox 4.2

Hi Guys,
can anbody tell me how I could get back the Camera App that came with the ROM RootBox 4.2?
I used the 4.3 Stock Android App before but with that app the Video didn't work and I cant save to my external SD Card.
Can I somehow extract the Camera and Gallery App from the ROM zip in order to flash it over my current Installation?
Thanks a lot

OK. Flashing a new camera is great but just so you know there is a way to make the old one work. The reason you get this issue is the remainer of some of your old kernels. One easy way to fix that is to reinstall rom clean and during the installation to perform system format from mounts and storage in recovery. Works like charm. Also clears out abunch of other old init.d related issues. Next time you guys install rom with full wipe do format system
I fullwipe then reinstall ROM,but i have problem stil ,I flash a custom Samsung ROM,that work correct, next I fullwipe and reinstall cm11 but I have problem now
