If you find a bug, other than in the buglist, please report it in detail! Thanks!
Introduction:- Team Win Recovery Project 2.3, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It’s a fully touch driven user interface – no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash.
- The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Features:- Ability to save custom recovery settings
- Touchscreen driven with real buttons and drag-to-scroll
- XML-based GUI that allows full customization of the layout – true theming!
- Settings are saved to the sdcard and persist through reboots
- Ability to choose which partitions to back up and which to restore
- Ability to choose to compress backups.
What is working:- Everything
Buglist:- Touch will seem it does not work, you need to use 2 fingers, one to keep it anywhere on the screen and one to select things and use it normally, after this bug will be sorted out, the recovery will be official.
Readme:- Make sure in settings: Use rm -rf instead of formatting < is ticked! Or else, restoring will result in bootloop. (It should be ticked by default, but just wanted to make sure).
- TWRP being overwritten by the stock recovery - If you are having issues with the stock recovery overwriting your custom recovery, please read this excellent guide on how to resolve. (taken from StreakMod thread, thanks there)
- Reboot Bootloader from the reboot menu actually reboots into Fastboot.
- Backups are not compatible with CWM or StreakMod and viceversa.
- All zips are compatible with this recovery.
Themeing:TWRP has a strong Theme Support, so if you find any compatible theme [highlight]480x800[/highlight], please post the link in the thread and i will add the link here.
- Themeing Guidelines
- BOMDIA italian troll theme V1
- BOMDIA black italian troll theme V0.9
Changelog:- Follow this official link.
Download and Install:Download link
Installing
- Unzip and flash with: fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img
- Reboot with: fastboot -i 0x413c reboot
- Hold down the keys "volume up" and "volume down" simultaneously while rebooting.
- Select "Software upgrade via Update.pkg on SD Card" in the menu
- Now you should see the TeamWin blue courtain.
Special credits:
- TeamWin - For providing this awesome open-source recovery.
- kibuuka/n0p - I used their ICS device tree and kernel.

As far as i know, yes, it is possible

It seems that a flashable .zip will not be compatible with StreakMod, and i believe that is the most used recovery out there, that being said, the flashable .zip will not be made, but i can make a script
Great work!
would you add utf-8 support and remove baseband check?

Well, don't know if there is a point in either of those 2, as the recovery should work on all basebands, otherwise, please report.

Hi
after the recovery flash ( fastboot + "fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img" + "VolUp-VolDown-Power" + "Software upgrade via Update.pkg on SD Card"
i have a black screen without recovery boot.
Lexmazter, have you any ideas ?
is possible depends to baseband?
@Lexmazter,
If I fastboot flash install this TWRP, then I do not need either CWM or SM Recovery anymore... Thank you. I hope there'll be new release soon.

Nope, no CWM or SM recovery needed, as you can only have a recovery at a time on the phone.
No releases planned as i couldn't repair the touch bug and i don't have the sources anymore.... Changed the laptop sinced i worked on it.
- Alright then. Thanks for the great effort.

Here is my first attempt at a custom rom.
Special thanks to...
-Jhotman (for many reasons)
-Spidia (assisting with creating the flashable zip)
Info -
Dell Streak 2.2.2 build 354
- Bloatware removed
- default wallpaper changed
- ADW as default and only launcher
- network and wifi tweaks
- zipaligned
- deoxide
- modified framework-res.apk based on older GingerKrad themes
- sd card read set from 128-> 2048
- new cleaner font
- fly in effects
- Stock apps are not updated
- Has Sense Live wallpaper
Bugs -
Calculator - Minus key is actually a Square due to custom font.
SuperUser - Is broken, you need to re-run gingerbreak 1.2 to re-root (if someone knows how to fix this please let me know.. thanks)
Background -
This is my base rom I will be working on for RealRed. This rom will be updated with newer builds when they come out.
This a super striped, tweaked rom on the settings that I have found to be the best for me. This is a rom you could easily build on and tweak via, new scripts, launchers, etc... I called it PlayDoh because it can be molded to what you want!

Hey Krad
How about setting up the language by default in english?
Krad,
Look at the principle of implementing the example Superuser Superboot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15106194&postcount=61
Apologies for the poor knowledge of English.
So far what I can tell from testing this, is that the 2D &3D is a definite inprovement. Since people will ask, I have been getting about 900 average on quadrant. It does appear to be quicker in some aspects, and more testing will have to be done to be sure. Upon initial boots, it does take a long time to boot, but after 3rd reboot it started to boot up faster.
Kudos to krad for the development. Keep up the good work.

Not to belittle your work, but how different are playdoh and realred from eachother?
If they're only different from themes would it be easier to maintain if they were simply 1 rom with 2 themes included?
You could use the installer streakdroid does and have a install.txt
You could even include the install.txts along with the post. If they can download a rom they can download the txt too
Pardon my ignorance. Could someone explain zipaligned and deoxide to me. Thanks in advance.

This looks like a push in the right direction.. I see a boot.img for 351.. However I am running 354. How does one implement superboot
Disassemble the boot.img and you'll understand the principle, then rebuild the boot.img for the 354

same here. I flashed the recovery.img on my 8GB NT using digixmax's method and all I get is a black screen when I try to boot into cwm.
I flashed the recovery given in OP, and I too, got a black screen. I tried to reboot (holding power button down) Cyanoboot loads and says "loading recovery from emmc" then back to black screen.
My computer will no longer recognize the nook, I get "USB device not recognized" I tried to use ADB and got nothing.
I inserted a factory image on the sdcard and turned device on, in hopes that the nook would do a factory wipe and got nothing, just....."loading recovery from emmc" then back to black screen.
I will try a few more thing but am running out of ideas.
I flashed recovery.img via fastboot and got blank screen when booting to EMMC recovery. Demetris, please recheck recovery.img on goo.im. Thanks
Will the latest TWRP recovery work to flash this rom?
Also, I keep getting proxy errors on dev host when I try to download the gapps. Mirror anyone?

Installation:
since our device developers are constantly trying to fix bugs, they are always changing something in init.*.rc files for testing. For this reason I can't post a regular boot.img file because it won't work. For now, I've created a script that will take all init.*.rc files from current rom's boot.img and then compile new boot.img with TWRP inside it.
Note : For Rooted & Unlocked Bootloader Only
Note : For 4.4 ROM (should work on older version of android upto 4.1). I don't own XP. So please provide feedback
1) Download the latest zip file.
2) Extract it in a folder and place your current rom's boot.img inside that folder. (it must be named boot.img)
3) Connect your phone with PC. (adb must be working)
4) Open your command line and cd to that folder
5) For linux users, type
Code:
chmod 755 run_me.sh
./run_me.sh
For windows users, type
Code:
run_me.bat
new boot.img file will be created in the current directory named new_boot.img. Power off your phone and flash the boot image.
Code:
fastboot flash boot new_boot.img

Not sure it's possible, since the boot.img is compiled a script that runs on the device.
I suppose it would be possible to do it by running the script on an XP with CM11 installed then using the compiled boot.img to create a flashable ZIP.

What's new in 2.7.1.0 :
Add GUI option to change or repair file systems on individual partitions. The change is destructive so backup your data including internal sdcard first. This option should make it a little easier to migrate a device from ext4 -> f2fs, for instance. You will find this option under Wipe -> Advanced Wipe, then select only one partition and then press the Repair or Change File System button. If a developer has added f2fs support for your device and we don't have it in TWRP, please contact me via PM to arrange for it to be added.
Various bugfixes to backup and restore
Improvements to USB storage handling
Added a class to search for files to make finding the correct brightness file automatic in most cases
Various other bugfixes and tweaks
What's new in 2.7.0.0 :
Faster graphics rendering by disabling alpha blending on fully opaque objects thanks to Tassadar
Allow sideloading from /tmp on encrypted devices
Check for a crypto footer before asking for a password to prevent user confusion
Additional checks for validity to auto generated backup names
Text wrap in the console output
Proper caps lock support in the keOnly For KitKat ]yboard
Mouse support via USB OTG for devices with a broken digitizer
Improve scanning of storage locations for OpenRecoveryScript
Haptic feedback for buttons, keyboard, and vibration at the end of longer running actions
Fixed ext4 wiping when no selinux contexts are defined for that partition (e.g. sd-ext)
Update SuperSU to 1.93 and improve installation process
Added selinux contexts restoration to fix permissions
Load RTC offset on Qualcomm devices to fix the date/time in recovery
USB Mass Storage fixes Add SELinux support checking

OP's title says "Mediapad" so I think it's for the s7-301u. He's one of the 2 famous devs for keeping the Mediapad alive for 2 years after its EOL.
The original Mediapad is still a good device, and the X1 is its true successor.

Ah, so you can see where the confusion is with the naming conventions from Huawei.
Mediapad vs Mediapad X1
Hellooo !
To be honest I dont remember how to install the TWRP, why? cuz i did it a loooooong time ago and nowdays i only flash the *.zip in my Galaxy S3mini
Im using the MediaPad Lite 7 ( s7 - 932u ) and i have the twrp on it, can someone be the kindly one that explain it to me?
I like Twrp so much, that i have two of them installed. Probably since a very long time. Occasionally, Twrp 2.3.2.3 could not access sdcard, a reboot fixed that. I could not explain that to myself. Since the update to 2.7.1.0, occasionally a Twrp 2.3.2.3 shows up, which cannot access the sd.
BTW, how big is the MP's Recovery Partition supposed to be? Mine is 16mbyte, big enough for two recoveries, and maybe corrupt.

Get the device into fastboot mode by pressing Power + Down Vol
Connect to the PC and type those commands by zyr3x
I updated with Rashr. There's also Flashify and Rom Installer, the latter one having issues with the MP.
The secondary recovery Twrp 2.3.2.3 is still there and can be invoked by a cold start. Is 16mbyte the correct size for the recovery partition, as something must have gone wrong in the past?
Sorry but i didnt understand...is it for Mediapad X1, will it work?

Huawei mediapad x1 recovery
Is there any recovery, either Cwm or TWRP for the Huawei mediapad x1?
I think i've read about one real custom rom(cm11?), so there must also be a recovery.
Not necessary for modded, rooted stock roms installed via standard procedure. Though I installed one for convenience on the original MP, with Comec rom.
TWRP 2.7.1
Team Win Recovery Project 2.7, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It’s a fully touch driven user interface – no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

Awesome dude, eagerly awaiting Sellinux kernel now
Tested a small Boot backup and restore and it works. I don't have space to do the whole data or system backup.
Is this the same version i installed with the toolkit today?
There i get many grafic glitches on my desire x.

The graphic glitches are probably related to flashing unstable roms and not wiping after new install as i'm using this recovery and experience no graphic glitches.
and the recovery from toolkit is most likely the older twrp recovery
Do we need a kernel with SElinux to flash the cm11 you shared or just the recovery will do?

Finally smooth scrolling in file manager.. Thanks for your hard work
Keep up :good:
Just did a full backup and restore. Works like charm!
Well done! Waiting for a cm11 build now..
Am i right, if i install s-off i can install new roms without flashing boot.bin with fastboot?
Simply flash the new rom, wipe cache witch twrp and i don´t need computer anymore for adb commands?
Wipe cache is not working without s-off if i do it with twrp?
Btw it isn't hard to enable selinux in kernel compilation, but IMHO it is not everything needed. I can provide you a SElinux enabled kernel for test, twrp should have a test to verify selinux.

I am S-Off.. Restoring from backup works fine, flashing together with ROM too, but flashing separately not.
Error has something to do with name of the partition, because it shows that kernel has to be flashed on Boot LNX or something, I don't know
i install it after i use 2.5.0.0 and its works good ... Thanks!
Now we need KitKat :cyclops:
