I know there are a bunch of threads about CWM, but I need a straight answer. I have the T- Mobile SGS3 and I want to be able to read and back up to my external SD card. These other threads are so confusing and they mix in other carriers instructions. Could someone please give me some instructions on what version of CWM to use and how to go about getting this to work. I am currently on the AOKP ROM. My computer won't recognize my phone when using AOKP, this is a known issue... I would greatly appreciate any help... Thank you!

Have you formatted the card to FAT32 yet? It seems to be an issue wih the S3 reading NTFS or exFAT.

i dunno.. but maybe ex-fat would work too
Exfat wont work. Closed soures, so backup, fat32 format and put back.

If i flash cm 10.1 on my phone will delete everything on my internal memory ?¿?¿

1) Questions usually belong in the Q&A-section.
2) This one doesn't. Please do some research for yourself as the answer is too obvious.

No, only if you wipe your internal memory. No offense, but please search next time.

Hi everybody!
I flashed CyanogenMod 10.1... It's a very nice ROM, but I have a big problem!
YES, I formatted my external SDcard to fat32!
When I want to go on my external SD storage, I must go to /storage/sdcard1 or something like that, and if I want to go to my internal storage, I must go to /.../legacy...
On Stock, there was it very easy; there were two options: sdcard0 and extSdCard....
Is this issue/bug fixable?
Oh yes, and I want to save my pictures and downloads on externalsd....
Has anyone an idea? )
Greetings...

It's not an issue. Partitions has been changed in CM and that's why now they're called differently....

Yeah, sorry but I think it's better to ask than have a hardbricked device!

Yes but I have bricked my old device 4 times because I didn't ask enough!

you should make up for that with searching and reading the instructions, not asking pointless questions

Haha yeah, I learned: Don't use RomManager to flash a Recovery on Galaxy Fit and don't flash ROMs for Mini

And always use search function of the forum threads, always working for me.

Just FYI: this has nothing to do with CM 10.1 or stock.
This is related to Android 4.2.X vs. 4.1.X.
4.2.X supports multiuser, and that functionality requires this new way of structuring sdcard.
CM 10.1 is based on 4.2.2, so you end up with the new structure.
But also stock XXUFMB3 does the same.
It used to bother me at the beginning, but I got used to it.
If you do not like the new path, you can also point your applications to /data/media and you end up in your internal sdcard.
