(Q) Original Wolfbreak rom - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have the original wolfbreak rom that came out when gb was released for our x10?
.
Actually I have tried almost every rom out there including jelly bean roms
None of them are smooth though
Even if they are,at some point of time they tend to become laggy
Only the original WB rom was smooth for me no matter what I threw at it
.
So plz can anyone share with me the original WB rom with additional addons if any?
& instructions as well on how to install just to be on the safe side
.
Would really appreciate the help
.

Hi, here you can find Wolfbreak's rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192988. Everything you need is in the thread - how to install, requirements, hotfixes, etc...
Basically, for installation of the rom you'll need any rom that uses xRecovery, Flashtool that can be found here http://androxyde.github.com/index.html?1356886877000 and two files that you can find in the first link.

[Q] How to install Cyanogen CM7.0 RC2 v011 Gingerbread 2.3.3

I'm looking at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=911364 and cannot work out if I've downloaded the correct file from the 2nd post or what to do with the rar once I've unpacked it?
I've already had a play with z's free x10 b3 & b4 & wolfbreaks CM6.1.3 v05, and I'm up to speed on flashing baseband via flashtool, so I'm not totally new to his, but I downloaded from the third link in the 2nd post and extracted but cannot find a zip file to use with xrecovery.
Is this ROM installed differently? Am I doing something wrong?
Any help woud be greatly appreciated!
look for: Update.zip
When you extract the .rar file there shoiuld be a file called update.zip. This is the file you can use from within xRecovery.
But why should you use v10. v11 is out and some of us experience less WLOD's.
v11 works for me, also with update.zip.
Good luck!
Thanks for the info, I'll give it a go at some point this week.

ei,
Haven't done it myself yet but the instructions provided by geppie sound sound like they would work. Which bit you struggling with?

I'm on the newest version 2.2.1 from Cyanogen right now.
Whats the different with this one?
I mean not the differents between 2.2 and 2.3 but: what is working already in 2.3?
There are camera issues. The camera app isn't working which means that you will not be able to take images.
You will experience random system reboots.
Basically for me 2.2 froyo rom us more stable than cm7

Thanks for the info.
I will wait till the 2.3.3 version is more stable.
Having done a bit more reading I think I'll stick with CM6 based ROM's for now, let CM7 become a little bit more stable!
Hopefully it'll be before SE release the 2.3 update
Knowing our devs it definitely will be : )
Yeah, I'm fairly new to these boards but I've been pleasantly surprised by the speed of new releases and updates for the ROM's that I've been using.
I'm still in the procss of trying to decide which ROM is best for me, so I'm having to go through constant reinstalls of all my apps and so on which is a nuisance but worth it for the improved speed & functionality!
psx you should use "my backup root" for all your apps so you dont constantly reinstall them.

Cyanogenmod 7
Hi, is there a link to a guide to install Cyanogen on my x10. I have gingerbread 2.3 at the moment and my phone is rooted. Need basic info.
Thanks

[Q] Some clarification and Assistance needed please...

OK so I'm really sorry if this has been discussed before but I've searched around and really found nothing that makes any sense to me. A bit about me, I'm a software developer and I'm trying to get into this rom building etc deal but the more I read about it the more complex it gets so I need a few things clarified for me.
From my understanding the rom is the os itself and the baseband is some sort of interface between hardware and the os??
What is the purpose of the kernel? how can I flash the kernel? Is it possible to only flash the kernel? is there away to go back to stock kernel and how?
I tried using some "stock" kernels in a few thread then slapped on the latest MIUI IRIS 1.5 rom with bb52 and no radio or wifi, assuming bad kernel?
Where and how would I be able to get the source code to get started developing myself?
Again really sorry for the n00b questions, but I did do searches for several days and spent hours on this site, maybe just not asking the right questions. All help and advice is greatly appreciated and hopefully I can start helping out soon.
To start to help u, you have your phone rooted, with the latest busybox, with xrecovery i am assuming?
If u don't, post again and the members here including me will help u out.
I will post links with guides to help u when u give an answer back.

Yes phone is rooted and been playing around with a few different roms already, although I may have just bricked my phone, can't even get into xRecovery anymore . Never installed busybox though, have no idea what its used for but I'll get on that as soon as I can get it to boot again. Thanks
Use seus to repair your phone. That is Sony Ericsson software.
If that doesnt work, try flashtool

Ok I think I'm ready to move on, Phone is rooted using Flashtool and I noticed that it installs busybox with the root, also reinstalled xRecovery to install TripNMIUI IRIS 1.5 on bb52 which works great so far.
So of i understand, u want to install that ROM or have u installed it already?

The original purpose of this thread is to get me started on possibly developing my own roms. Like where do I get the source code? what language is this written in, is it C, C++, or Java like the apps? what tools do I need to get started? etc.
Thanks

The programing of creating ROMS themselves is out of my league big time. I can't help you in that department at all. I can though say to either put that question out in the Q and A or lastly, PM a developer here to at least get you some info. But the PM answer do come slowly since its on their personal time. Hope this helps.
He already posted in q&a... This thread! But changing the title to "How do I get started building roms?" or something similar will get you more & better answers.
Search XDA for "Rom kitchen" or "cooking roms". If you search "Xperia kitchen" I think there is a thread where you can download the programs and resources for your workspace. Look around in android development for useful threads & stickies too.
That's all i got lol, hope it helps

if u are interested in building ROMs i highly recommend that u check out:
dsixda's Android Kitchen
as for ROM sources...
Android Open Source Project (generic Android sources)
CyanogenMod Sources (a popular branch of android)
FreeXperia Project (specific to SE Xperia X10/X8)
sources are mostly C (C++)...
apps are using Java...

[Q] Themes breaking RC2...

Hey there; I have a problem. I'm not sure where to post this as owain's thread is now locked, so decided to create a new thred (My apologies if this has been answered elsewhere on the forum - the search function of the xda app simply sucks).
Anyway, the problem is that whenever I try to install a theme through xrecovery it will shove the phone into bootloop, does anyone know how to fix this? I tried a few seperate themes to no avail.
Thanks in advance.
Give us some more info like wich rom do u use?

Baseband version:
M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-5340415
Kernel Version:
2.6.29
Mod Version:
xCyanogenPro By Owain94 &Slade87
Build Number:
RC2
This should answer both of you. I thought that was the latest baseband version, and I've not had problems before I installed RC2; I am 99% sure that that's when I started having the problems. Also yes I did do a full wipe and clean restore a few times... Well by that I mean I did a "Factory reset" from xrecovery, if you meant restoring with PC Companion then forget it I'd rather stick with this default theme than do that xD. But there must be a simpler fix, right?
P.S. Thanks for replying owain; it's nice to see that you still care about your rom users
Okay... no reply to that. I checked across the forum and that definitely is the correct and latest baseband. Could this maybe have something to do with me restoring a backup from titanium? It's the only thing I can think of right now. Is there at least a log that I can check on my phone after I've attempted to install a theme? Or is that not possible to retrieve on a bricked phone?
Edit: Oh one more thing; I know that flashing zips through xrecovery isn't the problem as I successfully flashed dual touch through it. But before you say it; it can't be flashing dual-touch that caused my current problem, as I tried flashing themes before flashing dual-touch and it bricked my phone. I'm pretty sure I can't provide any more information now as to what might be the cause of the problem.
well the theme's are for MDPI size
the roms were in MDPI but rc2 is is LDPI so it won't work

Oh! Right I see now
So are there no compatible themes at all for RC2? And can I not just change the lcd density to make the old themes work? Well thanks for the reply anyway.

Yes sir. CM7 the best. Is the most bug-free/fast/stable rom. CM9/10 just for playing with new android os.
