Former iOS user here mostly because of the jailbreaking abilities, since that scene is dead I've decided to give this thunderbolt a try.
Is there a cydia type app for android? I've heard of blackmarket, but I can't find a good mirror anywhere.
Thanks

They do not condone the stealing of paid apps on this site. Don't be surprised if they lock this thread.

No, there isn't a Cydia, but here's how you "Jailbreak" an Android:

That's standard to all of Android. Unlike iOS, stock functionality includes the ability to install applications from any source. The checkbox next to "Allow non-market apps" is usually unchecked by default, but still available to check

His problem isn't installing aftermarket apps it is getting them in a manner similar to Cydia. I answered him in pm already.

Nice, though this version wipes off the tablet view customization that comes with the market on CM7..

What do you mean by that? I think this version works even better on tablets honestly. If you are basing off the screenshot, that is taken on a phone obviously.
For example the view you have on "my apps". I used to get two tabs, one with the list of the apps installed and the other one beside with the information about the app. It was more like tablet feeling I think.
And btw I'm using it on my TouchPad and is way slower. It takes a bunch of seconds when I have to go back to the app search.
Think I'll go back to the version that came with CM7

I have this problem too.
Can we prevent market to upgrade, or can we let market to have a tablet view?

No and no.
Even when you uninstall the newer market and freeze/remove market updater, the market will still get updated to the latest version which sadly doesn't have a "tablet view" like the older one.

Hello everyone. I have extracted a Copy of the Chrome Browser apk because i wanted to share it with everyone. if it works for a Non ICS device then Hoorayyy, right? i mean the worst thing that would happen if it doesnt work on Non ICS devices is, it wont install. well anyways, here it is.
Chrome Browser.apk,4Shared
Chrome Browser.apk,MediaFire
How to install:
1.Download through Phone
2.when download is complete, Open the download and select "Install"
-------------------------------------------------------------------
3.If a popup shows up saying you need to enable a setting before intalling, select "Settings" on popup
4.Then make sure "Unknown Sources" is check and then select "Ok" on the Popup
5. Repeat steps 1 or 2.
We've already gone through this on another thread it ONLY works on ICS devices

He is right, it is for IceCreamSandwich only.
If it is for a other version then you can call it a virus/malware.
If it is for a version other than ICS and up then you can find it in the playstore.
Either the guy who created this thread is fooled by someone or he knows that this is not chrome but a piece of malware instead.
I assume the first option (i trust people very easily) but i am just human so i can be wrong.
Google says that it can not build it for below ICS but their arguments dont make sense so maybe everyone can help by telling google that they want google chrome.
Google will then reply that it will npt be the same as chrome for ICS but you can say that you just want it to be as similar as possible.
Locked.
KIDDING!
Hi all, I have a problem with Chrome. I'm using galaxy s5 and whenever I open the browser for the first time I get the message: Unable to access the network, but once I refresh the page it loads everything as it should. How do I fix it without having to constantly keep chrome in the RAM. Thanks

Even though my phone is an android phone I am in love with the Windows User Interface on their mobile devices. There is a WP7 launcher called launcher 7 that I consider is the best in the market. I will confess that I have never done an android app but I would love any type of help from you guys to help me create a WP8 launcher. thank you.

obviously there are some issues with the sense sms app (no group messaging, lagging, etc)
is there a way to add the stock android (probably needs to be modded) sms app to work on a stock evo lte?
I searched both the forum and 'the web' and I didn't see anything specific to non rooted phones (as I dont want to get into system level R/W stuff.
Thanks in advance.

thank you. This loads, but doesn't seem to have many features. I hope the real AOSP sms app has more bells and whistles (and more choices for layout/theming)
GO SMS Pro is popular if you like bells and whistles

Description:
Google PlayStore version: 4.6.17
Whats new:
This update bumps it up to version 4.6.17 and includes some nice features that should make the experience a whole lot better. One of our personal favorites is the ability to batch install apps. This should make life a whole lot easier whenever you’re loading all of your apps onto a new phone.
Another notable feature is that of new password options. Previously, there was an on/off toggle dealing with requiring passwords for purchases. That’s been replaced by three options: all purchases, every thirty minutes, or never. While most of us probably won’t notice this a whole lot, it should be good for parents with kids who often use their phones.
A few other updates were also thrown in such as some revised wording, ridding the settings overflow button and instead moving it to the slide-in menu, and after all these years, we finally have an option to manually check for updates to the Google Play Store. Nothing mind-blowing in this update, but it’s continued work towards a better Play Store.
