My yp-g1 won't update to gingerbread from froyo. I have tried through kies and through Odin but it gets stuck at a random percentage, I think it's when it is installing factory .rfs. i have tried multiple times, and i have updated it to gingerbread before but i had to factory reset it. Any help would be apreciated

ODIN back to stock, update to JI6 thru ODIN.
OK, im running into the same problem here, i already completed all of those steps.
I went back to stock (JF6) and now when i connect to Kies it states that the device is unregistered.
I went back to JI6 and KIES doesnt even recognizes the device. I did master clear and went back to ECLAIR JF6 and still nothing happens.
Anything that im doing wrong or what ?
problem was !
Dear gurus,
I was trying to update FW of my gt-i5510, via KIES. to 2.3
But during update process, KIES showed a message telling that reboot phone, disconnect and reconnect. I pressed power button. But it started a screen showing a message like
reboot system now
apply sdcard update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
#MANUEL MOde#
-applying Multi CSC....
but the option of the update didn't work so i chose the factory reset
after that i tried update again i found kies telling me that my firmware is up to date
i went to setting/about phone/and i found the android version is still 2.2
i am stuck to froyo
please help i want to have gingerbread
i am so depressed
i don't think kies would have said that because as far as i know 2.3 isn't out for our phone (officially)
Go here: http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/(development)-cyanogenmod-7-1-'galaxy5'-port/
OR
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149110
Read that, that's how you can get 2.3 on your phone.
thanks alot
thanks a lot but my phone is Samsung galaxy i5510 not galaxy i5500
i made sure that the update is official
the weird thing is i have froyo 2.2
and kies says i have the latest version
before the problem there was an update to gingerbread
after the problem i am still running froyo and there is no update
that kind of things makes me soo maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
Be gone, troll.
oh, yeah. The latest one out for that is 2.3.4.
Im not sure what you could do really though
Hi everyone,
I tried to update from Gingerbread 2.3.4 to ICS using KIES. When i ran KIES from my computer it found that my mobile needed to update. Now whilst it was updating it stopped at 87%.
So i followed the instructions to revert back to its original 2.3.4. however when it restarted it now says that i have the 4.0 update.
When i went through the mobile, i found that its kind of a mix between the 2.3.4 and 4.0 (some updates are there and some are not).
I tried to run the update again and it cannot find the update.
Is there a way to run the update again?
thanks guys
if your phone is messed up by the Keis, and no more recognizing your phone, I think the option left for you is to flash a Stock rom from ODIN.
hi guys, I need a major help with my phone..I did the update through kies from GB 2.3.6 to ICS..I loved the updated and everything buy my phone started to act really weird with red flashing lines on screen etc..I decided to go back to stock rom..so i flashed the ATTGalaxyS2Unroot_SGH-i777 using odin to my phone (which I used to go back stock when I rooted my phone) but after that my phone is acting crazy..the H+ 3g is dropping all the time, my SIM card signal drops as well, wifi no signal it went completed bizzare..on top of that kies is not recognizing my phone..another interesting thing is since I am running 2.3.4 gb now after the flashing when I go update firmware it detects the update (i believe is 2.3.6), download the file 20mb, restarts it but when the screen is white with a loading bar in the middle to do the update it stops @ 34% and says the update failed...any idea guys?
ps: when I update to ICS i didnt do a factory reset..maybe that was a problem? I just want my phone rocking again please..
Dan.
Do a factory reset and reflash update via KIES

If this does not work for you, you should flash back to stock UCKH7 before using kies to update. I'm not sure if you need to flash bootloaders and param.lfs as well. That galaxys2root unroot package is nasty with what it does to people's phone.
I have the AT&T SGS2. I had installed a few custom software a few months ago, but then I installed a stock 2.3.4 for the AT&T phone. The custom binary count is 1 on the recovery screen.
To upgrade to the official ICS from AT&T, I installed the latest KIES. It successfully detects the firmware update for the device. KIES starts installing and everything goes fine until almost very end. At 91%, installation fails giving the error message something like "Unexpected error. Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies & try again". I tried several times and same thing happens again. I also tried downloading the stock ICS and install it via ODIN, but same thing happened. It failed at the very end.
What could be happening here? Any advice? Can it be anything to do with the custom binary count? Thanks in advance...
Not sure what might be intefering with kies or Odin. Where did you get the tar that you flashed that failed?
You might try again, with the UCLE5 Stock ICS plus Root tar from the Development forum.
