hi guys, I need a major help with my phone..I did the update through kies from GB 2.3.6 to ICS..I loved the updated and everything buy my phone started to act really weird with red flashing lines on screen etc..I decided to go back to stock rom..so i flashed the ATTGalaxyS2Unroot_SGH-i777 using odin to my phone (which I used to go back stock when I rooted my phone) but after that my phone is acting crazy..the H+ 3g is dropping all the time, my SIM card signal drops as well, wifi no signal it went completed bizzare..on top of that kies is not recognizing my phone..another interesting thing is since I am running 2.3.4 gb now after the flashing when I go update firmware it detects the update (i believe is 2.3.6), download the file 20mb, restarts it but when the screen is white with a loading bar in the middle to do the update it stops @ 34% and says the update failed...any idea guys?
ps: when I update to ICS i didnt do a factory reset..maybe that was a problem? I just want my phone rocking again please..
Dan.

If this does not work for you, you should flash back to stock UCKH7 before using kies to update. I'm not sure if you need to flash bootloaders and param.lfs as well. That galaxys2root unroot package is nasty with what it does to people's phone.

Can someone confirm they have managed to successfully flash in Mobile Odin? Coming from GB are there issues to upgrade this way?
I have the firmware downloaded and unzipped on the INTERNAL memory, does it need to be in an external? Also... I have 3 files...
GT-I9100-MULTI-CSC-OXALPJ.tar
I9100_CODE_I9100XXLPJ_CL140368_REV02_user_low_ship.tar
MODEM_I9100XXLPJ_REV_02_CL1105553.tar
Im unsure of the process and where they should go. Ive heard of people flashing in multiple fields. Could someone please explain for my particular query? Thanks

I flashed LPQ using mobile Odin, but needed to do a wipe after the fact to stop a bootloop.
If you just load the files into Mobile Odin it'll put them where they're supposed to go, IIRC (I used the single file ROM, and it just filled everything in).
make sure you want to upgrade/flash xxlpq. i did and it works fine, but:
when charging, no flashing of lightning bolt in batt icon, drive and walk gone, voice search gone, touch screen not as responsive as with 2.3.4/5, it seems as if the phone slower and sluggish.
Flashing Upgrade
Hi. I'm a beginner. But I've flashed a few times some custom ROMs on my Galaxy S2 and every time they were successful. I always follow the instructions properly.
My question is : Can I flash the ICS XXLPQ (on top of Gingerbread 2.3.6 XWKL1 baseband DDKL1, kernel 2.6.35.7-i9100XWKL1-CL809037 [email protected] #2) , and keep all my old apps that I already have installed, just like it hapens if you update the firmware through Kies?
I don't want to backup anything using any tools to backup apps. Just want to mimic the Kies update, where you don't have to backup your apps manually and you still wouldn't lose them during the upgrade (if nothing odd happens!).
Thank you for your help.

flashed my sister's phone using odin and DXLP7 from DXKL3, and worked great, didn't even wipe data.
i did however wipe data on mine, since im using a MIUI. (flash using mobile ODIN)
GB 2.3.6 to ICS with Mobile Odin not successful
Hi, my SGS2 is currently on I9100DXKL3 (flashed via mobile odin) and rooted.
I downloaded I9100DXLP9 and used the usual way I did before in mobile odin (v 2.35) to flash i.e. Picked the file from internal memory, ticked on Everyroot, Inject etc...all the check box and clicked flashed. Mobile Odin ran the verification check file and than it just stops, it didnt hang, it just stops after running everything but it's didnt boot into recovery.
Is there anything I did wrong ?
Hi everyone,
I tried to update from Gingerbread 2.3.4 to ICS using KIES. When i ran KIES from my computer it found that my mobile needed to update. Now whilst it was updating it stopped at 87%.
So i followed the instructions to revert back to its original 2.3.4. however when it restarted it now says that i have the 4.0 update.
When i went through the mobile, i found that its kind of a mix between the 2.3.4 and 4.0 (some updates are there and some are not).
I tried to run the update again and it cannot find the update.
Is there a way to run the update again?
thanks guys
if your phone is messed up by the Keis, and no more recognizing your phone, I think the option left for you is to flash a Stock rom from ODIN.
Hi all, I bought an i9100 on ebay, but there is a pin on it, I know you can remove it by factory resetting, but I have no idea if it is using ICS and I don't want to brick it, is there any way to either find out what its running, or to remove the PIN in another way? I tried looking at it through kies to see if it was using GB or ICS but keis just asks for the PIN to be entered
Get the seller to tell you or youll send it back for a refund.

Why not flash speedmod kernel which doesn't have hard brick bug and then factory reset
~Sent from my Galaxy S2
factory resetting !
factory reset !! wil not brick your phone !!!if you have a original firmwere !
TRY ODIN ! Put a original s2 rom on it !
Don't be afraid !
OR
Use siyah kernel ! Very good !
If the ROM is 4.0.4, It might brick, but he can simply flash a new kernel and then wipe Or flash another ROM
Hi guys, thanks for your help, just to update what I did in the end, I flashed speedmod-kernel-s2-k2-21-Odin.tar using odin, which left me with a hung phone, then I flashed Siyah-s2-v4.1.5.tar, which made it work again, did a wipe/factory reset and it didn't brick my phone, then it asked me if i wanted to fix root which I said yes to and all is good, PIN lock gone and am using the phone, turned out it had 4.0.3 on it, anyway thanks again everybody

FYI,
SpeedMod K2 is for Gingerbread. (2.3.x)
SpeedMod K3 is for ICS. (4.0.x)
Which is why flashing K2-21 hung your phone.
Hi all, I've got a follow up question, after doing the above, my jig wasn't working on it so I had to install an older bootstrap, then I downloaded and installed the original vodaphone kernel that would have been on there before I changed it, but I still have root, my question is if I sell the phone will the next person be able to update it using Kies, Kies does show that an update is available and does start downloading it, but I cancelled it, is it safe or will it brick the phone? also I was thinking about debranding the phone, would that just involve flashing an official unbranded package such as I9100XWLP7_I9100XEULP5 or is there more to it than that? and if I did would Kies then work on that and update with the unbranded updates in future rather then vodaphone updates?
Hi All,
Noob here with what I think is a soft brick issue.
Under the battery it says Model: GT-i9100, SSN: i9100GSMH
Originally Gingerbread, then I upgraded to 4.03 via official Kies firmware release.
Couple of days ago tried to upgrade to 4.04 using ODIN and got a fail at factoryfs.img. probably used the wrong firmware.
Could still get into download mode at that stage, but can't anymore. I tried to install a couple of different firmware versions of 4.04. I can still get 'added' when I connect to ODIN though.
Can somebody please help me to upgrade to either 4.04 or Jellybean? I'm willing to go fully custom, just don't know how to do it....Can I do it with ODIN? Do i need a new kernel or pit or something?
Thanks heaps, really appreciate any help.
Cheers,
Jackson
Given you can't get into download mode (and I presume the phone won't boot & you can't get into recovery either ?) it's either a JTAG or service centre job.

Hi Mistah Bungle, thanks for your reply.
So is that even though the phone shows up as added in ODIN?
J
If the phone shows 'added' in Odin (yet the phone show no signs of life whatsoever; you still haven't clarified this btw), then you might as well try flashing a stock rom & see what happens. I mean, the phone's borked. It probably won't work, but it's not like you'll bork it worse if you do try another flash.
Forget about upgrading to 4.0.4 for now. Just download a stock firmware for you phone no matter Gingerbread or ICS. Search this forum, you'll find many links. Connect your phone to Odin and try flashing the downloaded stock firmware. Once you get it up and running, you can try upgrading it.
In this situation, it wouldn't be wise to go for a custom firmware. Your best chance of bringing your phone back to life lies in successfully flashing a stock firmware.
No problem if the screen isn't showing anything. I remember Vibrant behaving like this. Just flash the firmware once Odin detects your phone. If the flashing fails, disconnect, take out the battery and start over.
Good Luck!
Hi Guys, thanks for the updates. I'll try to suss out what the correct stock option is and try my luck. and yeah, for clarification purposes - the phone doesn't respond to anything bar an Odin connection as far as I can see. Cheers again )
Hello,
I hope someone can help me, I have this problem with a friend's Galaxy Ace S5830M, at the beginning it only reboot with the sim on, I downloaded kies and update the firmware to the latest version but it has the same problem so I look in to google and find some "solution", flash the S5830C fw (4 Files, BOOT, PDA, PHONE and CSC) with ODIN 1.85 so I did that but now the phone reboots even without a sim card on it, I tried to reflash the stock rom, I downloaded ODIN 3.07 and flashed the original Telcel .md5 fw wich I found on sammobile/firmwares and the phone is still rebooting, I have noticed that the phone reboots right when the media scanner is at 30%, the phone doesnt have a SD card on it.
I already tried to flash numerous fw that I found on sammobile and some others that I found here (I got an SD card, rooted the phone, used CWM and installed roms from there but the phone is still rebooting with the media scanner).
The phone always reboots when the media scanner its running and with or without and SD card, I already tryied flashing the stock rom checkin the re-partition box in ODIN but the problem persist.
Anyone have an idea on how to fix this? I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks.

Is the phone under warranty?
If it is, then flash stock ROM and without rooting or installing CWM, go to Samsung Service Centre and explain the problem
Don't tell them anything about rooting or anything!
