Hi,
I'm trying to build the AOSP ICS launcher so that it works for any ICS device. I've downloaded the ICS source, and did a make Launcher2 to get a Launcher2.apk and Launcher2.odex. I've then tried to adb install Launcher2.apk to 2 different ICS devices - an international Samsung Galaxy S3 and a HTC Desire Z running Andromadus mimicry 1.5.0 based on ICS. In both instances I get an INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT error.
I'm suspecting that either my apk is odexed, and I need to deodex it to make it install, and/or that the installation failed because the ICS launcher makes use of private APIs that neither device has.
What do I need to do to make the AOSP ICS launcher install and run correctly on generic ICS devices?
Thanks!

I hate touchwiz, i find it so damn ugly, ics looks so much better to me but samsung never releases their propietary drivers and we're stuck with half working aosp roms, so the only solution i can come up with is use the stock samsung ics firmware but get rid of their apps ( gallery, dialer, samsung apps, email client, read hub... ) and then install on top the stock ics apps, is it possible or will i break something?
try westscrips ressurection rom. Works perfect.

Hi, I would like to install ICS without Samsungs twLauncher but as close as possible to the default one that Nexus would have for example if not the actual default? Can anyone recommend the best rom to flash? Also not looking for a launcher like GO.
So yea basically Googles Android launcher and not the Samsung one
Thanks
Get the Wanam Blue ICS.
or if you dont want to change roms, maybe extract the apk from the wanamlite, or find a download for stock launcher and install it
1) Does this launcher work on i9100 Galaxy S2, because many sites redirects to that page, even if the phone is not i9000. If it will not work, what will?
1a) I assume this launcher changes the icons from stock android to Touchwiz looking? If not, what does then?
2) How can i get the closest Touchwiz look on CM10? Can i get any Samsung based applications and widgets, like clock, or weather? I dont like the look of pure vanilla Jelly Bean Android. I understand, that CM10 is currently a preview, and not fully stable, but when it comes out from the ''beta'', i assume things will work better on it?
3) Samsung based roms with customizations would be best. I see, that there are no 4.1.1 based S-based roms. Is that because Samsung hasn't released official 4.1.1 firmware for i9100?
3a) That means that Samsung based Touchwiz things only work on newer versions of Android, if Samsung supports them, with new official roms?
4) What is the talk about people wanting Samsung based (Touchwiz) camera on custom roms?
5) HTC Sense look would also be nice on Jelly Bean. Is that possible? Sense 3, or 4, both look nice.
I appreciate for every answer :good:
guys I wanna port the music app from stock ICS 4.0.4 to CM10 and i failed doing that can anybody help me?
I think music app in stock ICS needs Samsung frameworks to work, and CM10 hasn't these frameworks. Not only music app, other stock apps don't work in AOSP based roms. (Samsung Apps, Radio, ...) If only some one know which Samsung framework files needed, and make a flashable package, we may use stock apps in other AOSP roms
hey guys, this may be getting into the realm of a "stupid question" but I'm wondering if there's any way to get the samsung dive service working on a custom rom. I know the few roms that I tried that were based on touchwiz already had it activated and working. What I'm thinking about is the other AOSP based roms that are almost plain jane jelly bean (4.1.1 or 4.1.2).
is there an apk or some update.zip I can install and get that option back, not that I really ever used it but still, it would be nice

Also looking for. Just updated my S2 to JB 4.1.2 and Samsungdive is gone
In order for non-stock ROMs to work with Samsungdive (which I am very found of, BTW), there are 2 requirements:
1) It must be based on a stock ROM
2) the samsung framework must be kept in the ROM along with a few other samsung components that make the link between the device and the SamsungDive servers
Unfortunatly SamsungDive is heavily dependant on the Samsung framework, so if either one of the above is not true, it isn`t gonna work.
Forget about using it on AOSP, AOKP, MIUI, etc, because they don`t have the Samsung Framework (obviously).
