[Q] Problem With Clockworkmod - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear friends,
My Mobile is Galaxy S2 GT-I9100
Android Version 4.1.2
Baseband Version I9100XXLS6
Rooted with PhilZ-cwm6=XXLSJ-OXX-3.73-signed
I have the following very serious problem.
After starting, for a few minutes every thing works Ok.
Suddenly a lot of applications does not work.
Example:
Gallery gives the following Message
"Not enough Space........"Sygic gives the following Message
"SD card is locked
My external SD Card is 32 GB and used to work perfectly.
I have
Formated the SD
Unmound and mound.
I thing that the problem comes from a directory in the SDcard0 with the name clockworkmod.
The backup has created a directory with the name μ012-1~1.4 5.6 GB
The files in this directory have names with special characters and the UID is blank.
I CAN NOT DELETE THIS DIRECTORY OR THE FILES IN IT.
I tried to delete these Backups from recovery mode through the option
DELETE BACKUP FROM INTERNAL STORAGE BUT :crying::crying:
Is there any advice?
Does any body knows if the problem comes from what I describe (Clockworkmod internal storage backup)?

Put sdcard to cardreader and format or delete that cwm files in pc.

Thanks for the advice.
But the files are on the SDcard0 which is the phone internal card.
Not the ExtCard which is the USB card.

Confusion about SD-Card in Samsung Galaxy SII

Hello All,
Just got a white one without any external SD-Card (the micro SD) installed. I was able to root it using the CF-ROOT V5.0 guide which is an excellent resource for noobs like me.
Using the CWM (which shows in the applications menu after the root) I was able to take phone complete backup.
Now the confusion begins that even though there was no external SD card installed the backup took place and then it was saved in
Code:
/sdcard/Clockworkmod/backup/folder_name_date_time
Infact /sdcard is the home directory to start with, which is shown when I browse files using the built-in file manager called "My Files".
So when is there is no SD-Card installed, why is the internal home directory called SD-Card , where the nandroid backups are saved automatically ? (i guess the internal storage is also called SD-Card, is it so ? bad naming idea then)
Now I did install a 2GB external SD-card and formatted it using the storage options within the settings menu.
So apparently this (actual) SD-card is mounted in the directory called
Code:
/sdcard/external_sd
Then again I tried taking a nandriod backup hoping that it would automatically detect this available external sd card and would save the backups, which did not happen and the nandroid again took backup to the internal SD storage.
So how to direct nandroid to take and place backups on the external SD card.?
Secondly I have also read about the Sd-Ext partition, can someone please explain what is this partition , how is it made, and what is the benefit of using this partition. Can i make it a default location for installing application and what other uses can I have of an SD-Ext partition.?
Do i need App2SD and Link2SD in order to use SD-ext partition for any purposes.?
If I take a backup again using nadriod would it place it on the SD-Ext partition or the left over space in the regular SD card partition. ?
Thanks a lot for reading and clearing up my confusion mentioned above.
Internal card is named SD card in CWM .
Me i just copy the clockwork backup folder to PC and External SD card .

i still didn`t resolve the problem :-??
On teamhacksung's ROM (and on many other such as CyanogenMod) your external sdcard is mounted in a different path: you can find it in "/mnt/emmc/" or "/emmc/".

After root, problems with SD card and Internal Memory

Hi all,
Few days ago rooted my i9100 after upgrade to 4.1.2. Now I noticed problems with memory cards. Some programs can't save logs (Torque) other (Zedge) tells me "Please insert SD card".
SD card is inside, and is fully working. Reformatted few time just to check. Everything looks to be fine, but there is still problem.
So what could happen?
In /mnt/ i have extSdCard, sdcard, and other folders. In /sdcard/ i see same files like in /mnt/sdcard/. But in /sdcard/ (or /mnt/sdcard) I don't have external_sd folder. Nothing like that.
Does it mean I have to create it myself and bind it to /mnt/extSdCard?
Why I need to do such things manually after root? Why stock rom and stock kernel doesn't do these things automaticly?
What is happening?
p.s
After I connect my phone to PC, I can't create folder in root of my phones internal memory. Writing blocked? Why the f....?

Ok, I think I found the problem. I reformatted both, internal and external memory, and everything looks now to be fine.
Some kind of error was in Android folder. There was at least 10 files, that I couldn't copy, and I didn't care. Didn't copy whole android folder at all.

[Q] Stuck in Samsung logo screen

Hi,
I messed up with the Android software, i installed chainfire app from the Play store and tried running it, After it ran the phone rebooted and got stuck in Welcome screen, I did soft reset by pulling out the battery for 10 mins , but it didnt help.
Now the thing is i dont want to lose my sensitive data. P.s I can enter into CWM recovery mode and also my phone is rooted with Omega ROM 4.1.2. I can see the file structure of my internal SDcard through the install from Internal SDcard Menu, But when i go to the mounts and storage menu and mount the SDcard it says there is an error mounting SDcard, I want to take backup of my folders before preforming a hard reset
I tried fetching files through ADB Shell installed on my PC, But it didnt help , I can see all the folders including SDcard and SDcard1, but both folders are empty without any data, i am sure since i was not able to mount the SDcard it was displaying empty folder. But my question is im able to explore all the folders in my internal SD in recovery mode through the "Install from Internal SDcard menu"
Is there any way to recover the files ?....The only way i can think of is to transfer the Same ROM zip file to Ext SD Card and perform the installation of ROM from recovery mode and again my doubt is will it affect the data on my internal SD card
Is there any way to backup my files from SDcard to PC.

flashing the same rom.zip from ext sd card does not wipe internal data.

Ok.....My question is why i am not able to mount my Internal SD card in recovery mode and take a backup through ADB in PC.
Is it that CWM doesnt support mounting the Internal SD card...has anyone tried mounting the internal SD card in recovery mode.

when there is no data loss, why backing up via pc again? when you flash rom.zip through ext sd card, the system boots normally into OS. then you may backup the data to pc and perform hard reset as you wish.

[Q] Error mounting externalSD on CWM on SGSIII (i9300)

Hi,
Three weeks ago I had my SGSIII rooted and with a custom ROM and regular backup in the external SD card and everything was working OK.
I wanted to remove all the information form the internal memory and decided to format the internal memory, so using CWM (6.0.4.7) I made all the wipes and formatted:
/system
/cache
/preload
/data
I think that one of those formats was the source of the error, but I don't know which one!
Afterwards I tried to access the externalSD card from the restore menu to restore one of my NAND backups, but the extrenalSD card was not accessible (E: Can't mount /storage/sdcard1) neither from the install zip menu (same error). the SD card was OK because was workable in another phone. I tried to mount the external SD card from the mounts and storage menu but gave an error (Error mounting /storage/sdcard1!)
Since I could not restore my NAND backups, I restored the stock ROM (JB 4.3) using odin and afterwards I rooted the phone and install again CWM (6.0.4.7) but the problem persisted and now I am using the stock ROM and can access the external SD card from android normally.
I have looked about this error and all the cases I have found are using older versions of CWM and recommend to format the external SD card, so I did, but the problem persisted.
So my questions are:
- What have I done wrong?
- How can I fix it?
Afterwards I thought that I could copy the NAND backup from the external SD to the internal memory so I made NAND backup to see where it was stored, but using ultra explorer I cannot find the location (furthermore, according to the DiskUsage App the space is used but does not inform me where it is).
I have asked Google for the location of the backups in the internal memory (I can not recall such locations) but the folders did not exist or where empty. So:
- Is it possible to copy a backup from the external SD card into the internal memory?
- How can it be done?
Thanks in advance for your help and sorry for the lengthy post.
