Does anyone think its worth it to sell/trade my GS3 and my ASUS Transformer Infinity Tablet to get the Galaxy Note II? Why or why not?

I would jump on that in a second if the GS3 and Infinity were perfect condition.
Yes

I'd say a gs3 and infinity tab is definitely worth more than a Note 2. If you desperately want a note 2, I would make sure you get a bit of cash also in the trade. I came from a gs3 and while the note 2 is undoubtedly better, I don't think the difference is worth a high end tablet.

Agreed. I would never trade my Infinity and a GS3 for a Note 2. But I would trade my Note 2 for a GS3 and an Infinity.
Well I definitely know my gs3 and infinity are worth more, I like having the combo of a high end tablet and the gs3, but sometimes feel like it's to much. I'm gonna think on this one for a bit. Btw, they are both in perfect condition, and I have 2 brand new docks for the tablet thanks to the foul up by Amazon...lol

Sell it. You may like the Note 2 more but if that fits you well now, I'm not sure you'll appreciate the compromise.
you can easily sell the infinity tablet for 400 and the gs3 for 350. that's more than enough to buy the note II. I still have my inifinity though. Sometimes having a 5.5" screen still isn't big enough.

That's what is in the back of my mind as well... my hands aren't that big so a note seems like it would take a while to adjust to the size. and the screen size on my infinity is awesome. maybe this was a dumb thread to start...lol

I got them around the same time, and I believe that I'll be returning the iPad to Best Buy tomorrow. The Note has pretty much made the iPad unecessary. I didn't think it would fill the void of a tablet, but it definitely has.
Anyone else put their tablets to rest after getting the Note?
I actually got my ipad as a gift of my girlfriend, and hardly use it the note wins hands down,I can do whatever I want, watch movies in mkv, flac support, add music without itunes etc.etc
Hardly use it

I think once i get an extended battery i will say the same. Right now the battery life on the Note just isn't close to a Tablet. If I get that Mugen 5400 I think I will quickly forget about the Tablet ;-)

I solved this with the Samsung charger/battery combo. It's great to be able to swap batteries.
To me, tablets are giant phones that don't make calls. So with the Note, I get near small tablet size while being able to still use it as a phone. I love it. I agree with the OP, I don't need a tablet with the Note.
Not exactly the same but for me I refused to get a tablet, I just don't like the form factor of having a large slate. I knew something smaller and more manageable would come out and the gnote is it.

Last month, I decided to buy a handgun instead of the new iPad. No regrets since I did have the iPad 2 and it was collecting dust.

I have a Xoom too and do not use it nearly as much as I used to. The Note pretty much does everything I need, probably won't sell the Xoom though.

Same here man! My iPad is work issue. Yet I find myself using it far less than the Note. The fun factor on the Note is infinitely higher.

I rarely use my tablet anymore.
Note > iPad
I sold my ipad last week to get some money back for other gadgets. I do miss it a bit like using it lounging on the couch. You can just see more of a web page as i dont use my laptop much anymore. I think i really just miss those 99 cent ios games that me and the little one used to comlete for high scores in like Rat on a skateboard and Rat On A Snow board that the play store does not have. But i agree having both is a bit redundant. Not that i game much on my phone anyway, i mainly due that on Xbox. But i must say i did find myself playing games more than normal while i had my iPad. Perhaps i was just bored lol. It's those dinky little games that seem to get you hooked! Especially the ones where you compete for high scores!

I never actually purchased a tablet for myself, since I always viewed them as nothing more than expensive 'toys'.
I only borrowed various ones from family and friends, ranging from ipad to transfer to galaxy tabs. Since I figured I would barely use a tablet that I purchased, I figured what's the point of getting 1 then.
But analysts recently have been saying that the avg tablet price may get 50% cheaper by the end of this year...so if that's really the case, then I may re-consider buying one then.
I use both of them daily, but at home I'm on my ipad2 99% of the time. Between the bigger screen and the battery life, not to mention the games its hard to compare the 2.

I really like my note because of the gorgeous screen but Im thinking about possibly upgrading to the s3 but is it worth it?
Specs wise, S3 is not much better, correct?
Is quadcore worth the upgrade? I heard that the battery life for s3 is pretty good. The battery life for ghetto note is not too impressive.
So what do you guys think?

This falls into the shiny category.
The S3 is new, but has some dev work explosion atm. The note has a huge screen and spen.
Go anđ try a smaller screen for a while, you'll get annoyed quickly.
If you are going to get the S3, import it, as lte in canada isn't really anywhere significant.
I would stick with the note and wait for the note2 or whatever replacement some big dog lets loose.

Sell me your Note if you upgrade!
well i bought my note mainly for the size of the screen
anything less than 5.3 is not an upgrade for me
since you already have a note, all new phones that come out have the advantage of using the latest technology. once you get the s3,in 3 month, something better, maybe even a note 2 might release..... see where im going?? The only advantage is the screen: most new phones have the technology, most dont come close to the note screen size though. Like the 2020 iphone might fly in the sky on its own, but still doubt it will have at least a 5.3" screen (since they only make one phone and it has to appeal to ALL of its users)

I might could work up a "upgrade frenzy" for a Gnote II since, by the time it would be ready for market, it should be ready to intergrate enough new tech with even a sweeter 5.3" screen to make it too enticing to ignore. Until that day arrives, I plan on teasing as much pleasure from this gspot. ..(damn spell check),um er, from this gnote..as can be had by mortal man...... : ) ....

Well, there's going to be a Note 2 later this year, and it should have similar specs to the S3 with an even larger screen than the OG Note.

I just sold my Note i717 and am happy with my decision.
However, I am one of those who was never able to get used to the immense size of the Note, so if you like the overall size of the Note (or if the overall size isn't enough of a problem to outweigh the benefits of the huge screen), then you probably will want to hold off buying anything until Note 2 is out.
From as objective a standpoint as possible though, I have yet to find any major flaws with the S3 and although I that I was just downgrading the size of the device while making a lateral software move, I was wrong; the software additions on the S3 as well as the form and function of the S3 are top notch to the point where it's almost hard to believe both phones were released in the same calendar year.
Not sure how much that helps you as it seems like so much rambling when I reread it, but.... Lol

I would go with Samsung and their Note tablet if you can wait they seem to have their products running pretty good (Galaxy S3) with their hardware and software, and they have good development here for their devices. I wish the Samsung Note Tablet with their CPU and hardware was out when I was deciding what to spend my $650 on.
I would wait before purchasing an Asus tablet again and see if they can fix their I/O performance problems if I were you. The Prime, Nexus 7, TF700, yeah they look nice but looks can be very deceiving as we know (Example= Prime).
IF Asus ever gets the I/O problems fixed then the TF700 or the Nexus 7 could be good choices. I wouldn't buy anything from Asus (Tablets) until you see if they can fix their current issues because if they cant fix the Primes performance they wont fix the TF700 of Nexus 7.
As an owner of the Prime I feel we were basically beta testers for the TF700. I refuse to recommend any Asus tablets after being used as a beta tester they got me once but not going to happen again. The bad part is I had to pay $650 to be beta tester!
Tablets are suppose to be a fun enjoyable experience not as frustrating as its been with the prime, we keep hearing they got an update coming out that's going to fix all the issues, but every time we get an update it does not deliver!

I doubt it. the rear camera was cut out to save on costs. Even without rear camera, its a great deal.
There is a slight chance that down the road, once manufacturing costs drop for this device, they "Might" release a revised version with rear cam. I doubt it though. never say never though

I would wait to see what Samsung is bringing next. If Samsung's next top tier tab comes with a Exynos 5250 it will be far superior to any Tegra powered device. But for $200 a Nexus 7 would be a great buy even if you end iPhone getting a 10" down the road. I bought a GTab 2 7" and think I like the size better than 10".

Hey there,
The N4 is a stellar device! The price that Google is selling it is great, too.
If you can deal with the following:
No mico-sd card
No battery exchange
Smaller screen
No Pen
Other than that, everything else is an upgrade!
It also depends on what you bought the Note for originally. I bought it as a middle-ground of my phone and tablet so I didn't have to take two things around on normal days since I like to read manga and stuff.
Again, at that price, you could easily use the N4 until the next device comes out that you might want (e.g. S4 or Note 3 perhaps?) then sell the N4.
EDIT: Oh yeah, it's a Nexus device so less waiting games for updates if you like cutting-edge OS software. This is something I'm VERY interested in if the S4/Note3 don't do it for me, I'd think about the next Nexus. If the pricing is the same, it's a deal!
Well I got my nexus today and sold my note two days ago for 350 got nexus for 350 from somebody because long waits on shipping but my first thoughts untied unrooted is small feels small AT FIRST ONLY... Screen is beautiful sharp crisp it feels very nice in my hands my thumb reached both sides of keyboard again lol is fast as hell and so responsive and it is very sexy
