So, i flashed qualcomm bootloader, installed custom rom (rainbowmod) and now i would like to go stock. The question is can i get my warranty back this way? Can they find out i have been on custom rom and had qualcomm bootloader?? Someone, who knows more about this stuff can tell me please.

Hey guys I'm asking on behalf of my gf (i have htc sensation xe, so i'm not using lame excuses ) Her phone is not rooted (yet ) and I'm wondering whether is possible to unroot the atrix 4g so that it goes back to "brand new"/out of the factory status and there are no warranty problems related to the rooting.
Also: is it possible to flash a custom rom without unlocking the bootloader (so that warranty is not voided)? And does going s-off void the warranty as well?
Thanks in advance for the support!

I seem to recall that it is possible to unroot your phone (but you'll have to look around here), when you do unlock the bootload an 'unlocked' appears on the left hand screen when the rom is loading.
Anyways, see how you go with reading the above guides
There is no way to flash a custom ROM without custom recovery, which needs an unlocked BL.
S-OFF does not exist on the Atrix.
I have a short question.
If I buy a Nokia Lumia 800 WITH sim-lock, can I unlock the phone by flashing a custom ROM?

He buddy, good to see you back here, still wondering what happened with your Lumia 710, ok to get back to your question it's not possible to make your phone sim unlocked by flashing a custom rom.
Greetz,
Hey Rataplan,
As you know I broke my Lumia 710. I sold the phone for 30 euros.
As i have no money I had to save for a new phone.
So I bought a Nokia E6 for 70 euros, sold it for 90.
Bought a Samsung Galaxy S(1) for 75 and sold it for 100..
Good business for me
Now I have the opportunity to buy a Nokia Lumia 800 for 120 euros. But I have to figure out if this one has a simlock or not..
I let you know and as soon I got the phone, I'll be back here
Thanks for you answer!!
Hi,
no you can NOT SIM-unlock your L800 by flashing a custom rom.
But, for being able to flash a custom rom, you need to have to swap your DLOAD bootloader to the qualcomm one.
If you do this yourself using ATF box, you can easily sim-unlock your phone using ATF as well.
If you let your L800 get bootloader unlocked in a "special store", please tell them to also sim-unlock your L800.
BUT be carefull: this sim-unlock is only a PATCH-unlock, which means if you full-flash your phone, you'll overwrite the patched amss & adsp files of your phone, which cause your phone to be locked again.
But if you stay with qualcomm and custom roms, you're fine

Hi, finally I got my Lumia 800! Very exiting haha!
But, I am too afraid to unlock and flash a custom rom again. Too afraid to brick my phone again, so I think I'm leaving it the way it is..
Thanx Lordmaxi for your information. But to go from DLOAD to Qualcomm is difficult isn't it? if I read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39508229&postcount=2
I don't think I want to go trough all that trouble..
Anyway, I'm sticking with original firmware and stuff. If I change my mind, I will be back here!!
Hi all ,
quick question for the experienced , got an s3 and have been installing roms etc and working fine, however i paid a local shop to unlock stock rom 4.3, as they couldn't do it on a custom rom, so i flashed it back to stock with kies and its working perfect
my question is , i wanna flash to a custom rom(archidroid), but i worried that i may lose my carrier unlock , the shop used some kind of box to unlock it ??
so if i flash it , what should i not do and what should i do to not lose the carrier unlock , the phone is rooted and unlocked on stock 4.3,
any help would be greatly appreciated
The carrier unlock is permanent. You cannot relock it.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
Hi everyone,
I want to buy an Xperia X. The version I would buy (F5121) is branded by an Italian carrier (TIM). Could I install an unbranded stock rom on it ? Do I need do unlock the bootloader or something, voiding the warranty? I'm asking because I would like to receive software updates as soon as possible.
Thanks everyone.
You can use flashtool to flash any stock rom you want. No need to unlock bootloader so you wont void warranty

In case of problems in the future, could I bring the device directly to sony with the unbranded firmware (FULL STOCK, NO ROOT AND LOCKED BOOTLOADER) or do I have to revert it to the original stock branded firmware? I'm afraid that thay could maybe refuse my warranty.
Thanks

the last time I returned a sony phone I relocked the bootloader and flashed a stock ftf. It was no problem. Dont think it matters if its branded or not
Although we all read the disclaimer ("Your warranty is now void [...]") everywhere, is this really true?
Suppose I unlocked my bootloader, flashed some custom ROMs, but then decided I needed my warranty - couldn't I just return to stock and relock the bootloader?
Could they still find out and how?
This is only a general question, I'm not in urgent need for help.
