If they can sort the sharpness out a little then I'll be really happy.
The noise levels, contrast and dynamic range is good.
wow,
last photo is amazing
Thanks. Just a quick snap of some flooding near me just before sunset, which along with sunrise is the best time to be shooting landscapes. The sun is a bit overblown though.
But if you look at the edges of the photo it's not as sharp which I put down to the lens. I think we expect too much of these tiny lenses and a smaller aperture would be better for sharpness, but most camera phones have large ones. f2.0 on the 920 and f2.2 on others.
All I wish for is spot focus on the Nokia 920.
Really nice picture

Here are a couple of shots. They were taken from the same place, just at different times. They've been edited a bit in Creative Studios, but other than that no extra processing.

Mine have been slightly color-adjustedin Nokia Creative Studios. Facebook compressed some of my images. In original shots, I'm not too worried about the sharpness.
I've been incredibly impressed with it, especially in low light, I can't get over how well the photos come out.
Used the flash once, ever since have kept it off!
Here's my shot:
https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=18ba2af3d9fec455&id=18BA2AF3D9FEC455%21610&sff=1
Best mobile camera I have experienced so far.
Alright, a few more shots. As usual, the only editing is from Nokia Creative Studios. All are pre-Portico except for the pizza and the water tank.
Played around with some settings. Higher exposure (2/3) is really good for food shots!
I noticed sharpness was better on computer than on screen... I really don't complain about sharpness, and video is really awesome. I love this phone (but not going to marry it)

That was actually my dog jumping when i snapped the shot. He loves the snow. Notice no blur. He is black though so with a White background with the snow, it's hard to make his face out unless you manually adjust the contrast and brightness. Not bad though, pure black dogs are hard to take pictures of.
The area to the left of your dog is tinged pink. It's quite obvious.
No reason for anyone to get twisted up over it, but the Titan suffers from a pink tinge. There's even a thread about it in this forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441967
I love my Titan and think the camera is great. I hope they can fix the pink tinge with an update. Maybe some variants have fixed it already and some of us see it and some don't?

That's a picture i took on my galaxy nexus. Surprisingly the nexus has better indoor performance in my experience. I don't like the way the Titan handles the auto flash. It focus' then the flash comes on twice then the picture is taken, resulting in over exposed or out of focus snaps. The titan is great for outdoor pics though. I'll upload some when I can. (Can't find a way of uploading pics from the gallery on board express on WP7)

Hey guys,
I just wanted to know if the update improved the Cameras photo quality?
I've just read alot of negative remarks towards the initial camera, and was curious if they were fixed. Such as the white-balance
Thanks
Personally I find the camera quality (before and after update) to be below average. Compared to friends' phones (iPhone, Samsung Galaxy etc) the images from the Lumia 800 are inferior in terms of sharpness, colour balance etc... that's my only gripe now... the rest of the device is v good now that .12070 is installed.

I have to contradict this to an extent, With good and correct lighting the Lumia can easily out perform than most phones on the market, However with medium to low lighting conditions it does struggle immensely. I could link you to a 720p video i recorded outside in broad daylight with my Lumia the quality is magnificent. I think being 8MP it performs as it should and exceeds average with the correct lighting.
My gripe is that when recording video the microphone records too much noise and lacks richness, It needs what the HTC Titan has which is by far better and isn't far behind professional quality.
The camera itself is good, but the software/drivers are not good at all.
Please wait until the camera update comes out which should improve the camera quality a lot. With proper software this phone can take really good pictures.
Still pictures have lots of noise and stretched pixels and artifects. However on the other hand I found the HD video quality to be very very good.
With the promised camera software update this will likely improve a lot.
The auto white-balance behaviour has been much improved. However I still rely on manual settings for best results.

Question; wasnt the "promised camera update" part of 12070 or is there another update announced in the works?

Even after the update, I think I still got better pics with my cheapo HD7 and when I was on Android, the Samsung Vibrant..

No this update did not include camera improvements as far as I know, only a whitebalance correction maybe… nothing major on the camera department, but this has said to be part of a next firmware update. The battery fix was being prioritized (quite logical) and hence pushed out early without an upgrade to the camera software.

Nice pic.
I agree that given a strong source of light from any part of the frame, the Lumia camera with the update stands well on its own. Problem is low light levels it underperforms against even a cheap HD7. This is also unedited, taken just last Sunday when my nephew turned Eagle in BSA. Shot in a fluorescent room with no other lighting.
No burn mark anymore thank God or other obvious flaws, but still nothing spectacular..

The blur is probably because a phone's shape doesn't lend itself to taking a shot AND holding the phone still. Also, the sensor is teensy tiny, and it doesn't have a very fast "shutter speed". So, it's like taking pics with an SLR in dim light with a 1/30 second shutter: it's going to have motion blur w/o a stand. If you want crystal clear shots, use a vise/stand of some kind.
Maybe Canon's or Nikon's next pro-sumer DSLR will make/receive calls, texts, and play Angry Birds.
I use CameraZoomFX which lets me prop the phone and 'tell' the camera to take the picture hands-free. Those shots are always very clear. Handheld shots, not so much.

Oh will be nice to have a call with a 70-200 2.8 in hand
Okay, I'm lost....
Can anyone who still had pics prior to the leaks and NOW have one of the leaks post comparison pics? I mean seriously, as crisp as the photos are on GB, I can't see how there's such a need for enhancement to the razr's photo quality that it warrants a full thread. lol I'm still on a totally stock GB rom (anxiously biting my nails waiting for the update) and I'm ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHED at how crisp and detailed the camera's photos are.
Lol. Calls will be short with that lens on there. It would be funny though, seeing how huge people's arms get from holding a 4 kilo phone all day. They'd look like hermit crabs.
yeah its with ics leaks .204 let me look at my fb pictures maybe i got one with GB
i found one with GB
BTW - I've tried all of the "pro" camera apps available, and Camera FV-5 is easily the best one.
As to pictures on ICS vs GB, at least on .79, there isn't a huge change. It's all in the app you use.
The stock camera app on ICS seems to focus better prior to capture.
A good camera app should be able to take the same quality pic on GB as it would on ICS unless there was a flaw in the camera drivers under GB, which I don't think there was.
The Razr seems to have a decent sensor, but cheap / small optics. Don't get me wrong, it does take pretty good shots, but not like you'd see on a newer device with bigger, higher quality lenses. The sensor is only half of the battle, but people give the megapixel count all of their attention.
Some of the newer cams (like the OneX) have better optics and you can tell the difference right away. Plus a bigger lens helps keep noise down in dark shots.
Hey all,
Although i haven't found any reviews after today's Google event with test pictures. theverge.com has " the first images from the new Nexus 5X and 6P camera". I'm unsure of the EXIF data on these, but its a start... enjoy!

I hope that was a really early pre-production unit because that's not very promising for all the hype they pumped at the event.
The bench one isn't focused properly.
The night time cityscape has a ton of noise and poor focus.

Looks pretty good to me. I don't think it will be anywhere near S6 though. The selfie camera on S6 Edge is unreal. It makes you look better than you actually look in real life which I'm assuming is part software too lol.

Compared to the crap that other Nexus devices shot these look quite good. Are they Note 5 quality? No. I don't think they are bad though in the slightest.

haha that's exactly what my wife kept saying about the G4, the selfie camera on the G4 imo is better than the Moto X Pure and the OPT.
I thought the pictures above were fine.
As long as it's better than the G4 like some reviewers have mentioned I'll be happy
I'm looking at the pictures on my iMac at work and I have the brightness pumped up just to see how good they are... I must say, I'm pretty impressed! I'm not sure what kind of quality you guys are looking for but I suggest you go buy a camera at this point. It's a SMARTPHONE first then somewhere down the line it's a Camera as well. Let's not confuse what we're investing our hard earned money into.
many of the photos that are going to be posted by Googlers will have filters applied im assuming (all stuff that can be done right in the photos app or snapseed). but for point and shoot, i think they are pretty impressive for the stock nexus camera app which usually isn't up to par.

Hey guys, I have a wondefoo PX-5 Android 8.0 Headunit.
I'm pretty much satisfied with it but as I live in a very warm and sunny country, I almost can't see anything on my headunit as it's simply isn't bright enough.
The brightness is set to the maximum, and i've tried the trick with the "reverse camera brightness" which didn't help at all.
I started this thread on the hardware development as i'm sure it's a hardware "problem", and not software related.
Is there any fix to my issue? Even a paid one like an upgraded panel or something like that.
It hurts too much to "throw away" a 350$ headunit which is OEM look to my car.
Thanks, in advanced.
Try to tint your windows to dim down the light on your car.

One thing I have noticed is that there is a gap between the glass and the screen, its about 2mm at a guess. I have got a few specs of dust in there already, I don’t know if it makes a difference on how bright the screen looks in sunlight, my phone screen is laminated to the glass and looks brighter.
Turning my headlights off made the brightness increase a lot.
