Bootloop, out of ideas - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Dirty racuun s-off
hboot 1.19.2222
Recovery -twrp 2.3.3.1
rom-mean bean
Everytime it powers up i get white htc screen for about 10 seconds then black screen then back to white htc screen. i can get to bootloader but when i try to got to recovery it goes to white htc screen with red letters htc dev letters for about 10 secs then black screen and back to the white htc screen and then just loops from there. tried fastboot flashing recovery twrp 2.3.3.1 and 2.3.3.3. also fastbot erased cache and rebooted, no difference. fastboot flashed boot.img from the rom i am running (mean bean). now everytime i try to charge with device powered down, charge for about 8 or 10 secs then by itself it powers on to white htc screen and loops.
Just found out that my lil girl was playing with it and dropped it in water. :crying:

What was the last thing you did to the phone before it started acting up?
I would try and flash recovery through the bootloader using the PJ75IMG.zip method. Once you get recovery working I would do a clean install of MeanBean.

You could try sticking it in a bowl of rice for a couple of days.

Hope you paid for insurance, if you didn't go to Sprints website and add it now. With the Evo not having a removable battery it may not have gotten powered down immediately. Also, since you've been messing with it powering on and off and trying to charge it you are probably too late. Try the rice thing, but the fact that it powers on when you plugged it in are signs of problems. Better to claim it now and hope for the best.

Yes I paid for insurance. The 150 dollar deductible seems steep. I opened the phone up looking for the sticker that shows whether it has been in water or not and I could not find one. Anyone else know where it is?

My boy has a cheap track phone, lost it a few months ago and I let him go without for a lesson. Well his friends found it a few weeks ago and brought it here from the woods... Dried it out in rice a few days, plugged it in to charge and I kid I not he still using that dang phone...kid proved me wrong...I thought it was done..

Phone won't boot

So i dropped my phone today and its getting stuck on a boot loop of the HTC screen. I can still access recovery and stuff but it literally won't boot up into android.
Any ideas?
That's odd..try flashing a new rom or making a backup then wipe/restore maybe

So do I, 3 months ago, don't know how to fix the boot loop with HTC screen...
Can you connect to pc and load an ruu?
If Recovery, Then..
SO if you can get into the recovery, have you tried to wipe or do a full reset? Or even loading another ROM that you may have loaded on your SD? If no ROM, get one on that SD and give it a shot, I would have to say that anything lost is replaceable and better than no phone at all... (most important stuff is stored on SD in my world, aside from SMS)
If you are boot looping then your phone is OK, it is not bricked. You simply need a software fix. An RUU should do the trick.
Hey so I tried wiping flashing ... I got it to boot once and once the battery died it would no longer boot past the HTC screen. Also it wouldn't loop fully. It would load the splash HTC screen and then turn off again. I ended up filing a claim and am on the new phone.. sigh hboot 1.5 ...

If the phone turns on it isn't bricked. No need to replace it.

Agreed, you don't lose/corrupt data by dropping a phone. You can crack solder joins and other parts though.

Think My Amaze Is DEAD.

so today i got one of those crazy auto reboots on my phone. it turned off, i turned it back on, unlocked my phone, and it turned back off....repeated this process for about 10 times. did a few battery pulls, and nothing.
now my phone doesnt get passed the HTC screen. spent over 4 hours on trying to fix it and nothings working. flashed EVERY rom available for the phone along with different kernel combinations. still nothing. i am a very patient person but COME ON! this is getting ridiculous. im a pretty "important" person, if you will. and i know i have tons of calls and texts i cant get back to that are probably important.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know asap.
HTC ville here i come
My phones been running hot as of today..I hope it doesn't end up like yours. Gonna go stock when I get back home. Gonna even wipe the phone internal memory just to see if there mite be something causing it to suck.

Which recovery did you have installed?
This can actually get closed now
I charged the battery all the way then took the battery out. Let it sit for a few hours then wiped, reflashed another Rom and it went through smoothly
VERY weird.

Phone died getting new one want to stop OTA on activation

Well my phone died today, rebooted and would not turn on.. held down power button, power vol dn, etc.
Sprint is ordering me a new phone. My question is, hopefully the phone will not have the latest OTA installed. Is there a way to stop the OTA when I go to activate the new phone? Hopefully it wont just install no matter what.
Thanks
It's possible that the newest version will already be put on there before you even get it.
Otherwise if it's not on there, when you get the ota, let it download and the just don't install it when it ask. Simple as that.

Had my Sprint HTC EV 4G LTe for 5 weeks. Rooted phone after week 1. No problems until week 5 when I had left it in my windshield mount for 2 hours in the sun. After that there were several unexpected re-boots then after executing a "Mirror" app it froze. Any attempt to reboot phone gave continuous white HTC screen with vibrate or boot loop. Bestbuy junked it out replacing the phone. New phone is now updated with new OTA update waiting for new root code... No indication that Bestbuy detected "tampered" screen with root.
Otherwise very happy with phone!

Rooted my exchanged EVO as well. Had no trouble w the exchange at best buy either, but was before ota update. The girl doing my activation didn't turn over my new phone until after all the updates had been performed when the phone is first powered on. Snatch it from them before they accept HTC update is all I'm saying.

If you get the OTA, it is not that big of a deal. You can still root using this method: http://htcevohacks.com/htc-evo-4g-l...tc-evo-4g-lte-unlock-bootloadertwrp-recovery/ Did it yesterday and it worked like a charm.

Yeah I dont trust them. Worst case if it comes with the new OTA I'll just do the HTCdev unlock and root. From everything I read it puts me back pretty much where I was with root and s-off.
Just pisses me off quite a few people are having the same issue the phone dies for no apparent reason.
I'm on my wifes og EVO because last night, I plugged in to charge and this morning when I woke up, phone was dead... No button combination worked and I gotta assume its a paperweight... Off to the Sprint store I go, maybe tomorrow... I just hope I don't get shafted with a newer version... Prolly will...

Thats how mine died. Plugged in to charge, and it died. Were you using the charger that came with the LTE or a different one. I was using a charger from my EVO OG. I wonder if that has something to do wih it.
R u sure the charger isn't broken and it just died from being on all nite? Try a different charger

Mine still had a 40 percent charge and was only on the charger for 5 mins. I am seeing a trend, from others that this has happened to. Most if not all were not using the charger that came with the phone.

Mine was at 50%... I was using one of the numerous HTC chargers I have, but probably not the one that came with EVO LTE. I'll have my replacement on Tuesday, just sucks it will prolly be updated... No soff is a bummer...

Stuck in 1xrtt with a 3g symbol

I've tried every single thing I can, so has sprint. My downloads on my galaxy nexus are 1.65mbs while my evo is 10kbs. Its frustrating. Sprint tells me that all Evo LTE run in 1xrtt BUT their display model AND an employees phone both run on erphd (or whatever). All 3 of ours side by side and mine is stuck on 1x. I've got a replacement coming after arguing for 2 hours over how my phone is buggy as hell, sometimes the back key doesn't even register. If my replacement is buggy should I have them replace it too? Oh yea, the lady that took my phone apart put it glass down on a table and scratched the screen to hell. I'm pissed that they told me my phone and 10kbs was normal when every single sprint phone I use in the exact same area is pulling 1.5mbs. Any advice? Lol

That's the thread I used to begin with. Nothing works. Settings-about-network still shows 1xrtt. My replacement will be here tomorrow but I'm afraid it'll have even more bugs than this one. I'm a bit of a gamer and in my opinion this beat out the s3 but fell slightly short of the optimus g so this is my phone of choice but I need my 3g. If it has bugs tomorrow should I deal with it or make them replace it again?

Well this phone runs excellent EXCEPT for reboots every 3-5 hours. Quick screen freeze then 10 second reboot then crash report. All is well for another 3-5 hours. Does it while its just sitting too. Never gets hot either.

[Q] Evo3D won't power on or charge.

I rebooted my Evo 3D using the rom's reboot power option this morning and it just stayed powered off.
Was working perfectly for the last few months. Rooted, S-Off, MiUi v5
Now I can't get my phone to power back on.
It won't connect to the computer, so no ADB.
adb devices doesn't list the device and no connection sound.
There isn't any LED flash when I try to power it on.
I've tried 3 batteries that are fully charged on an external charger.
Tried VolDown+Power, VolUp+Power, Camera+Power.
Tried powering it on plugged in without a battery.
Tried holding the power button for 30 seconds without the battery then putting a battery in and trying to power on.
Tried holding the power button then plugging it in.
I am at a loss and I don't know what to do.
I hope there is still someone here that can help. My phone had to do this after everyone left the Evo3d :[
Please help.

Hopefully sprint gets it on the 1st and that's not just the release date for google to start selling it, or worse.. unvieling it.
There isn't much detail on it. only the FCC Sprint Signal claims and an unofficial twitter post.

Well, I wish you good luck starting your Evo or getting Nexus in two days
You sir, managed to brick your phone I guess. I had similar situation, but it has fixed by itself. I left the phone plugged for night and managed to turn it on in the morning. Maybe try that? But dont think that it will help you.
