Hi guys,
I've seen a serious bug with my White AT&T 920, and I'm about to send it back as defective, but I wanted to see if anybody else was seeing this error as well.
Basically, when I'm holding down the camera-shutter button halfway to allow for focus, the Optical Image Stabilization kicks in, and the image on the screen wobbles left and right. When I press the shutter all the way, the image is far from stabilized. Most of the time, the image is caught in motion-blur. Occasionally, the image is relatively sharp, but that's pretty rare.

And, yes - I was holding the camera as still as I could, elbows on the table, and squeezed the shutter slowly. Images like the one above are way more common than really sharp images. I can't keep this thing if this is what I should expect. So, defective phone?
Defective. I haven't gotten a picture even close to that, ever.

Yeah I would be using the warranty and getting that fixed or taking it back for a refund/replacement. Never had a problem like that on my phone.
Wow! Something is definetly wrong friend.

LOL! That thing is surely defected!
Replacement works great
I got the replacement from Amazonwireless today. First thing I did after powering it up was snap a picture. Crisp and clear! Thanks for the feedback, guys! Glad it was just a bad phone.:highfive:
Mine did it once after my factory reset. But the picture is not as bad as this one. Soft reset and back to normal. But the picture is not as clear and sharp as shown on those websites. Trying to replace now. Unfortunately, mine is cyan and is really hard to get a replacement.

I can't remember exactly when I got the tab but its been a while... maybe close to a year. I've recently noticed an issue with the display of my GTab 10.1. I'll call it "splotchiness" for lack of a better word. And I'm not sure if its a defect with my Tab, or if its just the panel they used on the GTab 10.1.
Its hard to describe so I'll give some examples. On the settings screen, there are these weird lines or "bands" across the titile bar at the top. I get similar banding across the buttons (WI-FI, Notifications, GPS, etc.) of settings popup from the tray. And some banding and splotches in the Box app.
I've converted several DVDs to AVIs and put them on my tablet. Maybe the quality of the video just sucks. But most of them have these grainy, splotchy areas throughout the film. Sometimes its the background...sometimes its on peoples' faces, hands, etc. The splotches appear on still images too.
Its really hard to get images of the screen (the splotches and stuff strangely didn't show up in screenshots I took on the tab) but I did my best.
Anyone else's GTab do this? Is mine defective? Thanks in advance for your help.

I guess I'll assume the lack of response means nobody else is having this issue. I went back and looked and I bought my Tab on June 20th, 2011 so it's still under warranty. So I guess I'll send it back.

Hi, I'm no expert, but more info about your tablet would be necessary. Which version of the ANDROID OS are you using? It looks like the stock OS, but exact model and OS info is needed.
From a cursory glance at your post, it looks to me to be a software issue. But some more tests and info would be needed. I have attached some test images for you to view on your screen. See if you get the problem with these images.
Have fun. Anil
It's a 7510MAVB... 32 GB. Stock 3.2.
Those images do the same thing... Splotchy areas. I've contacted Samsung for repair. Only have 2 months of warranty left.
Thanks for the reply.
Bought a RAZR off craigslist today for repair. Its really weird. Its like TV fuzz on the display, but its green specs with blue and red in it too. Still pets on just fine, and everything works behind the scenes, just no picture. It also gets brighter like its warming up our something.
Any suggestions?
I already opened it and cleaned the terminals with alcohol, then re-seated the terminals, no difference. Also, no signs of water damage. The internal stickers were not activated, and no rust anywhere, not even in the USB port.
Buying a new screen to see if its the problem. Still up for suggestions though...

I have no idea but mine is similar to this when say a game is loading and the backlight is dark green but I see black splotches in it and I don't know why?
i have little to base this on, but just guessing: my guess is that it is the video "card" (chip) hardware, and that the display itself is fine, requiring a new "motherboard" or whatever it is called inside the RAZR.
Well to put it short, I replaced the screen myself, and dust seems to have gotten into the back camera, I've tried blowing it, vacuuming it, tapping it but nothing has seemed to have solved the problem. Is there any other way to fix this without having to purchase another camera replacement, which is around $40?
Here's an image of it

Isnt the dust between the camera module and camera window(which is part of the phones rear housing.
Ive had a look at the spare camera I have here and there is a small gap between the chrome housing and the black circular thing that sits on the lens.......is the dust somewhere in there.
I thought the camera innards would be sealed, but maybe not.
Youd have to unstick the camera module and clean that and the inside of the phone housing,to see if that helps.
Can you post the link where you got the camera module for $40 from,as there people on here looking to get them.

Hi yeah, do you know how I would take the camera apart? There isn't a seal around the gap in between the actual camera lens.
The phone housing itself is clean, I've cleaned all of it and replaced the screen as well, but however pulling apart the phone has lead for the dust to actually get into the camera itself, and stick there, hitting it doesn't even take it out anymore.
A while back with the same problem I found a $40 camera on ebay, obviously they're all aftermarket, so if there's nothing wrong with the actual camera, there's no need to buy an aftermarket part, but I'm slightly picky with these types of things and I want to get it replaced or fixed.
Thanks for the response.
Some people have said they are $100+ but the only price I seen was about $60.......but the seller had no stock, and maybe never will.
I would try to flip off the chrome box cover thing and see whats under there.
You could buy my one,but donate the money to this site somehow.

The flare appears while taking photos of bright objects in the dark, like candles. It can ruin a photo. I've never seen a flare like this in any smartphone camera. Does anyone have the same problem?
An example:

The candle in the upper left corner should not be exhibiting this purple flare. Really annoying.

Well, that's charming. Apple simply told it's users to point the camera at a different angle.
Still, it was in 2012. I've done a brief comparison with my girlfriend's Galaxy Note 4 and seen no flare there.
I would greatly appreciate any LG V30 user's opinion on this topic. I would like to know if it's the same in every V30, or is my unit especially faulty.
I think i found the answer.
The camera seems to be very susceptible to IR light. LG is using an IR lamp to assist autofocus, so naturally the camera has to detect it easily.
It just so happens, that a candle flame is quite hot. Because of that, it emits extensive amounts of IR light. I was able to get the same effect during the day, but it is best seen using an IR remote.
Well, nothig can be done with that as it seems. Every other phone I've used wasn't that susceptible to IR light. It certainly is a novelty to me.
Hello, I just got my S9+ (less than a week ago) and I discovered after 4 days of use, a very strange mark on the screen that has no depth.

It's very noticeable when I try to clean the phone with a bit of water. The droplets pattern changes:
I haven't exposed the phone to any miss-use and I'm baffled by this, is hard to see when the screen is on but it's forever in my mind now.
Could this be the oleophobic coating or am I looking at something else?
Do you see the line when the display is turned on? Try to dial *#0*# and test the display. It seems like the oleophobic coating, because of the water, but I never seen something like that before.

It's very hard to notice when the screen is on in most conditions. I'm returning this phone and hopefully it will pass Amazon quality checks, wish me luck.
In all 10 years of having smartphones, I never had a phone with this kind of flaw.
Hello I am having the same reaction on my phone. Did you find out what it was?
Same issue here
Only visible with screen off in direct sunlight or water is on the phone
I returned the device with an attached letter to it where it stated what was the problem.
I got the return, no questions asked. I would recommend reaching Samsung or your retailer to get this fixed or another device. If asked, just explain that the scratch has no depth, so it couldn't have been your keys or something in your pocket, also stress your phone is new.
Similar issues were reported for the Galaxy note 8 and I found a YouTube video with an S9 and a similar problem.
If you don't return the device, I would expect the problem to get worse.
