Hi all,
I totally broke my screen during NYE (alcohol is not good for certain things )
I would like to get data from my apps but unfortunately I can neither see what's on the screen or click on it directly.
My phone is on CM10.1, adb is enabled.
I used to get my data from adb once but I forgot that in newer versions of CM, root is allowed only to apps by default.
Tried to use screencast, I see the screen but I can't click.
I also tried a app called mymobiler, problem is I need at a certain point to click on the screen to allow it.
last solution I tried was to send a adb comand to backup the phone but here again I need to click the screen to confirm.
I see only two solutions, maybe you guys can help :
First one would be to simulate a click on the exact point where is the "allow" box for superuser, this would allow me to use those apps
Try to make a titanium backup within adb, titanium backup is already granted root so it could work, but don't know if it's possible ..
Many thanks in advance for your help
try android commander and copy any files you need to your PC.

Thanks but I'm afraid that even with that I would need to confirm at some point on the screen as I don't just want to get files from sdcard but also get informations which are under /data (for app datas)

if you can view the screen and touch is not functioning you can use usb otg cable and connect usb mouse, pointer will pop-up on screen automatically if adb is enabled with this you can navigate the screen dont worry its plug n play.

Already suggested higher, and unfornately, I can't see anything on the screen also.
That's why I was suggesting the command line option or ask for the way to simulate a click at the exact point to allow super user rights
Just a wild guess, use recovery and make a nandroid backup (if you're using cwm, the button combinations should be easy enough to figure out?) and see what you can fish out of the backup file?

Hi guys,
I bought titanium pro and i wanted to have the option to backup and restore apps + data, but every time i hit the restore button it allways stuck at 0%, so i tried to backup the apps to my external SD, and same there.
Then i also have Rom toolbox, and i tried to backup my apps + data, and everything seems to be fine until i hit the "restore" button, and i have the same problem there, meaning stuck at 0%.
This is what i've tried to solve the problem:
# i've tried to format both internal and external SD
# i've done a full wipe including every wipe option and re-flashed my Rom
# 'ive done a factory reset
But nothing helps, what could be the problem here?

Ok, just my last question. Do i need to worrie about leaving it ON all the time, i mean, could i do harm to any program by leaving this ON (USB debugg).
Or should i only thick it on when i do backup/restore and then unthick it again?

+1. On any fresh flash I turn USB debugging on and never turn it off. Same when I had the S1.

Smashed my SG2 sceen, it's going off for repair and I'd like to make a ROM image back up but I can't see the screen. Any tools out there that can do this from the PC?
I've used the screencast function in Droid Explorer to make a Titanium Backup but I'd like a full ROM backup for extra peace of mind.
Any ideas?

I'm not certain. That's why I said "try". I've never attempted it, so I don't know if it would work. The idea to do it in adb while in recovery is a better one though. A bit embarrassed I didn't think of that instead of the MHL idea.

Post the commands in the thread when you're done; if someone happens to search (I know, I'm dreaming) they may find this thread and you'll be a God like hero to them.
Edit: Quoted the wrong person because I'm a dumbass.
Exact same post within the last few months a search of that may help .

Not sure if this is what you need,a member here much smarter than I told me this about my E970 when it was unplugged before the backup was made.
In the end these phones are basically unbrickable, so you can always get into download mode (Vol up + Vol down +usb cable +power) and use LGNPST to restore back to stock. LGNPST info can be found on irc
I do not know what irc is but there ya go,google away and hope it works .
I don't completely understand what I'm doing when I'm doing things to my phone. All I know is that some pretty great people with a much better understanding of the inner workings of phones tell me to do this or that. On that note, why are people so quick to say their phone is bricked when they still have a phone that will boot into something? Anyway...
What if you try removing the sd card, use another phone or an adapter for a pc, to download a rom to it. Put it back in your phone boot into recovery and flash it.
Or use that LGPNST, or whatever you call it, method...

If you are in TWRP you could use the file manager under advanced to try and move the .zip to internal memory. Then see if you can flash.
But I always flash from external and never have issues.
You may have a corrupt .zip, maybe try downloading it again and then try again.
I had an issue where my SD card wasn't Fat32 so TWRP wouldn't put anything on the SD or boot anything off the SD. I can't remember if I could browse the folders with TWRP's file manager or not though. That's not much help I know, but might be worth looking into. You can try formatting your SD as Fat32, loading the stock ROM on it, then see if TWRP will flash it.
