Are there any good music zips out there like Beats, or Acid for the Note 2? I have found some on other Note 2 threads, but didn't know if they would work for the Verizon version?

What rom are you using?
I am running CleanRom 3.5 with Player Pro which has it's own equalizer. Is there another music app that can be used to test this? The native music app?

You are 1 of about 3 people in that thread that found it actually works. 3 people, in 5 pages.
Beats is a joke anyway if you are just porting software. It is an EQ, nothing more.
On the DNA, it has upgraded audio hardware as well, with a more powerful amp.

Is there a zip for this hardware mod?
There is ac!d mods signed samsung audio package. This works on both stock rooted deodexed and beanstown for me and others. As per the thread it should work on any samsung device running aosp or tw-based. Flash at your own risk, i am not responsible for bootloops. Attached is the link to the zip that worked for my phone as posted from ac!d mods, credit to ac! D and team.
Please note it is also an equalizer setting called fxbooster. Best used with play music app. Will not be selectable with stock samsung music player.

Fxbooster as you call it is an AOSP equalizer. I'm not sure what Acid is, but thats definitely not it.

My apologies if that is also an aosp equalizer setting but it is also the equalizer used with the ac!d mod. I am just posting what has worked for me. The mod installs multiple libs and changes the equalizer settings.

I hadnt seen this posted anywhere here. I found several threads where the OP had pulled this or links just went bad in other forums. From what i can tell, the first guy to make this happen was RockoDev. I dont know if he made this or if someone else did based off his work..just trying to give credit where credit is due.
That said , I have A/Bd this with the stock music app that uses Beats Audio officially...i then had the same song queued up in Play Music where i could multitask and hit play on both players that way i didnt have any pause in audio for my ears to readjust. And in my honest opinion this is the real deal.
I tested on a pair of Beats Studios , Yamaha NS10 monitors, as well as M-Audio BX8A reference monitors. Also tested in my car audio setup which isnt too shabby.
That said .. yeah guys this pretty much is just EQ . BUT , having a rather extensive background in audio engineering , i think there is an added component that doesnt get enough credit.. I believe they use some sort of software compressor that rolls off the highs as the source becomes louder , which helps reduce distortion at louder volumes and keeps that "full" sound even at capacity.
Well thats my two cents ... flash it .. bash it .. whatever
Take care guys .
Sweet. Gonna try it out

thank you sir wil try this out! I like the sound with Beats but I also added some 'custimization' using DSP manager to make it sound even better.

I have tested it on

Not really... It flashes it to the file system, open the zip and check it out.
Then compare audio with your stock music player that you know uses it.
It doesn't just flash a bunch of useless files I promise .... Unless you find the beats effect useless... Then I guess it is

I found a DSP manager that works, and as far as I can tell it's the same thing with a different logo. I'm not really sure. What I do know is that DSP+Beats amplifier+good headphones will rattle your friggin' brain. Seriously I was testing it and it got to the point where I told myself "this can't be safe." but it sounds awesome. It's like having subs in your ears. Anyways here's the link:

Oh and if DSP and the Awesome Beats thing are in fact two different beasts, I'd recommend looking in the HTC OneX forums. That's where I found the DSP zip. It's gonna have some libs that you need too besides the apk, so if you do find it, it should be a flashable zip.

Before you do anything, DO A NANDROID BACKUP!!!!! I am not responsible for any mistakes that you make or if anything happens to your phone.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Download file and put it on the root of your memory
Boot into recovery (easiest method is using Quick Boot from Play Store)
Wipe Cache/Dalvik
Install ZIP
Wipe Cache/Dalvik and then Fix Permissions (for optimal results)
Reboot then you have the application!

DEVELOPERS: You can use this to incorporate in your ROM, I did not make this so I take no credit for it at all, I just found it and tweaked it a little to best work with our device.
I've had this in the Sprint section for a bit but decided to throw it in here because it should work with your phone. Enjoy!
Thanks for this, _Epic. I appreciate any developments/mods that come out for our phone.
Nothing against you, but as a side-note - why aren't more people aware that Beats "technology" is nothing more than glorified equalizer settings? This mod sooner or later becomes available for almost every smartphone I've looked at and it's infecting computers now; this is in addition to those godawful headphones that apparently took 40% of the industry share this year. And people seem have no idea that you can accomplish the same or maybe achieve better results with a little bit of EQ and some knowledge? And worst of all, now this company (which is basically a big joke) has a reputation for solid, reliable audio quality, a reputation which should be reserved for high-end, established audio manufacturers like Sennheiser/Grado/manymanyotherswhoarenotendorsedbydrdreordavidguetta.
Seriously though, I mean no offense... and I appreciate the time and contribution, I just have a "thing" with that company.

If you have nothing good to say don't say anything at all... Regardless, people choose what they like, even if it's not the best its simple, no one really wants to mess with equalizer settings ok... They want it to just work... Besides you don't have to use this, anyways.... Great mod... Worked like a charm, don't even need to back up if you follow instructions right, might want to add that fixing permissions might take a while, some people might get impatient and decided to early reboot

The iPhone is nothing more than a glorified app launcher. People seem to buy plenty of them. It's simplicity to use is the same reason people enjoy Beats. So this does nothing if you're running Nocturnal ROM. I have the sound enhancements ended for the "walkman" app and I see when I mess with the equalizer, it does stuff. But when I go into Beats, the equalizer doesn't do anything.
So either you can't have them both, or I'm doing something wrong. Even when I disabled Sony Walkman, it still didn't do anything.

I don't know if anyone is using this kernel yet but I have been using it for two days now and loving it. It was made for the n7105 but has been running perfectly on my vzw gnote2. It also has an app you download from the market "like" stweaks that lets you adjust cpu/gpu settings as well as sound including turning up in call mic volume. Just scroll down to the downloads section and download the n7105 versions for either tw(sammy) or aosp, I have tested both.
Only, issue so far is that the eq in the app (uneak) isn't working but I use noozxoide for that. Apparently the eq isn't working on the n7105 either so don't fill up his thread with compliants. Believe me, you will be impressed with the sound improvements using the kernel (neak) the app (uneak) and noozxoide from google play.
Find the original thread here. Be sure to read the entire op, there is a lot of useful information there.
I in no way take any credit for this, just wanted to share.
Just to be clear, you're flashing a non-Verizon kernel onto your Verizon Galaxy Note 2 and you aren't running into any issues? Is that correct?
I exclude that equalizer issue as you said it isn't working on the other phones either.

Correct, been running it for two days with no problems, no lock ups no sods no nothing. Running fast and smooth. Better sound than stweaks and perseus imo.
Well, that's awesome. Kind of curious whats up with that. In the past kernels for the international variants required "porting" to the Verizon/AT&T etc phones. Wonder why not with this one?
If it were possible to flash kernels from all the other variants on our Verizon Note 2's that would open a lot of doors for options.

WOW. Just came across this kernel randomly by searching google for "verizon note 2 aosp kernel" and HOLY ****E! This is the best kernel I have ever run on my phone by far!! This thread needs to come back to life and people need to get on this. I'm running this with carbon currently and am getting the best battery life I ever have using the muti-core mod app made by the dev along with the uneak engine control app. Don't be skurred...even though they don't SAY Verizon, these kernels run fine with Verizon, as long as you follow the links in the OP under N7105/T889/I317 LTE RELEASES:. These kernels were just updated on June 7, so they are FRESHHHH.
Seriously, give this a try. And make sure to use the apps linked to in the uNeak dev's OP.

There have been quite a few reports of people flashing N7105, T-Mobile, and AT&T kernels on the i605 with no issues. You cannot flash Sprint kernels because sprint writes /data on /dev/block/mmcblk0p17 instead of on /dev/block/mmcblk0p16.
So using a Sprint kernel would most likely bootloop you, it may not but from what I've read it most likely will, and I'm unsure if the N7100 is fair game or not, I have been looking through kernels lately and have found one on the N7100 that I am going to try later and see if it works of if it causes issues like I think it will.
That leaves us 3 other Note 2's kernels to play with though aside from our own!

I'm the same way. Once I have an app installed and I play with it for a few minutes and will actually keep it, I have no issues with donating a few bucks to the Dev. After all, they did this on their own time and it keeps development going. I actually prefer apps that have a trial version rather than apps that force you to buy and then you only have 15 minutes to get a refund (Damn you Google Play Store Refund Policy). My poor bank statement is littered with App Store purchases of different Dev Apps. Spouse just looks at the statement and usually asks....what the hell is this and what is it for? I just lift my phone up and that's the end of the conversation.
