Hi people! I have noticed something really strange, today at the same hour geniewidget app (news and weather from google) has stopped loading any content from the server on my two devices. I have tried it on my sister's phone to prove if for any reason it was something related to my google account, and as I thought it wasn't (as far as I know this app has nothing to do with the google account...), and I proved it also over wifi and 2G/3G data. So I think it must be a problem from the server, and there must be more people with the same problem. Does anyone have noticed this? Maybe it's a problem from my country/region (I'm from madrid, spain)... does anyone know the reason for this problem and if it's going to be solved? thanks in advance! cheers
i'm having this issue too, i'm from italy...
same here, UK!!
+1 in the UK on Gnex JB.
Regards.
Same problem here. Appeared right after I upgraded my Nexus S to Jellybean.
same problem here seems google have broken something there end :crying:
Glad I'm not alone here.
Same issue here.Yes, definitely problem with the server.
Thanks guys!! So if it's a problem from the server lets see if google can solve it soon... cheers!

Well...........not really.
You still cant set the weather manually. You'll have to check the "use my location" box to get the weather working.
And as soon as you've done that, the news changes as well.
i.e;
UK weather, US news....................use to be possible.
As soon as you check the "use my location" box, US news changes also to UK news!!
Hope they'll fix it soon.
it stopped working since google introduced this:

Hi!
I'v got a serious problem with the S2 of my wife. She wrote very much notes to the Calender of her S2. The notes are important, because it's about the growing of our little son. Informations like first tooth, first smyle and things like that. My wife made an firmware update using Kies. After that she didn't have the calender app, instead there was the s-planner and no entries at all. All information has gone!
No backup in kies, no other backup. S2 had the original firmware from T-Mobile germany from Oktober 2011. An old Gingerbread I guess.
I searchd the whole files in the phone and found a "calendar.db". I opened this file on windows-pc and found the missing entries, but only the emtries, the text, without any information about the day or time. This information seems to by a kind of cryptet.
So here is my question: is there any chance, to read this cryptical calendar.db, better make it readable on windows PC?
I tried to downgrade the FW to Gingerbread, so I have the calendar app back, searchd for the calendar.db and raplaced it with mine. But wehn I open the calendar the app forcecloses.
Any idea, any helpfull hints?
Thank you,
Michael
Sorry for the english... I do my best.

I guess she didn't sync the calendar with her gmail account?
Yes, that's the major problem. She used the calender with default settings and that means no sync with nothing.

If you had some kind of backup, you could recover. However, as there's nothing to restore, you're boned.
As I wrote above, I have only the calendar.db. But no idea how to extract the information out if it.
Gesendet von meinem SM-N9005 mit Tapatalk 2
Best you can do is root the phone & copy the calendar.db you have over to wherever it lives in the file system & overwrite the obviously empty one that's there at the moment (after you reflashed the firmware you got a fresh copy of this file).
But...You've already had a look at the entries in this db & it appears they're incomplete, so don't get your hopes up. Try it & find out.

If you have access to calendar.db you can use sqlite3 to access to it, either directly on the phone, or copy it to a PC and work on it there. I remember just at G1-times there were already threads for it ...

Thank you all for that ideas! I'll try and tell you what happens. I guess the calendar.db file is complete, but the part of information which contains the date and time is kind of crypted. I already tried it with copy and write over the original calendar.db, but this made the calender app running into forceclose every time.

Have installed Eragon v 2.8 after full wipe as per instructions. Installed a second launcher, deleted system nova with mixplorer, installed nova prime 4.3.1 from an APK file I have, deleted second launcher, setup rest of my phone.
The problem is auto-rotate function doesn’t work, if I have the auto-rotate selected in android only or android & nova prime, it won’t rotate pictures, videos and apps automatically when I physically rotate phone.
It’s not a hardware problem as using twrp I restored to a backup of Eragon v 2.0 that I have and auto-rotate works fine and in each new version of Eragon I have installed the same copy of Nova Prime 4.3.1. Also tested it with an older version of Nova prime 2.0 with Eragon 2.8 and exactly the same problem. I have been having this problem since Eraogon v 2.5 .
Its not a huge problem just a little annoying, any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

mhh weird autorotae works for me.. maybe its an app probelm with your nova? and elephones newer base? idk
check this:
settings/display / auto rotate.
in nova settings look if auto rotate is enbaled.
also in nova settings menu . long press vol up or down and you will have a secret "labs" menu also look there.
I've got the same Problem and none of your suggestions work. I use the included luncher.
Only difference is that I'm running the ROM on the Lite Version of the P9000.

Yup, the suggestions don’t work for me either, but thanks for the help.
I will have to wait until next version of eragon and will check to see at what stage of the installation the auto-rotate stops working.

Just realized that the ROM isn't compatible with P9000 Lite. Rotation and loading do not work. Back to Stock both ok. Unfortunately Elephone did not release a new version for the Lite ?

Ok, glad you have sorted yours out. I am using the P9000, not the lite version. I hope the next version of Eragon will sort my problems with auto-rote out.
Hi. Latest version of Eragon v3, doesn’t resolve the auto-rotate problem. Installed Eragon v3 after full wife as per instructions. Straight after installation signed into google store and downloaded QuickPic App and viewed some pictures and videos.
So what should happen?
When you view a picture and have phone in vertical position, as you rotate phone to horizontal position, the picture should automatically rotate back so it can be viewed correctly at optimum size in horizontal position. When you rotate phone to vertical, the picture should automatically rotate again so it can viewed correctly at optimum size in vertical position. This especially useful when having landscape and portrait orientated picture galleries.
The same should happen with videos & apps, and by selecting auto rotate in the Nova settings you can make it happen with the launcher screen too.
What is actually happening?
As you fiscally rotate phone to horizontal position, the picture stays still. Sometimes after tapping side of phone it rotates correctly, when you return phone to vertical position the picture rotates 180º and not 90º so you are viewing it incorrectly. The same with video.
I use quickpic app to view galleries but it does the same in the standard gallery app.
This is the exactly the same problem I reported in Eragon v2.8 and that I have been experiencing since v 2.5 . I don’t think its a hardware problem as I restored to a backup copy of Eragon v 2.0 and auto-rotate work perfectly.
This is a problem that effects each and every viewing of pictures, videos and some apps so I’d say it’s quiet an important bug/problem.
I think it’s a software problem and not hardware, but no other users have reported similar problem so I cant be sure. I need to know if I’m the only person having these issues.
P:S:
I’m so disillusioned with Elephone and the P9000, its problem after problem, how does a company sell a product that is half working? I feel like going back to my Nexus 4
I would try a clean flash (latest version) via flash tool..

Ok, but after installing Eragon v3 successfully, rebooted, signed into google store and downloaded QuickPic. I viewed pictures and videos and auto-rotate didn’t work properly. Only after doing this first test did i setup the rest of my phone. I don’t understand what could be causing it.

Really strange.. I checked it and installed quick pic.. Auto rotate works by default.. No issue here.
I'm sorry I don't know what's wrong for you. .
Maybe it would be good to know if a stock ROM gives you the same issue.
Via flashtools flash the latest 20160608 stock Rom and look if it is working or not.
The problem is I can't reproduce this issue. And it seems you are the only one with that weird thing..its really strange

I am sorry . I don't know why autorotate don't work for you.. It dont work when nothing is installed?
The issue must be on users side..
No one else have this..
I will differ the stock bases for you.. Maybe i will find the cause

I just don’t understand it either, I have the same phone as everyone else, I do a full wipe and install the same zip file and I get different results.
I understand it’s an unusual problem and I appreciate your help.
That is the strange thing, I install Eragon v3 and viewed some pictures in the gallery and they don’t rotate so install Quickpic to double check and the same, it doesn’t work. You notice it straight away, in Eragon v2 it works perfectly, very fast and responsive.
Trust me to get the P9000 manufactured in a rush on Friday night
Aleluya!!!!! have finally sorted it out.
I was searching St. Google for this problem and found this page;
http://bbs.elephone.hk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2929&page=1&ordertype=1#pid25990
Downloaded "MTK Engineering Mode" from store and calibrated the G-sensor whilst putting the phone on the floor.
It now works perfectly. MTK app has lots of testing & calibrating options, might be useful for other things.
I’m so glad this is sorted. Thanks for the help received.
Ok,
So I have a sprint LG G5, and i had a couple pictures and videos on it that were very special to me of my little one. Well my little one accidentally erased this video.
I am trying every way I can to find an app or program to scan and recover deleted video file. Can anyone help me?
I would do anything possible to get this video back of my little one.
Did you save youe video on your internal srorage of sd-card?
Most important: try to avoid storing further data on that device.
Is your device rooted?

If you've set up Google Photos, anything that was deleted should be up there. Otherwise, check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...ted-photos-t3390446/post67174475#post67174475
No the phone is not rooted...it is a new Sprint version LG G5. I have searched but havent found a solid root method.
I dont have any google backup enabled yet. The phone is storing everything on intermal memory as far as I know.
honestly the biggest thing I would like to get back (if possible) is the video.
Hmm you could take a look at this software: www.gtrecovery.net

Why does Google Play Store tells me Le Max 2 is not compatible with Super Mario Run?
I am on Couco92 rom.

sideload it!
if you do this often, this might be interesting:

this app lets you download apks from the playstore. you dont even have to log in. just choose 'experimental' when asked how to log in.

Nintendo does not like rooted devices. The game runs on small eui without root.
I have tried installing by side loading as per A. N. Droid instructions. Worked great until you restart the game and it does not work afterwards. It works good on my other phone zte zmax 2 which is not rooted.
Thank you for the side loading idea.
i tried it. no problem with root.

Had same problem. It's the so called "SafetyNet" check. It may be the case your phone came with a modified ROM from the shop. So Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem, Pokemon Go... they wouldn't just show up in the shop.
I flashed the latest Indian stock ROM and despite the phone still does not passing the SafetyNet check, now all these games show up in the store. So it should definitely be compatible.
If your phone is rooted, you may give it a try to Magisk Manager to hide the root. You can also run there the SafetyNet check on it.
Cheers!
