So this is kinda strange, to me anyways. I've never heard of something like this happening before, but it's happened to me a couple times now. My battery has drained while being plugged in to the charger. Once while charging from my case with a built in external battery, and once while plugged in to my computer via the provided USB cable. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Maybe someone found the cause of it and maybe a fix?

The phone is using more power than it can take. If it is plugged in with the AC adapter, make sure the charger is plugged in ALL the way and not hanging out. When my charger is half way in, my battery actually drains. If plugged in to your computer, turn off wifi, bluetooth, data, etc.

I believe the stock charger delivers about twice the charge of a standard USB port (1000 ma vs 500 ma). So if you are using a computer or external charger, it may not keep up with the discharge rate. The screen is the biggest power drain.
When I use navigation, which requires GPS and Network coverage, mine will drain. However, I can turn on BT and connect to my handsfree, and then turn off the screen and listen to directions (navigation via Google Maps). Mine actually charges under this situation, even with the lower power chargers. This works well for me, since I shouldn't really be looking at the screen while driving anyway.
Thanks guys! Glad that got cleared up. Here I thought I might have to get a new phone if this problem persisted.

mein cable badal kar dekh chuka hun,koi khas faida nai hua, hardware ka shak dur karny ke liye local repair cetre se contact kia hai, now lets see kia hota hai,
If you have a custom recovery installed, find the Wipe Battery Stats option and select it.
Reboot and you should be normal again.
If you have irregular drainage still, try using Battery Calibration app from the playstore and charge your phone to 100%, leave it to charge for a few hours extra (minimum 2hours) and then calibrate.

So 2 days ago, usb/charge port for SE x10i broke. meaning it stopped working.. GG my phone.
so im planning to buy the charge port and replace it myself.
is it hard to change it? has anyone tried it?
thanks.
Hello, guys.
Well, I have MiniCM7-2.2.0 on my X10 Mini Pro, and the rom is perfect, except for one issue: the phone is not charging anymore.
It's been some days since I plug the cable on the phone and it does not recognize it. Them, I have to reboot the phone, with the cable pluged, for it to be able to charge. Sometimes, even rebooting it won't fix the problem, and I stay with the battery off until it magically star working, after a thousand times.
What can I do?
I have searched the forum, but found no similar threads.
Sorry for my bad english. Hope you can help me.
ok first things first, change your rom and kernel, and if that doesnt work change your cable, and if that doesnt work it is your usb port that is stuffed for your phone, because i have exact same problem, dont keep trying because it will make your usb port smoke, literally it has happened to me ! if none of those work, you'll have to buy a external charger about 4 bucks off ebay hope i helped

I've tried with 3 or 4 different cables, and the problem continues.
Let me try re-installing the kernel and rom and see if that works.
If doesn't work, I don't know what i'm going to do, 'cause there is another issue, besides the charging problem: the memory card. I can only access the files through the usb cable. How will I move the files on the memory card?
Anyway, thanks for the help!
Urghh maybe your USB charging port got a problem?
Hi all, I bought my S3 9 months ago. First 4-5 months, everything was okey. Then I started using Custom Roms and unfortunately usual charging problem started to occur. I changed my cable first and for 2 week new cable worked. Then it started not charging too. I bought a new one. That worked for 2 weeks too. Then a new one... I'm fed up with this. I don't wanna pay any more for charger so what's the solution? I resetted rom counter and returned back to stock rom but no it didn't work. So if you can help me in a way, I'll appreciate it. Thanks
do you charge the GS3 from an USB port or from the power supply (travel charger)?
i have a few ideas, so you can try if you want.
1.- If charging from USB port of PC, make sure if this port dont have a short circuit or is damaged, USB ports from PC's can damage devices in some cases.
2.- if charging from the travel charger, (that thing like an ice cube) ... switch the charger with a friend who also have an gs3 and try for a few days to see if the charger is the problem or not.
3.- Do you warranty valid , could be problem of the micro usb port in the device.
Hope i have helped a little.:fingers-crossed: good luck!
I'd say most likely reason for the problem is your phone USB connector. It could be a bit worn and new cable works for two weeks until the cable plug wears itself out too. Having the combination charge won't work.
While your phone is un rooted, return it for warranty.
Mine won't charge at all, and I can't figure out why. Any ideas and I'd like to know if anyone else has this problem.
Try another cable.

I've tried 3 cables, 2 plugs, and trying to plug into my computer. None will make it charge...
I had this problem before but it went away. The cables work on my s5 not broken cables
I have the same problem. My won't charge above 2%
Hi everybody,
Started my vacation a few days ago only to realize my GTR 2 charge cable was left back home, right when I needed it the most as I plan on several activities in the coming weeks. The places where I'm at currently and going to be are tough to get a new cable and so I'm left at a dead end.
Would ruining an ordinary USB cable on one end do the trick? I got a few quick chargers with me at least.
I also have a GTS watch and its GTS factory charging cable but that one has never managed to charge my GTR2 for some reason, despite the fact the magnets hook correctly on the watch, which makes me question the success of destroying another ordinary USB cable to try charging my watch.
Ideas?
