Lockscreen Greyed Out - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi googled the we already and were not able to find a solution.
My LockScreen Option are all except Password greyed out. I had the phone encrypted and the group policy from my company applied to it before. Now I remeved the Group Policy App, removed the corporate Google Apps account and decrypted the phone. No encrypted SD card is inside.
I erased the Credential Storage and check that there is no additional Admin configure. Neither is any VPN Connection.
Phone is not rooted and runs Android 4.1.1.
Any idea?

[Q] Security threat: still able to access google account after revoking password

I'm using Android 4.0.4, IceColdSandwich ROM, set up Google 2-step auth. I have generated an application-specific password and used it to set up account on the android phone.
First, I haven't found any ways to log off from the account. The only way offered is to completely remove account-related data including messages and so on.
Second, and most important, I revoked the application-specific password using web interface, and the phone still able to access my account mail and sync all the account belongings. I rebooted phone, clear data of different google applications with no luck - phone still had an access the account.
So I'm wondering why Google allows such unsecure scheme to live, and if there is a chance to revoke the access to google account in case of loosing the phone.
I have had the same problem after doing a full wipe update I revoked the old password then generated a new one so I could login. But after finding problems with the rom I restored my Nandroid backup and it never asked for a new password, it just worked which is a big security flaw.
My only guess it since I gave it the same name (ex Android Phone) maybe same names generate the same password. And has no randomness
I should do a test by generating a new password then revoking it and generating with the same name to see if they match since I have never checked if they are the same due to not knowing the old one past one time type in.
Edit they are not the same but I think I noticed what you have to revoke. At the top of the page you should see these I assume if you revoke them they don't come back until a proper password is re-entered.

remote functions denying everything??

hello to all, and please pardon me for my bad english.
i bought this i9100 (i9100GSMH) from ebay, from a guy who said "i was unable to find lockscreen sequence".
i was incredibly lucky, found it after some 30-40 attempts, but this is where real problems started.
The device is fully functional, 2.3.3 stock Gingerbread, branded O2, simlocked and contains all the first owner put in, more than 400 images, music, family videos and so on.
Some 7 accounts, like hotmails, two google accounts and, this is fundamental, one samsung account.
it has a valid IMEI and appears not been stolen (i contacted the girl some 10 days ago, still waiting for a reply)
well it contains also two emails from two guys who evidently bought this device and wrote to her trying to obtain samsung account's password
well, long story short: if i try to uncheck "remote functions" it prompts me with a password request (that samsung account)
the same password it ask me if i try "factory data reset". i tried subscribing another samsung account (success) but can't put in the phone (it says there is already one)
examples: i delete all images and music, accounts, various apps (some 7 gigabytes) and reboot: everythings returns in his place!
every file i put in the cell disappears if i reboot or if i "format USB storage"
in recovery mode i can't select sd-ext (to install firmware from ext-sd), tried put in DCIM but everything i put in disappears
tried various firmwares with ODIN and official update by kies: they complete successfully their work, but after reboot i have the device in the exact state it was the first time i turned it on:
lockscreen, images, music, videos, accounts, emails, apps returns there, nothing was really never changed nor deleted, everything i copied in the device simply disappeared.
this baffles me, as i read tons of forums and posts about it but everyone says you can factory reset, install firmware at will etc.
this is not the case, someone can help me?
i'm going to ask directly samsung if they can send me the "change password page", i'm running out ideas
well some news, the original owner of the cell emailed me: it isn't stolen nor lost, she sold it.
she gave me also the password (good!) for the samsung account, so i can remove "remote controls"
the password is valid and i can also access the corresponding account on (findmymobile), where there aren't any device registered.
i can delete all accounts on the device but two: this samsung account and one by googlemail.
the samsung account on the phone shows nothing, is empty, i can only select "delete account" but it says i can't because some apps blabla.
the google one is fully working, i mean it receives mail too, and is needed by some apps blabla, i can not delete.
my problem is actually the same described here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1474222)
i think there are only two possibilities:
1 somewhat similar to NAND RW corruption, hardware defect, probably unrecoverable
2 samsung account and/or googlemail accounts are gone ape**it and internal SD is kept in some "security" state i don't even know if one exists.
anyone please?

[Q] settings > more VPN > "type the password for credential storage" ?

[Q] settings > more VPN > "type the password for credential storage" ?
Hi, everyone.
I recently upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S III (gt i9300) with the Android 4.3 update and am having a bizarre issue. I went to add a new VPN and it began prompting me for a password to access credential storage! First off I have no idea what this is so I googled it and only found a few forum posts (they were back from the ICS days!) but not much else. Everyone said just to get it wrong so many times and it would reset itself just erasing any old VPN settings so I sat there and typed in random garbage 3 times until it said it has erased credential storage but it still keeps prompting me for a password and when I type something in it just keeps giving me a small pop up over the keyboard saying credential storage erased! I have never entered any type of credential password and I tried all of my standard set of pwds with no luck!
Is there some sort of generic key I am missing? Please help!
Solved.

I've realized that it is directly related with the type of screen lock you have. I disabled the PIN I had, and I could regain access to the VPN settings, although it asked me to provide one type of lock screen PIN or password in order to use credential storage.

Unable to reset content lock pin

I forget my content lock pin, and i tried so many time to reset it, im sure i have inputted the right google account and password, but it just keep saying the password do not match.
Does anyone have the same problem, and has anyone know how to ix this problem/bug?

Setting -> Fingerprints & security -> Content Lock -> reset password(it will appear when the password entered is wrong) -> enter email and password -> sign in -> the message "password does not match" pops out

no solution yet. I guess I will have to contact LG.
i have the same problem, do you find a solution?
Has anyone had this problem solved? I even reset my Google account password and it's not working!
In solution foun yet ?!
I have the same issue
I'm not a tech guru, but I had this problem: I have an old phone with photos that I'm not longer using with data, but I had some locked photos in there and I could not access them when I tried to put in my current gmail password or that pin I remember while using wifi, since it's not using data. Even though I would go on my pc and type in my password/email and log in..it just wasn't registering for this phone.
What worked: 1. Wifi connection---installed all software updates
2. I turned off 2 step verification from my email through my PC
3. I then also turned ON the Allow less secure apps feature
4. After this I was successfully able to sign on to my email account from the email app on my phone.
Then I tried again to put in my current password and email from the locked pictures--- and it signed me on...and allowed me to change my password/pattern/pin and I could then access the pictures.
I hope this helps someone bc this took me over 12 hours to figure out.

samsung s4 - unlock encryption

Hi all,
I just tryed to add a company account to my phone. During this process I was asked to add a new Administrator. Just after confirm, the phone unmonted the SD card and wanted to encrypt the phone. How to reverse?
The phone is still not encrypted and I don't want the encryption. But I cannot mount my SD card without encryption and I cannot change any security setting (only password is available as lock screen - till now I have a PIN). And, I cannot clear the certificate memory (Clear credentials is grayed).
I removed the exchange account, but this does not help.
I'm using a stock GT-I9506 with 5.0.1
Thanks for any help.
solved
I fount the solution. After selecting password as lock screen I started the encryption. During the last confirmation I aborted. After that all was like before.
