AOSP 4.2? - HTC Droid DNA

I'm gonna be getting my DNA in a few days, and I was just wondering if anyone is working on a AOSP 4.2 rom. My OG Incredible (somehow after 3 years) runs 4.2 and I really love Google Now, so I would like to stay that way if possible. Thanks!

Google now runs on this phone stock. As far as aosp, work has been started but cracking the RIL (radio interface layer) is going to take a while.

I thought Google Now was only available for JB, and that the DNA currently runs ICS. Or am I wrong?

You are correct about the first part. Google now only works on 4.1.x and 4.2.x(both called jelly bean). But the DNA runs 4.1.1, which is jelly bean and has Google now.

Anyone notice that when you load up http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1921 it show that were running 4.1.1 even though I do wish we had jelly bean already we don't sadly =(.
Didn't the international version get the jelly bean update? Maybe that's why.

True that the Korean version did, but this is a forum for the AT&T version they have the mega pixel changed but the OS isn't lol, it would be weird if they were referring to the international version when talking about the android version but not the camera.
I guess this is what happens when you get several versions of one phone.

International Galaxy Note Jelly Bean Leak

http://www.androidauthority.com/lea...-download-firmware-version-n7000xxlsa-135077/
International note just got the leak, only a matter of time now.
I know this has nothing to do with our phone, but it is great news to hear that some progress with stock Jelly Bean is being made.

Would be nice to have Jelly Bean. Real nice.
I have a Korean note, but the fact that there's a leak means it's being developed for the note, and it means ever note will probably get it.

Jelly bean

Well there ever be a jelly bean for the HTC Thunderbolt?

We get it from HTC and they won't release it for 90 days. There is still a possibility that even if we get it it may not run correctly on the thunderbolt. We will see though.

On a funnier note, my old OG Incredible is running JB 4.2, despite being an ancient phone. That thing must be super easy to dev for or something...compared to the Bolt anyway.

The thunderbolt is the first phone on Verizon that has svdo which let's you talk and surf the internet at the same time even on 3g data. HTC and Verizon have both been protecting this technology by keeping sources closed indefinitely on the radio software for one. Since a lot of the sources are closed devs don't have interest in finding hacks and workarounds to deal with the lack of source. That's why a lot of the devs left this device. Even still though we have official ics and in a few months we should have the sources we need to build custom kernels that are needed for making a jb from.

Yeah I can understand the frustration from the devs. If we get it I'll enjoy it, if not then oh well not a big deal in my book. Still a good enough phone for my broke budget right now either way

Anyone tried Sense 4.2.2.

It's pretty awesome. Everything I loved from 4.2.2. is there like the quick toggles. That's all I can visually see, but that's all I really cared about

I put LTE only in phone settings and get 2 bars. I also wish to you could add more quick toggles.

I meant ARHD 10.0 which is a Sense 5 based 4.2.2 rom. Sorry if I was unclear in any way. I had read that some people were having LTE issues with the latest rom but hadn't heard from a Tmobile LTE user. Good to hear that it does indeed work.

Jelly Bean 4.3!!!!

It is expected that there will be most probably no jelly bean 4.2 instead direct 4.3 update for our device in approx 1 month:laugh::laugh::laugh:
(have a contact in lg got to know it from there)
There above information may be incorrect so don't get angry if we don't get an update:highfive:
Edit:We are not getting any official jelly bean update!
Rather wrong info - why LG would do that ? It is better for them to sell new phones .

I agree. We can speculate all we want, doesn't mean anything. Unless we see a list or basically anything that proves it, it's all just speculation.

some fresh news ?
post your email & LG answer here
i think if there is a update, it must 4.2.2 and Optimus L9 don't update above that 4.2.2
Would be sweet if true, but considering LG is going to release L9 II, I find this hard to believe.
LG never updates its devices. I had the P500 and it got 2.3 from 2.2 and then was abandoned. We got 4.1 from 4.0. Most likely we will not get 4.2 or 4.3 officially for this phones considering they're almost 1 year old and it's not a flagship device.
Question....
But do we have hardware strong enough to run 4.3 or upcoming 5.0?
Then Lg must update our phones...

Our hardware is definitely strong enough to run 4.3 (I am currently running it right now, its smoother than stock 4.1.2) and probably 5.0 too.
Sadly, just because our hardware can run something doesn't mean LG is required to update it. I think we have a chance though, they might give us 4.3.

To me it doesn't matter so much if we get official 4.3 or not. I would care more about them giving us unlockable bootloader support n stuff.
