[Q] Multiview & Calendar Question - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I have the Verizion Note II like most in this area but wanted to be clear about Multiview. So I am rooted but I have not tried any custom roms...just did the exploit root. So as I understand it only a few specific apps work in Multiview with the Verizon version. Since I am rooted should I not be able to add additional apps to the multiview list or is this only a feature if I load a custom rom? Is there a way to do it without loading a custom rom?
Also I heard that on other versions of the note, at&t, sprint, etc. you could use an app that lets you draw on a calendar. Is there a specific samsung calendar.apk that someone can post to there dropbox to share for download so us crippled Verizon owners can have this functionality?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this.

Samsung Email app without security

Hi all
Been using various Roms on my sgs2 and currently using the excellent TheGingerMod rom.
One thing I have been looking for is the samsung stock email app (for using a Exchange email account for work) but without the security administrator functions activated, im not keen on my work having full access to my handset and even the remote wipe!
I've tried a couple of email apk's listed in the Apps & Themes section but can't find one that fully stops my work having access to remote wipe and other security functions.. Perhaps its not possible?
One I currently use is ok (gingerbread email) from gauner1986 but I miss being able to move emsils to my folders etc, which samsung does very well!
I found another email apk which was posted as being a modified samsung version but couldn't run it..simply crashed each time I ran it...
Anyone help on this please?... Love this community and all you dev's are simply brilliant at what you do!
Cheers
Mistxx

[Q] Modify Email.apk To Remove Restrictions?

Can anybody modify the email. Apk on the prime to remove the exchange restrictions? Or point me to one that is not deodexed and works? This for a rooted stock.
Try enhanced email .. there is no security necessary ...
I have tried this but would rather use the stock client. I like the integration with this one better. I have it like this on my AOKP Galaxy S2
So try the AOKP ROM for the Prime?

SMS tone for each contact

I read somewhere that ICS added the ability to assign a tone to am individual contact. Is this the case with SG3 or not? I couldn't figure it out and googling didn't seem to help (which means someone will post an easily found link).
I know there are apps like Go SMS and others that do this, but I wanted to know if I could do this within the ICS system. Thanks!

No one else interested in this? Is Ringo a good app to use if said feature is gone?
I'd like to know who to do this as well
Its not possible to use this feature as is not available stock, only by using a 3rd party mms app. Not even pure aosp ICS has this feature.
I don't think this is an ICS feature, but Handcent SMS can do this easily.

Don't have people app?

Hi,
For some reason, I can't find the people app, instead, it is just the normal Contacts app.
I'm using the international version of SIII, standard ICS, bought from Samsung Vietnam directly.
Can't seem to find the app on google store.
Please help?
PLease help?
The "people app" is also just contacts. The touchwiz version just doesn't look much like the original ICS contacts app. But if you really want this "people app" to appear then you'd have to either port it to touchwiz or go ahead and install an AOSP/AOKP custom rom.

[Q] Usability when running a custom rom without a google account

In the interests of security I want to operate my SGSII i9100 on a custom rom and without a google account. Now I still want a useful phone with apps so what are my options to find and install these apps and just how difficult is it. I've read about APK files for example... I'd like to know how user friendly this is to do given I'm new to rooting and will not have access to a google play account to install apps.
Thks
Why dont you just use your google account with custom rom?
Edit: there is no security issue on a custom ROM as far as I know

I just don't want association with google accounts given previous difficulties. To clarify; I'm interested to know how practically I can operate my SGSII when running a good custom rom (such as Cyanogenmod) without any google accounts. eg: how difficult will it be to add new applications manually.
Thks
Look dude, you seem to be a very paranoid or ill-informed person.
I have been using custom roms for years and never had a single problem with google accounts or security. If you're that concerned/paranoid then I would suggest not using a custom rom at all and staying with Sammy.
If you're asking how you can download paid apps without play store then that conversation is not allowed on XDA.
If you're that paranoid/concerned then stick with sammy roms or create a google account just for use on phone?
drug dealer alert better off getting a disposable. Way safer.
