Hi,
A couple of weeks ago, MW600 was working as expected. But at the moment, I've got connection problems. Is anyone experiencing anything similar, or do you have any tips?
I have tried restarting both the phone and the MW. The radio function works perfectly. I have tried renaming my phone.
Here's what I'm doing:
* Turn on MW
* Turn on bluetooth on phone
* Search for units -> pair the two units using code 0000 (starting from scratch, just in case)
* Phone states that MW is connected to phone and media sound
* If mediascape is playing, I hear ~1 second of media sound
* After 1-3 seconds, MW makes a sound (5 descending tones) -> the phone briefly states that MW is connected to media sound only -> the phone goes back to stating that the two units are paired (no connection)
What do you think?
Mine doesn't do that, so it's quite odd.. Do a full reset of the MW600 (manual here: turn off, press and hold down power until pairing indication appears, press power and call buttons simultaneously until headset turns off), delete it form the phone and try again. There's no reason for it to do that.
I found the battery life to be a bit short....10 minutes of streaming music and it shut off, all this after overnight charging.....I have repeat this 'issue' Friday night, Saturday and Sunday only to have MW600 dead at the office now
My runs 12-15 hours! Without any Problems.
Same, I can use mine for at least 4 days (about one and a half hours a day) before it needs recharging - are you using the right charger?

You press the buttons on the MW600 itself, not on the phone. Read the manual that I linked to, it's all in there.
hmm anyone else have problem with the ringtone playing thru the mw600? when the phone rings. i can hear it ring on the bt headset. but it's like play a bit.. then i hear a beep.. then it plays a bit more.. and beep it's like intermittent
The beep means, that the headset is changing from the mediamode to the telephonemode.
Update... The problem above came back. If seems related to using bluetooth and wifi simultaneously. Whenever I'm using BT and enable wifi, BT gets a lot of problems and usually shuts down. Does this happen to anyone else?
Also, in the past I could use the buttons on the headset to change songs etc. That doesn't work anymore, even after resetting the headset etc. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Update... Problem keeps coming back. My supplier suggested that BT and wifi might interfere. I'd be very surprised if a "smartphone" cannot play music over bluetooth and surf using wifi at the same time. My supplier promised to check it out and get back to me... That was ~2 weeks ago.
Is ANYONE else experiencing the same problem? Can you listen to music over BT, then enable wifi, connect to a network, and keep listening to music over BT?

I have wifi on 24h/day and most of the time i don't have any problems but sometime they get disconnected and i have to turn off/on BT and everything runs fine after.
I will have to try without wifi
Bluetooth and Wireless LAN (WiFi) both uses the same frequency space (~2.5 GHz)
Most of the times Bluetooth should be smart enough to adjust the frequency to co-exist with WiFi devices.
If your area are crowded with other Bluetooth devices and WiFi access-points, the Bluetooth set might having trouble settle on one quiet frequency, and might just sit there trying to switch frequency all the time, never finding a good frequency to settle on.
To help those poor Bluetooth devices along the way, try to change the WiFi access-points channels to create a free channel where the Bluetooth devices can settle on.
Also check if your WiFi access-points have a "Co-exist with Bluetooth" option, and enable it. It will however reduce the frequency-width and therefore the bandwidth slightly on the WiFi, but Bluetooth devices should work with less interruptions.
Connection problem with s60
Hello!
I have an MW600 as well - using with an s60 symbian nokia (6650 fold).
It works corectly when using in bt mode and listening music from the phone, but it alwways lost connection when turm the handsfree to radio. When listening radio, zthere is no connection, no way to get the calls or answer.
Do somebady have the same problem or somebody know how to solve it?
I did reset on mw600 and paired again, but i have the same problem.
á
i haven't had any problems with my MW. i always stream music from my pc via wifi to my X10, then to my MW via BT, witch is connected to a Reciver for party.
have you tryed restarting your MW after pairing.
My problem with this headset is that it doesn't:
1) caller name not displayed on incoming calls
2) Music/Mp3 tags not displayed on lcd (using Poweramp)
3) why does the phones itself rings not the headset just some beeps. Embarrassing when phone rings and then answer on headset.
Resetted but not solved any problems.

Ok I m using mw600 stereo bluetooth headset with CM 6.1.3 V4.4 rom for 2 days now. The pairing is easy but the issues that I am facing are;
* phone has crashed/rebooted couple of times while pairing/ unpairing.
* besides first fact, it pairs without any problems and very easily.
* I have used it with mixzing and doubletwist media players. In both cases the music lags and sometimes the lag/pause is about 2-3 seconds long.
* incoming call shows phone number only, no contact name.
* voice dialing works.
* when I m listening to music or not listening to music on incoming call the headset converts to phone mode fine but after the call is finished, the headset doesnt reverts back to media mode that is, the music doesn't plays again and I tried connecting and disconnecting again but only way to make it work again is restart the headset.
* battery is so far ok for the headset. Infact I runned out of my phone battery while I was trapped in underground and listening to music.lol
* even the headset is connected, if I play youtube video, the sound comes from the phone speaker. In order for it to come from headset I have to play some music from using my headset controls and then play the video and then pause the track. This also happens with music app aswell sometimes. Like the headset is connected and if I play the song using my phone, it will play through phone speaker and I have to pause it and play it using my headset controls in order to listen through my headset.
So far its oki but its annoying the laggy music thing. It only occours in music playback, I spoke to my mate on phone for couple of hours using this headset and both ends could listen loud and clear.
i also paired it with my inspiron duo tablet and its working flawlessly....so anyone have any work around of the above mentioned problems? anyone facing the same problems? is it because i am using custom ROM? i am ok with the headset not showing song tags and stuff but music being laggy is not acceptable...because thats what i bought it for!
Any help would be much appreciated?
thanks
I just purchased a bluetooth headset (LG HBS700) and now Im having a stuttering issue when notifications come in.
I never had this until i connected the headset. If the screen is on the notification is fine and plays normally, but when i have the phone in my pocket with the screen off it happens. I have tried switching notification tones as well as switching to a different ROM and the problem is still there.
Has anyone else had this happen to them or know of a way to fix it?
I had a similar issue with TuneIn radio. Listening over WiFi was fine while the screen was on, but the music stuttered when the screen shut off. Seems like it limits the amount of power received to that particular radio but not sure. I don't have my phone on me but are there any power saving features for Bluetooth that can be altered?
Thanks for the response. I think you misunderstood tho.
Its NOT the sound coming from the bluetooth device that is the problem, it is the notifications coming from the phone. ie when i get a txt msg or an email, when my phone is alerting me.
Trying to determine if this is a software bug or a hardware problem. Looking for some additional people to test and verify.
ISSUE:
While listening to music, I hear a periodic, short duration, low-volume burst of static. This only happens when WiFi is on but not connected (searching for network to join). This also only happens with headphones (at least I have not been able to hear it over bluetooth).
NOTES:
I have tried both the HTC stock music app to listen to music stored on the external SD card and Google Play Music to stream data from the cloud.
The period of the noise is 15 seconds when on a Jelly Bean ROM (I have tried both MeanBean and xHausx's stock ROM. When I was on MeanROM ICS, the period appeared to be 17 seconds.
The duration of the noise is 1/4 second or less.
The volume of the noise is very low. I recommend trying to reproduce the problem with very quiet music.
Wifi must be on and scanning to hear the noise. With Jelly Bean, the WiFi scanning interval appears to be 15 seconds (I did not check the scanning interval when on ICS). I recommend not being near a network that you can connect to when testing this.
I am S-OFF with the original LazyPanda HBOOT (1.12.2222) with the latest firmware installed from xHausx's thread.
BACKGROUND:
Here are some posts where this issue has been discussed in other threads:
JustinChase's first post regarding the issue in the MeanROM ICS Thread
Follow up later in the thread: #1, #2
Continuing discussion in MeanBean thread
Thanks in advance for any testing you can do!
I have the same exact problem even connected to WiFi. As long as I have WiFi turned on I can reproduce the static noises you speak of on both stock rooted 4.1 and meanbean roms. S-off also :/
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
I also have the issue, but only when wifi is turned on, but not connected to a network. If I have no network remembered (nothing for it to try to connect to), I don't hear the problem then.
The noise is a static, crackling noise, which sounds like 'machine noise' that I also hear when I'm listening to my desktop computer with headphones thru the crappy motherboard connections. On the desktop, whenever I move the mouse wheel, or put the system under load, I hear 'machine noise' thru the headphones, likely related to poorly designed/shielded onboard audio.
This makes me think if might be hardware related, but the fact that it only happens when wifi is trying to connect to a remembered network makes me think it's software related.
The noise is always the same volume, which isn't very loud. If you listen to your music at 1/2 or higher volume, you will likely not hear it, but if you listen at about 1/4 volume, or lower, it's a pretty loud and very annoying noise. I almost always hear it at the end of a song, but hear it throughout songs also.
I'm s-off, so don't really want to go complaining to Sprint about it yet, but since it seems only a few other people have reported the same issue, I suspect it might by phone specific.
I would really appreciate anyone/everyone testing this and providing feedback, even if it's 'I don't hear this, you're crazy', at least I'd know
To test, make sure that you have a wifi network remembered on the phone, go to a place where wifi cannot connect to the network (or any other network), then play music with the stock music app (the red musical note icon), make sure the volume is less than 1/3 and you should hear this noise within a minute or 2. Some have reported every 15 seconds, but I'm not sure I hear it quite that often. If you make it thru 2 songs with no noise, you probably don't suffer.
Thanks, looking forward to some feedback
Hmm... Very odd. I might have a little input or it may be completely unrelated.
Are you guys with this issue using PowerAmp music player (i use that, it is AMAZING).
Anyway, I noticed that while using any global beats addins, I usually get a weird staticky noise through my headphones... BUT, this only happens while playing a song and another sound comes up. In example, I am playing an MP3, and I get a text message, or a low battery warning. When the other sounds come into play, it disrupts the music playing, and the notification doesn't even make its sound; just the static interruption where the sound WOULD have been. A fix for this, is to enable [maybe disable? not sure which is the default setting, but just uncheck/check depending if its on or not] the Direct Volume Control option. Doing this allows me to hear the other sounds while playing the music with no interruption.
Now, to get on board with the OP who has this problem on WiFi only. Perhaps it is the same scenario as myself. Maybe your WiFi is giving some sort of SU notice from the makesh that the WiFi mod asks root for.
Sorry if it sounds a bit confusing... But hope it helps!
EDIT: After reading some posts above, I see the problem comes in even with the stock music player. Idk, I still think it has something to do with MusicBox/DSPManager/Volume+ and the WiFi SU notices

That could be a bad port... Or it may be an IRQ problem If you feel comfortable playing with your BIOS on the PC, look into your IRQ settings
Some new info:
I clean installed MeanBean 0.6, connected to my home WiFi, then went to work this morning. Now that I'm at work (and not connected to my home network), the period of the noise is back at 17 seconds. I went to the WiFi settings and deleted my home network settings. Now the noise is at 15 second intervals. The volume of the noise also seems quieter.
I connected to my work's WiFi (they are finally letting "non-corporate controlled devices" connect to the network) and the noise is gone.
I'll have to wait until after work to retest the interval with a remembered network present.
Yesterday, when testing with a stock ROM, I only tested when I had never connected to a network before. So the period may not be ROM or OS version specific.

I have only tried the stock HTC app and Google Play Music. I have some tunes on the Amazon server, so I'll try that one later today.

I don't see the makesh app looking for root when on a Jelly Bean ROM (it doesn't show up in the SuperSU logs either). I wonder if HTC changed that in the 3.15 update.

Where might I find this setting you refer to? As you noticed (after you wrote this), I'm only using the stock music application, and can't find this setting anywere. I suspect it's in the PowerAmp player, but wanted to verify, so that I can try adjusting it. FWIW, I do hear the quiet notification noise while the music is playing (which used to stop the music on ICS - this is MUCH better).

I'd like to 'fix' this issue also, but it's been a LONG time since I've worried about IRQ issues. Windows 7 (and XP?) deals with IRQ issues well, so I haven't seen any conflicts in years. What in the BIOS might I be looking for, and how might I adjust it to try to eliminate this issue? I'm plenty comfortable in the BIOS, but the only IRQ settings I remember are related to forcing it to use a specific IRQ, but wouldn't know what to try changing for positive effect.
I'm plugging into the front audio port of the machine, which connects to the motherboard via a HD audio connector (if I remember correctly). I believe I have the same noise issue when connecting to the audio out on the back of the machine, which is directly connected/part of the motherboard. In fact, I've heard these 'machine noises' on all of my machines for years, so just always assumed it was a symptom of the lower quality audio connections. However, I'd LOVE to eliminate this issue also, if possible.
Sorry for the off topic
This sounds like it's just poor shielding somewhere. I believe the wifi antenna is near the headphone jack so it's probably causing some interference there.
Exactly Haus. Try different headphones or speakers. You could for your headphones get THIS then run a couple of wraps around it through the center near the phone jack, and see if that helps. For speakers the signal could be coming in from many places (power input, signal input, with in audio amp, or the speakers themselves. Now if the sound is coming from the speaker inside the phone.. Well you have much bigger problems than a ROM.
I have the static issue when streaming over Bluetooth with the screen on, wifi on or off, on both stock and custom roms. Turn the screen off, no static. Also, Bluetooth disconnects at random if I leave the screen on and will not reconnect until I unpair and repair with my stereo.
It has to be an issue with jb, as I've never had this issue until the update. Fwiw I'm thinking connections optimizer (on or off) has a hand in this issue.
Think I'm having this too
I was noticing this today on wifi. It would make a crrrik like a cog sound every so often, at first i thought it was the song, then when it did it on the next two I found this thread. It was not just 1x 2x per song it was almost on beat at times. I heard it probably 30 times in 30 second song. Another thought was some file/notification was making the sound in the background.
Turning wifi off so far has resolved problem. It was really annoying. I don't think its an antennae issue since its the same noise each time exactly (including duration) about a .25sec noise. Thinking of antennae interference its usually a scratchy sound that is intermittent duration some long some short etc.
It was extremely unbearable as I listen to the lowest setting on the phone with beats off.
While my watch is a calisto 100, Im going to assume for the sake of assuming things that for the most part, all of these watches have this quirk.
I got the watch a few days ago just to see if It could replace my gear. And it sorta did. I also wanted to toss some music on it/ spotify for jogging/etc.
First Thing i noticed was my bluetooth headset would connect and then promptly disconnect. I noticed if i turned off phone audio and only enabled media audio, it would last a bit longer... random...sometimes a whole song..sometimes 10 seconds....etc.
To troubleshoot I started out knowing that if phone audio was unchecked i could at least connect and listen for a few seconds or minutes.
So I started there, wifi off/data on/ bluetooth on. still would randomly disconnect..I then wrote a little app to grab the bluetooth wakelock to see if that was what the deal was...No dice..it stays awake in sleep mode. I then put the watch in sports mode to see if there was any difference..keeping the hardware awake... No dice..same thing....So then I disabled the data connection and low and behold ..the headset stays connected.
as soon as i enable data...the disconnects randomly happen.. Im assuming again that the fact i can go 10 minutes or 30 seconds or 15 minutes and 10 seconds...or whatever random amount has something to do with the radio transmitting and receiving.
Anyone have a second to duplicate anything ive done here....
The other variable is that I am running on tmoble, so no 3g.. good old edge...I have not gotten desperate enough yet to toss in an att simcard to see of radio on in 3g mode with bluetooth works well ..so thats another variable here.
I have not the faintest idea why phone audio crashes the bluetooth driver..but it does..and requires a reboot

Excellent troubleshooting. What batch/firmware do you have? I don't use sim/data on this so I'm couldn't replicate your observation just yet.
However, days after I got this, I tried bluetooth connection on 2 different BT speakers (Monster and Supertooth) --no disconnects even on screen off. There was a millisecond gap when screen turned off but that's it, music just kept on playing. Maybe the latest firmware already have some BT fixes. Dunno but glad BT music streaming works for me. I have yet to try it on my Backbeat Go2 BT headset.
I have 4th batch 1/8 2100
Kernel: 3.4.5

Hi,
Whenever my phone connects to my car's bluetooth, it will automatically start playing the last media I played. The problem, is that I will go DAYS without ever using media on my phone so I will resume a podcast from last week despite the fact that the podcast app is closed. I notice that even when I force stop the app, I can go into the Menu, go to Media, and still see it sitting there with no way to close it. Also, if I pause the media...after a while my car will disconnect from the bluetooth and then reconnect...which then resumes the media again. Oh, and if I get a notification about something like an email...you guessed it, the media will resume again. This is beyond frustrating because I often like to go on quiet car rides...and again this happens even when I force close the app (podcast, spotify, whatever).
This was also an issue with my S10, but not my Pixels. This has to be a OneUI or Galaxy specific issue. I have seen mentions of this bt/media issue in other boards when searching but the only thing I have seen to semi fix the problem is by setting up Tasker.
I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue and has resolved it. I am also wondering if there is a way to switch to a vanilla android os ROM so I don't have to use OneUI anymore. To clarify, I have been using Nova, but that doesn't change how the phone handles media.
Thank you for your help.
