Hi im new here. I bought a dell venue yesterday and i noticed that theres no 3g icon but i can send sms and call. I tried to change the apn but nothing happened. i tried to restart,factort reset it didnt work. Can someone help me?

Hi guys, i've got an S5830 it was an italian TIM phone, i flashed 2.3.3 ad it worked, after that i flashed 2.3.4 S5830XXKPH , from that moment i can't use data connection 2g/3g nor wi-fi... it didn't surf at all... on the display near the signal bar 2g or 3g aren't displayed, wifi is connected, but no internet... i reflashed any of the 2.3.3 firmware on samfirmware but nothing change... it seems that packet data doesn't work at all... someone know some workaround?
And sorry for my english... i find some simil problem on forum, but no one solve my issue...

Hey, all good. Just type by hand your mobile provider APN settings(Settings-Wireless...-Mobile Net..-Access Po..-Then push the menu button-New APN-Then type in Name what ever you want and in APN exactly what it must be). If you dont know the APN, just call your provider and ask the APN.

I have a similar problem so I thought to post here.
I have a I5500L.
It came with this firmware out of the box I5500LUYJP9 (2.2) it was locked to Movistar (Venezuela).
I unlocked it with SRS to use it with my carrier (Digitel Venezuela).
No matter what I try, I cannot make it work with 3G, only EDGE.
I've tried many things, changing bands, forcing WCDMA, and a lot of tricks found on this and other forums, but nothing works.
It's not that it doesn't work with 3G and goes to EDGE, but that te phone is only working on basic GSM, and cannot connect to the network if I change any setting.
Funny thing is my wife has an I5500 (without the L), it was bought unlocked, it came with some European Firmware, and hers works perfectly with 3G.
She has the same carrier as me.
Another thing to note is, my phone detects a network called "Digitel", her phone detects a network called "DIGITEL-GSM".
¿What could be the problem?
¿Could I flash some European firmware to my phone to make this work?
¿Will this affect the SIM unlock?

there no danger in changing basebands, the only thing is, some will, and some wont work. you should just try the baseband from wherever you are 1st, but if that doesnt work, try another. doesnt matter if you are from UK and you use an american baseband, if it works, its completely fine

In my case not work, i test all baseband in this link. Phone purchased in amazon and flashed with AROJP8 (Argentina-ROM)

I have a dell streak 5 retail unlocked phone/tablet running stock 2.2.2 and after rooting my phone I am no longer able to connect to any cell network, I followed this guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17965116&postcount=11 to flash the latest stock unlocked retail ROM and recovery but still no reception ?
Check for APN names (settings/wireless networks/mobile networks/APN names) I don't know who your carrier is, but for US T-Mobile, the APN name is: epc.tmobile.com (this should be entered into the APN name field).... if it's not there, manually enter it. Hope that helps

My friend say he can unlock the operator lock, for this, he use a program called medusa box, after a few minutes he finally can unlock the phone, but, now, the phone only can connect to edge band, the 3G don't work anymore, somebody can help me?

Did you try relocking the phone ?
Maybe a bad unlock procedure.

You can try this. I found that in some roms it is more easy to change than in others. Miui roms seem to have more settings to change than stock based roms.

Since Claro doesn't use 2100 MHz band you will have Edge only. Or switch to carrier with 2100 band for 3G.

Well, if 850 and 1900 are what is supported in your Country, and both 850 and 1900 are not available in the X10i, it probably would be best for you to sell the X10i and buy an X10a.

Since your OP stated it was an X10i, that would have been the problem with no hspa. I am not sure but perhaps restoring to original 2.3.3 and baseband following the link below exactly might get your hspa working. Good luck.

My phone is a x10a model from the start, I tried the original rom from local claro (android 1.6 and android 2.1) I tried the SE generic version update (android 2.3.3) custom roms + Kernel: doom kernel 1133 + Xperia S ported to X10 from chickensito (Android 2.3.7)

people have helped you and you need to find a new carrier as the one you have dose not support the radio frequencies of the x10a try to trade sell it and buy a x10i or get a carrier that supports the radio of the phone you have.

My local carrier (both) work with Xperia X10a, X10i don't work here.
try if you can get a band on another carrier preferably does have the the
2100mhz band just to confirm that your radio is working

I have bought a Chinese phone juma v9 from UAE but it came with network restrictions. In my country india, Data traffic works well but no income or outgoing calls. When calling it shows 'no network available' but it shows full network in network bar along with 4G written on it. I think there is country / network lock on this device.
How can I unlock this?
