Why the screen comes back after pressing the hard button to lock the device or pressing any locking software.
Is there any special settings need to be done.
Idk but it happens to me 2...it's so annoying

Mine started doing it a while back and it turned out to be my screen protector. I was using Stealth Guard protectors at the time.

Hmm, Im not using a screen protector.
Are those buttons along the bottom actually buttons, or are they just touch sensititve?
See if it tends to work better if you press it as soon as the button back lights go off.... I had to return my first vibrant because of this hardware issue.

Yes, it works better when the backlight goes off! Damn it, I don't want to have to return this phone. Its easy to get into download mode...
Could it have anything to do with the rom I'm running? (Obsidian v4) its supposed to support a kernel with backlight notification...

So when the sreen goes dark, after not touching it for a short time I press the home button to wake it back up. as soon as I do that the screen flashes the page/app I was on and then returns to home. So I have to re enter the app/webpage and this is pissing the living s*** out of me! Any fix? Not happened on ANY other phone.

It is because you are pressing the home button, and the phone has not made it the lock screen yet. Thus when you 'wake' the phone it simply thinks you are pressing the home button, and returning you to the home screen.
Use the power button to turn the screen back on, it will only turn the screen on and not return you to the home page

Since a couple of the kernels both AOSP and Sense have sweep2wake feature I am wondering if someone can make a mod to disable the power button for short press. The action that would be needed to turn the screen on and off. I think it would be a really cool feature
I know that long press is required for reboot and for hard reboot and I defiantly don't want to remove that.
I am running CM10 on Komodo rls.15 kernel
Thanks
Hopeful bump

I would be afraid to do that on the off chance that sweep to wake fails..

That's why you always have a backup

Why disable it, if it fails to turn on the screen then you got to wait to do whatever you wanted to do for your phone to reboot, just don't use the power button if you prefer to sweep

Is there anyway to map the menu button to one of the capacitive keys so I can get rid of this dumb menu pop up at the bottom of the screen? There has to be a way

Did you even try to search? There are currently two different options and both are easily found if you put in minimal effort.
I'm using the pattern unlock option . But before that screen come up another screen pops up. How do I get rid that screen so that when I hit the power button it goes straight to the pattern unlock?
