Does anyone know how to get rid of the box in the bottom lower corner of the notepad? Never seen this before, btw, what is its purpose?

sing xda app-developers app
Pinch-zooming out so that it shows the entire page will hide that.
It only shows up when you're zoomed in or if the note at 100% doesn't fit the window size (like if you're using it in multi-window.)

Yes, it is normal (just check the option to not notify you about it again).

How about a way to do it just through the phone.

RomToolbox is how I adjust fonts and a lot of other settings.

Use AndFTP if you have to do it on phone. It's just an ftp server...
Here are screens of the settings that work.

When you connect you'll be in the root directory, go to flip font folder and navigate from there.

install ROM Toolbox (free version works) and in the AdBlocker part you can get a lot of info
you can use Addons Detector to scan all apps and see which one is using push notifications

Guys the ad persists... this is what the ad looks like...
Edit: for any of you having issues like mine...i found a good trick to get rid of it....when the ad is in the status bar....hold it and then click app info...and it will jump to settings and show you the app causing the problem.....
