Whats best to have unlocked or locked bootloader - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi i have sony mini st15i, i have rooted and upgraded to latest GB stockrom build.
Now my question is what is better to have locked or unlocked bootloader? I can unlock it if i wish too, i have noticed rom for both locked and unlocked.

If you can I would unlock, but remember that will void your warranty
You have more custom roms, better custom roms, non stock-based roms, custom kernels, custom recoverys (we have some kernels with TWRP now) and many more features!
Unlocked for the win :good:

Ok thank you bro ill be doing this tonight, what is most stable and better rom out there? In your opinion? Thanks bro

Sorry but asking for the best rom is not allowed
But I'd use cyanogenmod (10) by FXP :good:

Start to update to 2.3.3 official !
You can post in the right section Q&A
I'm using a combination of the stock 2.3.3, Wolfbreak, and a custom kernel from azuzhu. Works pretty smoothly for me =)

ok
what rom you advice me to flash?
I'd try real ics lite or MiniCMSandwich.
Minicmsandwich looks like a vanilla rom, so it's got a nice Design.
Just scroll around in development section and Open some threads. There is written, if it's for Locked Bootloader, too.
If you like miui you could install HasaMIUI, as far as I Know it's for Locked Bootloader, too

Locked vs. Unlocked bootloader?

I have been wondering what's the difference between locked and unlocked bootloaders? Is it about the capabilities that you are able to do with an unlocked bootloader or what is the thing between them?

Hi, its not related to phone performance, its related to flashing custom ROMs mate.
There are recoveries which you can use to flash custom ROMs on locked bootloader, but you will never taste ROMs like Cyanogen Mod, which is only for unlock bootloader.

With unlocked boot loader you can install custom kernel

Is there any way to install custom kernels on locked bootloaders? Mine XU's bootloader is locked (unlockable) and I'm running firedroid which is based on (if I remember correctly) FXP146 or 147, and those are based on cyanogenmod, right?

You cant bro, the only thing you can do is flash kernel for locked bootloader and install roms for locked bootloader.
So the only difference between locked and unlocked are the mods you can install (i.e. user interface)? So if I'm happy with my UI there's really no point in unlocking?

Stock kernels are set with limitations.. Whereas Custom Kernels dont have.
The problem is most custom kernels dont support 480p or 720p video recording like stock kernels.
I am having a NEO V with Stock Kernel and a Custom ROM (UHD 4.0) with Root privileges.
Depends upon the type of ROM u r using. Mobiles with 720P support give their best with Stock Kernels.
basically you will never see past ics (on a U) if you have a locked bootloader

First of all did you root your phone ? . I doubt , you MIGHT need to unlock your bootloader to flash some roms for your Xperia Go .
Then go http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/go-development
and look for rom which say stable generally JB roms are stable so go to them first look for rating of the thread , If it is great then you should look at working and non working list , If everything is fine and you want to go further there are instructions under "HOW TO INSTALL" . But I personally think stock is always stable .
HIT THANKS FOR SURE
Men is the first think I do to my phone root, and unlock the BL, -.- my question is because a wanna stay in stock Rom for a time, in find one stock 6.2.a.1.100 is more stable and use a mod to build.prop!! Thanks a lot for the reply
