Hey guys! Recently I have encountered a problem with my phone.Whenever I call someone, they complain that my voice is very feeble and sounds like I have covered the mic or my mouth with some cloth. Now,when I switch to hands-free mode then mic works properly.
My question is that can this be a software problem or is it a hardware problem?
If it is hardware related then how much will it cost me to get the mic replaced as I'm using it for two years and this is by far the best phone I have ever used.
I am currently running Omega Rom and I will install a new version today to check if it was a software issue but till then can anyone tell me about the probability of it being hardware issue?
UPDATE:
Fixed my phone A layer of link was formed on the mic and I had to clear it out using a needle properly.I don't know where the ink came in from

Hey guys,
I'm having a hardware issue with the mic. When I make calls people can't hear me. I had recently replaced the screen on my phone and think that the issue may be related to the disassembling of the phone. It is possible that the mic could have been damaged during that process or was damaged due to the fairly substantial fall the phone encountered when the screen got shattered.
So for those of you who have had any sort of experience with the internals of the device, could you let me know if the part I found is the correct one and should fix the issue with people not hearing me during calls? (By the way, they can hear me via speakerphone so I don't know if it makes a difference.)
Here's the link to the part: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...763348?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4abbc3fc14
This part is located at the top of the phone where you plug in the headset. The phone may have another mic and that's where I need your expertise to verify wheTHER my searched item is the right part. Can anyone chime in, please? Thank you.

Are you on stock? If not have you tried going to stock

I wasn't and I went to stock to no avail. I researched more and found the part for the lower mic located near the USB port and ordered it on eBay. Once received I will switch it out to see if it resolves the issue.

no I just flashed different Roms thinking that it was going to be a problem with the Rom but that really was not the problem with it. The problem is with the USB charger port there's a mic there that's went bad and the reason why people can't hear me when i make and receive call . I swap out my friend's old USB charger port that had a problem with the usb charger part but a good mic and I was able to make calls with no problem and hear people fine now here the part
Hi all i have posted this in the omate forum as i believe the 2 watches to be very similar if not technically identical and was wondering how others have found the call quality of there watch. I received my iconbit callisto today and i am more than impressed with everything about it apart from the mic during calls it sounds like i am underwater when calling using the watch mic with some strange background interference noises, i can hear the caller perfectly through the strap speaker but they say my end sounds strange, calling using a bluetooth headset is clear though.
Anyone else have experienced this or know a fix? I have heared there is a patch available ensec i think its called, anyone know if the patch helps with the mic?
Im amazed with the performance of the watch its just a shame about the watch mic

EnSec does not fix the mic issue however it is very unwise to use your Callisto without the patch. There is also no fix for the mic issue at this time.

I have too this problem with my watch Omate TrueSmart, I hope that it will fix.
Arie.
I wish we could figure out what is the cause of some TrueSmart watches, but not all of them, having the noisy mic issue.
If the same watch models running the same firmware are behaving differently as regards the sound quality of the mic, it seems to me that the difference must be in how they were assembled ? If so, it might be correctable.

Thanks for the replys, i have seen your youtube tutorial Loki for rooting and applying the ensec patch and i will be having a go at that very soon, as for the watch mic i have tested it using the voice recorder and also sending voice via whatsapp and the mic works fine its only during a call it becomes slightly unclear with strange background noises yet when speaking through a bluetooth headset during a call its perfect. i am going to try it through viber and skype through wifi and 3g then again with another sim card to see if i can work out whats going on, such a small annoying problem on a great device.
I really hope it is a firmware/software issue so it can maybe be rectified but it might be just interference from the cell radio messing with the mic
Is this a common fault with all of these smartwatches? or only some and maybe we could find out if its effecting both the European and US versions as dont we both run on a slightly different cell radio frequency
Im in the UK using a giffgaff sim which runs on the o2 network.

Got mine yesterday but
I cant use it as a phone without a BT head set, Call quality is horrible on the other end. Hope they have a fix soon
master reset
This might be a dumb questions for some but I can not figure out how to do a master reset on my Omate.
Any help please
As the title says I installed CyanogenMod 11 (cm-11-20140628-NIGHTLY-i9300) on my GT-I9300.
I am using two different sets of Bluetooth headphones, one is BeeWi BBH100 & Novogo BT02.
I am aware these are not Top Notch and not professional.
The issue is well that the connection is kinda interrupts randomly when the phone is in my jeans pocket or even just lays on the table in front of me.
Anyone else has similar issues with different headphones? Is it a CM11 bug?

Try your headphones with a different phone and see if the problem persists. If the problem persists on a different phone, then your headphone is the problem. If not, look into a different ROM or someone might find out a solution for you.

As far as i know this is a known bug in CM 11, i might be wrong but i think they included a possible fix for it in the nightly from 2-3 days ago.
I bought one of these models (EU version) 3 days ago and everyone complains about the sound of my phone. It seems that the voice is cut or distorted .:crying:
I am on a second unit because I thought this was a problem with the first unit but it seems to be a problem coming from the factory.
Does anyone have such an experience?
If changing the phone doesn't solve the problem what would you suggest me to do?
I believe this problem is related to the type of speaker that samsung chose for this handset, I have the same problem with calling. This sound is far from satisfactory.
Hi all, I got this phone a few weeks ago and overall it is very nice phone. But I started noticing an issue with the ear speaker (the top speaker) for the last 3-4 days. I think after about a day of use the ear speaker stops working completely! So when I answer a phone call I cannot hear the other person unless I turn on speaker mode. I cannot hear stereo sound for multimedia such as videos or music and only the bottom speaker works. This gets fixed after I restart the phone. So it sounds like a stupid software issue of some kind! Why is this happening? Has anyone else experienced this issue? How do I fix this?
This sounds like a hardware problem. I have never experienced anything like that. I'd ask for a replacement from where you bought it or send it to warranty services.
How is that a hardware problem? It sounds like a software problem because after rebooting the speaker works 100% without any issues. If it is a hardware issue it should stop working even if I restart the phone. This is a classic case of crappy software that gets into a bad state and gets fixed when you turn it off and on again! And so Samsung should be able to fix it by fixing their software. I do not have to get a replacement or warranty for a brand new device!

Hardware problems include SoC defects that can cause issues like the one you're describing. For example, some old Intel processors had a bug that only happened when you ran a specific set of instructions, but the issue occured because there was a fault in the hardware at a micro-scale level. Software issues usually affect more users, and this is the first time I've heard of it. Obviously I can't say for sure if this is the problem.
Warranties exist exactly for this purpose: to correct manufacturing defects that are not caught by quality control.
This is a brand new phone so who knows how wide spread the issue is. Of course this is the first report of it in this very new forum as well. I highly doubt an issue in the SoC is going to cause a problem in a speaker. The sort of bug you are describing was an issue with the Intel floating point processor bug causing problems in calculations. This is a very clear cut issue of the software deciding to stop using the speaker at a random point. So I am not buying your argument that it is a hardware issue. And software issues can also be random and effect a small group of people. I have enough experience writing software to realize that such obscure bugs can also be software issues.
But arguing whether it is a software or hardware issue is not the point. I want to know if more people are experiencing this on this phone or even previous Samsung devices to get an idea as to what the problem is.

Also I have seen some other people complain about very similar issues with both the A52 5G and the A51 recently on the official Samsung forums. So to me it seems like crappy software.
Just get it replaced/repaired under warranty.
submit an error report via samsung members app if it happens again
have you tried it in the safe mode? or try to go into *#0*# and test the speaker
Clear system cache.
Do a hard reboot (not a factory reset!!!*)
Disable all power management; it's well known for causing erratic behavior.
*although a factory reset may initially fix this issue it will most likely return.
Find the root cause... play with it.
did u resolve problem witth speaker? on samusng community towsnads ppl have the same issues \
A52 Ear Speaker Issue
Hello, Do any of the A52 5G owners face issue with the ear speaker being bad quality? I have this issue on a brand new phone. When going in *#0*# I can test the ear speaker only and it has bad buzzing noise like a faulty speaker. The issue is that I went back to the shop where I bought the phone...
