[Q] I installed CyanogenMod 11 and there's something weird with Bluetooth - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the title says I installed CyanogenMod 11 (cm-11-20140628-NIGHTLY-i9300) on my GT-I9300.
I am using two different sets of Bluetooth headphones, one is BeeWi BBH100 & Novogo BT02.
I am aware these are not Top Notch and not professional.
The issue is well that the connection is kinda interrupts randomly when the phone is in my jeans pocket or even just lays on the table in front of me.
Anyone else has similar issues with different headphones? Is it a CM11 bug?

Try your headphones with a different phone and see if the problem persists. If the problem persists on a different phone, then your headphone is the problem. If not, look into a different ROM or someone might find out a solution for you.

I am facing Same Issue

As far as i know this is a known bug in CM 11, i might be wrong but i think they included a possible fix for it in the nightly from 2-3 days ago.

Liquid ICS 9/9/12 Bluetooth issue

HI all,
I can't post in the Dev section yet so I will ask here. I installed this ROM last night and it all went well except for today in the car while testing bluetooth I have no audio unless I switch the source away from Bluetooth and back (say, set it to Speaker then back to BT). I did a full wipe again and re-loaded the ROM and still have the same problem. I am using the .19 radio if that makes a difference and my car has the older (2008) Ford Sync system (2.1).
Is anyone else having a similar issue?

This seems to happen quite a bit. It's a semi known issue from a number of cusom ROMs. Have never seen a solid fix for it except what you just described. Some people have this problem and need to competely turn it off and back on to get it to work! If it truely is a dealbreaker for you (it shouldn't be...not that big of a glitch), best bet is to stick to a ROM closer to the original tbolt software.
Its not that its a dealbreaker but it kind of defeats the purpose of using handsfree in the car when I would have to pick the phone up and switch BT inputs to get it working. I had a low Bluetooth volume problem with a rom before which was fixed with, I think, a different radio but I never had this one before. I noticed someone else posted the problem in the official thread so hopefully comes out if it. Thanks.
So this happens every time u get a call, or only every time you connect to the car?
I haven't received any calls yet while connected to BT but it happened when making calls and it seems once I do the toggle to get things working then it "sticks" and works thereafter. I haven't tried reconnecting while in the car to see if the fix would stick afterwards but this morning when I got into my car I tried making a call and it worked great first time and I know I rebooted the phone multiple times last night with doing backups of the rom, etc. Maybe it somehow worked itself out or maybe it's just an intermittent thing. I didn't change anything since the install.

[FIXED}[Q] Mic not working properly

Hey guys! Recently I have encountered a problem with my phone.Whenever I call someone, they complain that my voice is very feeble and sounds like I have covered the mic or my mouth with some cloth. Now,when I switch to hands-free mode then mic works properly.
My question is that can this be a software problem or is it a hardware problem?
If it is hardware related then how much will it cost me to get the mic replaced as I'm using it for two years and this is by far the best phone I have ever used.
I am currently running Omega Rom and I will install a new version today to check if it was a software issue but till then can anyone tell me about the probability of it being hardware issue?
UPDATE:
Fixed my phone A layer of link was formed on the mic and I had to clear it out using a needle properly.I don't know where the ink came in from

I9300 - Suddenly: No sound at all

Hello dear friends,
I've been running my I9300 for about 1 1/2 years now. Yesterday, after weeks and weeks of not changing anything (PA3.99RC2), the speakers AND microphone stopped working. So now sound when playing music, no sound during calls and no functionallity of the microphone (Google Voice and Calls). The only thing, which can be related to this issue was a testing of an old external speaker, which i connected to the phones audio jack (and which did not work but did crackling sounds).
I am sure its not a software issue, as I allready reflashed PA3.99 and also returned to 4.1.2 and 4.3 stock rom. What I can say is, that the phone is running quietly well and fast, WiFi, internet, all. But: If I run something with a sound, e.g. tapping on the loudness controll or even starting mp3 or youtube it becomes laggy and stuttering, even rebooting sometimes.
My last workaround was to connect a bluetooth headset to have an "external soundcard" but i still get no sound at all and it becomes to lag.
In my opinion, the soundchip of the device was grilled by using the damaged external speakers and so it responds weirdly to signals -> generating lags on use. Do you have other ideas what could be wrong?
Now for a solution: I think, buying a new (old) mainboard on ebay and changing that part might be the best possibility. Or do you think, the damaged module is in the upper part with the audiojack and the antenna?
Thanks a lot in advance,
cmoe

I would suggest to consult a mechanic, rather than trying by yourself.

Ah, almoust forgot this:
The mechanic told me that changing one of the audio chips would cost 89€. Changing both chips would cost 130€.
I got a new (used) mainboard for 50€, changed it and everything is working well (including all those reidculous data not wiped on the new chip ;P)
Greetings!

Bluetooth drops when calling out or receiving

Hi everyone,
Probably a longshot but here goes.
I have a Plantronics Voyager Legend bluetooth ear-piece. It pairs well and the sound is awesome. Some while ago I started having some problems though that the piece disconnects/drops when I receive or dial out. It's fixed by pushing the 'headset' button again to connect but it's quite irritating that I have to do this everytime. I have tried a lot of roms and kernels without avail. Most of them just made the bluetoothproblem worse or made the bluetooth fail totally. I am now running ArchiDroid V1.7.18 with boeflla kernel and it's the same problem as I had with original Stock.
Anyone else had this problem? Haven't had the opportunity to try with any other bluetooth device in case it's the plantronics that's the problem. Is there an app that can keep the connection alive even when I get calls?
I am suspecting that this might be a hardware problem but hope is the last thing that leaves us
Seems to be a lot of bluetooth-problems for the S3 if you look at the search-results but my particular problem don't seem to be mentioned what I've seen.
Thanks in advance.

Galaxy S3 headphone issues

Hi everybody,
I just got into the world of roms and customs OS, so it made me decide to flash my old S3 I9300 so that i can use it as new as it was.
The real problem is :
even with the non rooted stock firmware, i just find something weird.
first time i restarted my phone after 2 years, i tried to plug in my headphone the notification icon, stayed for just some seconds then it just disappeared and when i tried to plug it in again no more notification icon on the status bar,
after that the issues i have are :
- when i call somebody that person will not hear my voice but have a long beep sound
- but when i try with facebook, skype or line it is working well
- music have no issues
- no notification icon when the headset are plugged in
P.S : i use iphone 5 headsets
even runing cyanogen 12.1 v 7.1 i have the same issues,
Compatability problems is the problem. Buy a headphone designed for all devices, not just Apple. Apple always makes special tweaks to everything they have (for better performance with devices from Apple too), so there may be problems when interacting with devices which is not from their kin.
ok, i will try this right away, thanks for the tip bro

I tried with other samsung earphones, still have the same problems,
changed the headjack part today and still have the same problem
i worked once when i turn off wifi, is it possible that there is conflict between those 2?
Well its probably something with hardware, it might be your audio chip or something. Anyway I'm not really good at hardware so I suggest you ask someone else
i will try to find a solution to that issue, i think the best for now is using a bluetooth headset :/
