So I have a Galaxy S3 running Omega v35.
The thing that I wanted to know was,
Does wiping the device affect the battery/performance of the device in any way?
I have been using this ROM since v21. I haven't wiped it even once.
Will it affect the battery or the performance of the phone in any way?
If yes please explain
Thanks.

Battery - no.
Performance - potentially. You may have random bit's of old installs hanging round that may or may not be conflicting with what you have now. What makes you ask? Have you got any performance issue?

Not performance issues.
Lags and stutters some times.
Battery performance feels a little low though.
Thanks for the reply.

Different roms and kernels yield different results for different people. Someone may get amazing battery life on one ROM, but you may not. That's why it's recommended to try a bunch out and see how your phone behaves after a couple of days of use. Viper4g + Enoch kernel is the winning combo for me in terms of battery life. Someone else may have different results though.

You gotta give us more info man.
Basic power saving tips still apply, I would suggest starting with them
based on the info supplied flash back to complete stock and test that.
if you have good battery life it was the rom you flashed. If not its a device issue.
Phone: Galaxy S3 (international)
ROM: cm10.1-20130711-Experiental -i9300-MEMCPY
Kernel: 3.0.64-CM-gf79dbef
I had phone-freeze problems on stock ROM so installed CyanogenMod to see if the problem would be fixed.
Love the ROM but the problem persists and now the battery drains really fast. With very little use, by noon it is depleted. Some strange looking battery profiles attached for reference.
Would love to fix this, don't see exact problem described in other threads, any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers, Greg
Have you read the "Ultimate unusual freezing thread" in general? If not, that's your first stop.
Yes, I read that and ran the Dummy File Generator, ironically the phone freezes each time and cannot get through the cycle (16GB). I saw that Chrome and/or swiftkey might be the problem so I'll uninstalling these. I'm doubtful though as these both worked fine when I first got the phone.
Try using better battery stats to help detect if there's anything funny draining your battery, specially wakelocks.
I'd worry more about the freezing than high battery drain, which is fairly normal on CM.
If the freezing still happens on a fresh install of the latest stock rom then I'd suspect motherboard failure -warranty repair required.
Usually screen uses most of the battery but in your case its Android os , I suggest you try some kernels like siyaah or googy max and configure sTweaks to get better battery life

Its supposed to freeze. You're supposed to leave it and let it unfreeze itself. Could take an hour.

Status report: after an unsuccessful attempt to flash a new kernel I reverted to stock rom. phone-freeze and battery-drain problems are gone.
After trying android 4.2.x, I like it and want to get it back without the above problems. I've read that cyanogen mods are battery hungry, but is this also true for other roms on which they use cm as a basis, eg. paranoid android?
cheers for above comments.
Greg
Paranoid Android variants are hungrier than cm IMHO

Exactly the same
I exactly got the same here. My phone freezes sometimes on a Samsung based Rom. So I tried a lot of different CM and AOPK Roms and kernels.
On a Samsung Rom the battery is quite good (well not as good as others report but 2h Screen On are always achieved) but on all CM Roms I got a huge battery drain. Android OS is causing it. But by looking into BetterBatteryStates nothing is unusual. It looks like on a Samsung Rom.
Any help? WiFi, Bluetooth are always off. Sync: push: one email account, 2 accounts one an hour

Use GPS when needed . if u got stweaks , set as : UV -75mv . dual core mode + max_CPU = 1200 MHz should give decent battery life .

Well actually GPS is turned off. I UVed already wich gave me 30 minutes more.
Using Dual Core Mode and max frequency to 1200MHz made, that the battery drain got heavier

Well there are GPU tweaks as well which I'm not familiar with but people report better battery life. Personally I get through the day with above setting may it be aosp/sammy. BTW I suggest UV because it deals with avoiding heating it doesn't affect battery performance

Well actually the problem is that the battery behavior is just strange. On Samsung it's ok but the phone's freezing.
On CM it isn't freezing but the battery life is quite poor. The phone doesn't get hot, BBS is just normal. Who knows what causes this. I think a bad chip or what?

Bad chip , I don't want to scare you or anything but yes that's a possibility. Refer freezing threads they've got some info . personally I'd flash full stock firmware and test it a whole day before concluding anything

Hey,
Am I the only one who when I flash any of the CM 13s I get a very sluggish performance (after a few hours-days).
Anyone know why? Will it be fixed?
Cheers, Matt

Yes. I ran pure cm13. It was awesome both with stock and Blu spark kernel. And I have an absolute zero tolerance for lag.
Not to forget the battery drops on wifi... I was frustrated by the battery drops and switched back to stock and blu spark kernel.
I am loving AICP. Best ROM i have tried so far. These guys just seem to "get it" how I like my phone.

For the wifi drain you just have to disable Wifi scanning in Location settings. It's a marshmallow bug

I too have this problem. I have tried CM13, Temasek's CM13, RR, Purity and all of them began after few days with micro lag and stuttering. Although what is strange to me when is when I was testing scrolling (for example news feed in facebook app) the performance was perfect, without any issue. Maybe we do something wrong with flashing or something... (I usually wipe everything, even internal storage...)
Hope someone will find a solution

I experience micro-lags on stock rom too. Sure its rare but it happens, and I am not gaming or doing anything demanding.

Hi, guys
I'm having a problem with my S6 edge(g925f), its keep rebooting randomly, I tried a couple of different things:
-installing the latest software with Odin
-Installing a NobbleROM
-Hacker kernel and decreasing the a53 to 900mhz
nothing really helped me...
Can someone of you suggest me a different solution?
p.s I don't have a warranty
Thank you in advanced!

I had the same problem on my s6 edge and note 4. And to be honest the only thing that fixed it for me was replacing the batteries. It's not exactly cheap to replace the s6 battery but it did stop the reboots. Just a suggestion. Are you rooted or do you have warranty?

Ahh I was going to suggest a custom ROM but I see you have tried already noble ROM.
Have you tried stock firmware with full wipe data and cache? To rule out if it's an app causing the reboots?
Also you can try to disable auto optimization for all apps in battery settings, I've read numerous times on here that it helps.
Also you can try with greenify and Lspeed from plays store. Both need root but there are settings to tweak within Lspeed which helps.
I've been using Greenify for some time with pleasure but not sure I'm doing it efficiently and my device and OS is getting and getting old every day and although I used a heavily debloated version of stock ROM (Simpl ROM) my battery seems to lack of performance lately. So I need a real deal instruction to get maximum efficiency since I don't want to change my phone. I'd really appreciate any help for fine tuning in Greenify.
Not: Note 4 with stock-based 6.0.1 Simpl ROM and Rooted with SuperSU. Also, I installed Space Lemon kernel.

Everything gets old and dies including the battery in your device. Greenify will not save you from that fate. Nor will it substantially improve battery endurance on Android 6+ assuming your app portfolio is well behaved. Make sure 'doze on the go' is enabled in Greenify. The remaining knobs and dials will only yield minor benefits.

Of course; missed the point. . Seriously consider a new battery which is both economical and easy to install on your device. Greenify is not the answer in the absence of clear indication of app misbehavor.

After market batteries are often not fresh and/or do not meet OEM specs. You should understand what is draining the battery before pursuing a replacement if a recent change made little/no difference. There are numerous XDA threads dedicated to this subject.

I had changed the battery twice during my usage period but I always bought it from the official Samsung service store. However, I decided to decrease the number of apps installed on my phone. After that, I try battery life again.
