Here is what I did:
1. Installed the Sixaxis Controller app, opened it, and found the local bluetooth adress on the bottom-left of the screen.
2. Downloaded and installed Motionjoy Gamepad Tool on my computer.
3. Connected my ps3 controller to my computer using USB, and clicked "BluetoothPair", then "Custom MAC" on Motionjoy.
4. Entered my prime's bluetooth adress, and clicked "Pair Now".
5. Removed the usb cable and went back to my prime and changed input method to "Sixaxis Controller".
6. Clicked "start" and waited for it to say "Successfully Configered Bluetooth" on the sixaxis app.
7. Pressed the home botton on my ps3 controller and voila, it's connected!

Ok. When you connect the ps3 controller to the computer and open Motionjoy and click BluetoothPair, does it say "Have paired to:" then the bluetooth adress next to it? Since it does say "Client Connected" once, then I think you got the setup right though.
Did you try to connect the ps3 controller to the prime using USB and pressing the home botton? Are you able to use the controller with USB? If that works, then I would try sixaxis again and make sure wifi is turned off. If it still disconnects, then I would try connecting another bluetooth device to the prime, to check if that is the problem. Also, if you haven't, try to reboot. If it still doesn't work, then you might have to use the USB cable.

some one how can help PLS ?
WTF ;( ?
Try this and tell me if it works:
1. Plug controller in with USB port connected.
2. Play around with it to make sure it works for a bit.
3. Push the Playstation button and unplug it from the USB at the same time.
Weird, but it works for me, lol.
If you bought a cheap ps3 controller off ebay it might be the problem, yes. It should be super easy you see, so there might be something wrong with the controller. I'm assuming you don't have the dock, so you are not able to test if it works on the prime using usb?
When you are pairing it, this is how it should look like:
I don't have Sixaxis installed, it's unrooted, and it works fine with bluetooth. I don't know why you're going through the trouble of using Sixaxis at all.

Tried 7 times, doesn't work for me when I turn off bluetooth. If it works for some with it off, then it's just a glitch probably.
I'm guessing it's a glitch, they fixed it in the update that I got I bet. Now it shows up in the actual bluetooth controllers in bluetooth settings, Woot! It caused reboots and i'm sure it was linked to that.
You conecct it without an app? If i want to pair manual it dont works .i have to do any settings in sixaxis ? Profil or anything?

ok, first i had to wat da hell?
The knockoff PS3 controllers like the one you got from ebay DO NOT WORK. i learned that the hard way too. Something with how they authenticate, it works for a PS3 but barely, i can connect it to my computer and use it as a controller for that, but for sixaxis controller on my tablet, no way.
Spend the money, buy a real controller. Used game places, pawn shops, i found one with the old packaging at my local TheSource store (TheSource.ca) for like, 15% off. I bought it, it works awesome.
As far as apps go, sixaxis controller is the way to go. Pay the couple of bucks, its worth it. Actively updated, new features seemingly every other week. just do it. you wont be sorry.
As far as getting the controller to connect:
Get this app:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller&hl=en
Go to here and download the sixaxis pair tool:
http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxiscontroller/tool.html
Other apps can do the same thing, i have used the one in the screenshots previous, however it reverses the mac address. Just use the one i linked, it works with no hassle.
Plug in sixaxis controller to your computer, use the tool to change the mac address.
Start the app on your tablet, it will turn off bluetooth if its on so no need to worry about that. start your sixaxis controller, it should connect pretty much no problem (as long as its genuine, if its a knockoff good luck)
The latest version of the app has a USB pair ability, you can connect your controller via USB and that, for whatever reason, worked on my knockoff controller. weird.
Hope this helps, i know its not the news your looking for. As of yet i cant find anything to get my cheap controller connected, aparently it uses nonstandard meathods for connecting to the PS3 so theres no definate way to make it work 100%.
Thanks for that i buy one and test it later.
I have to change the controller settings game by game ? Also for GTA one and other for shadowgun? Do you can send me your settings if i need it.
Thanks guys for your help

but not vibrat. can i change that
Hi there!
Very new to this but have a quick query.
I'm in NZ. Have updated to ICS. Want to pair PS3 controller WITHOUT Root. Have a theory. So did the following.
- Bought the PS3 Controller Pairing Tool and USB/BT Joystick Center 6 from App Developer POKE64738
- He says that these appas can work on ANY android phone
- Had no luck finding a cable to connect the controller to the phone until I saw a "New USB 2.0 Mini-A 5-Pin Female to Micro-B Male Adapter F/M Data Cable Converter" on ebay.
- By theory, the "Pairing tool" on the phone should pick this up.
Any feedback from you guys!?
Shot fullahs!

Apparently trying to pair a PS3 controller to the Xperia S is a mish and that a 3rd party controller will be just as good! But the problem is I want to go Bluetooth and not play through USB (though I wouldn't mind it) So yeah bro's... will letchu know how it all shakes out!
At least I know that OTG works!
Kia ora!
There you go !

Guys you don't need a cable. Check this out : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23749189#post23749189
And here's how to configure your PS3 sixaxiss controller : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBcO_Gt0fd4
If you feel I've helped you, use the thanks button :victory:
He said without root, so he needs the cable. I thought that if you connect the controller with cable it stays paired via bluetooth

But that's only WITH root. B3NZ0 wanted to pair PS3 controller WITHOUT Root.
That's a big difference you know.
I'm also looking for a way to connect my PS3 controller to my phone even if it's with a cable, but it seems an app is required as it gives me a power error otherwise, if I connect the controller only with the USB OTG.
The only way it will work via usb is by using livedock

UPDATE!
Hey guys!
So the OTG works. That's fine. You just cant plug in the PS3 controller directly otherwise the phone come up with that "power consumption error" and more importantly THERE'S NO POWER CHARGE TO YOUR PHONE!
FIX 1:
You have to use a USB hub (4-port works fine/unbranded) for the error to go away. I've plugged in the PS3 controller with it's original cable and it works fine. You just need to remap the button config in the settings of your chosen emulator. You can also plug in your BT adaptors for your wireless mouse and keyboard. But then there's the power issue, so you'll also need a USB 2.0 at both ends to plug into hub and charger.
NOTE: *ID RATHER NOT DO THIS METHOD BUT IT WORKS.
FIX 2:
Cleverly enough, this V-TYPE OTG cable (USB 2.0 Female/Micro USB Male/Micro USB Female) is the way to go. Simultaneously gives charge and can connect hub, flash drives, BT adapters... You can find this on Ebay. Just enter Micro usb OTG with power.
BT ADAPTER:
I've purchased a Belkin BT Adapter (2.1+ EDR) to go wireless. So first, I tried it on MotionInJoy. Paired it and works fine! But it doesn't work when I plug into the USB hub. Apparently cos it's not CSR compatible... but it is. So will have to fiddle around with it more.
KIDIGI CRADLE:
Ive also purchased this cradle by Kidigi. It works fine and charges. Doesn't quite sit in there but you won't notice after a while and looks great! However, the rear only has the micro usb female port (for charging and data transfers) and lacks the support of an ac power input (for charging) and 2 usb 2.0 ports (for BT mouse/keyboard/ps3 controller?). You can google this or go driectly to kidigi dot com or facebook.
I've spoken with them and sent them a pic of the Xperia Ion cradle/dock (which has the mentioned features) hoping they can mimic the rear of the Ion's dock onto the NEW Kidigi Xperia S Dock 2.0!
If they actually DO MAKE THIS, then our problems would be solved! Why?
1) Nice and sleek
2) The ability to power cradle with AC adapter so no power issues
3) The addition of 2x USB 2.0 ports will allow access for our wireless peripherals (mouse/keyboard), flash drives and would no longer need an OTG as the profile would be built into it which would be good news for us users wanting to pair the PS3 controller
3RD PARTY APPS (for pairing):
To pair with an UNROOTED phone these apps would be the most suitable:
1) PS3 Controller Pairing Tool by Poke64738:
Pretty straight forward. You NEED a USB hub to do this cos of PCE (Power Consumption Error). It will ask you to turn on Bluetooth. Say yes. Then hit search. If the app can't locate it then reset the PS3 controller by pressing the rest button at the back of the controller. NOTE: This app ONLY pairs the controller to the phone!
2) USB/BT Joystick Center 6 by Poke64738:
This app is tricky so it takes time to find out how to use it. The help menu is useful so don't neglect it. After figuring it out, you must do the following:
FOR USB POWERED:
- Plug in PS3 controller with cable into HUB.
- Open USB/BT Joystick Center 6
- Window will pop-up asking to allow app to access USB device. Click OK. (note the device name in grey on the top-middle of the screen)
- Your device should show up as "PS3 USB Controller (1)"
- Touch to access the drivers.
- Test controller by pressing all the buttons. You'll notice the "buttons" in the driver slot will go red. These buttons are your default configs. You don't have to change anything just hit BACK button NOT HOME button! Hitting BACK will save the settings.
FOR WIRELESS:
I've yet to do this so will post up when I have something!
***APOLOGIES AS I CANT POST LINKS YET BUT YOU CAN GOOGLE SEARCH AND EBAY SEARCH ASWELL***

You can also possibly use the Kidigi Cradle with a Micro USB OTG with power.
Its a V cable or Y cable allowing for power charge and USB hub and PS3 Controller connected via USB

USB hub will work for ya but then again some drain and some don't! and because there are so many out there, who knows... but I have a third-party one made for the PS3 console itself and it works fine. If you want to know what i'm getting up to, check out my UPDATE reply no.3 (it's not numbered though, lol)

UPDATE #3
Hey guys!
So i've finally got the peripherals I need to do the following:
1) Pair my PS3 controller to my Xperia S successfully
2) Find an alternate power source
PAIRING:
After using the 3rd party app with a little bit of patience and persistence and a BT dongle, I have finally paired it! ABOUT TIME TOO! So now I can play my MAME games wirelessly! WOOHOO! :good: I will post up pics or vid tutorial for those who want it.
POWER SOURCE:
I have a V cable (mentioned in previous posts) that acts both as a OTG and charger (USB 2.0 female (flash drives etc) /micro USB male (OTG) /micro USB female (charge) Unfortunately, I think mine is a dud. There is no charge going through so will see what I can do.
UPDATE #4
Hey guys!
Just a reminder that this whole topic is for UNROOTED phones only. Since there is lack of support for UNROOTED phones on this very topic, I thought it would be nice if I stepped in to aid our fellow XPERIA S users out there in the world. I'm still unable to post links and pics so might put something on my facebook page if that helps.
Otherwise, i'll PUSH - post until something happens lol
LIVE wallpaper concept
Since we're on the topic of PS3, I thought to share this. My Desktop on my PC. The blue wave in the background is still but was animated to act like that of the PS3 wave. I was thinking to make some LIVE wallpaper based on the OS3 wave for Xperia phones and tablets. As you see, it has a more fluid-like texture to it rather than the flowy-movement type of the PS3 console.
I have a two week old unrooted red 300 on 4.1.1 with dock, I already had a ps3 with controllers so my controller was previously paired with ps3 ( which may be the problem). As long as I have it connected via usb to my dock it works fine, but when I disconnect the controller shuts off. I see on youtube people just connect via usb, disconnect the usb and viola, playing bluetooth but mine is not working, is there any steps or apps that I need to have before I can play wirelessly. oh and yes my bluetooth is on lol.

There shouldn't be anything special you need to do. Plug in the USB, with bluetooth on, hit the PS3 button to turn the controller on and the Bluetooth should connect with it. Double-check in the Bluetooth devices that it shows a PS3 Controller listed in the paired devices after performing the above steps.
When you disconnect the USB cable it should disconnect and turn off the controller. Just hit the PS3 button again and the lights should indicate a flash showing it's on and then switch to connected at controller 1 and the bluetooth devices will show connected in the ASUS settings.

Hello all,
I am currently trying to connect my wired Xbox 360 Controller to my Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro. I am using a USB-A female to Micro-USB OTG cable, with a female Micro-USB to USB-C converter for my Huawei's input jack. The Xbox 360 Controller plugs directly into the female USB side of the OTG cable. Like the YouTube videos suggest, you are supposed to simply connect the controller, and it will work. However, in my case, the controller will be supplied power, but not detected. When I scroll down to see notifications, it shows that power is being supplied to a USB device. When I clicked the touch for more options button, reverse charging was selected, and clicking any other option would bring it back to reverse charging. No app was detecting any movement of the controller, and the "Easy OTG Checker" app that I found in the app store detected it as Unknown. I then went to settings, but the USB section of the Device Connections tab was grayed out, and showed the text "Disconnected." After doing some research, I tried to fix the problem by turning on USB Debugging in the developer tools section(I had to turn on "Allow ADB Debugging in charge mode only" to do so), but it still wasn't detected, and the USB tab was still the grayed out and "Disconnected." I also tried connecting the controller in the Huawei's "Safe Mode", in case some app or security system wasn't allowing it. This didn't work either. Nobody else I've found on the internet has this same issue. Any Ideas how to fix this?
Thanks!
Extra Info:
Android Version - 8.0.0
The Xbox controller had a loose cable once, but this was mostly fixed with a cable patch, only leaving one button to be faulty every once in a while. Worked fine though on my computer.
Dang this forum isn't responsive at all XD
I have the same issue, you are not alone. Its a while ago that i tried to find a solution but didnt...
Well, I was trying to use OTG on this tablet, keyboard and mouse works great connecting via USB with a Type-C adapter.
But when connecting a Logitech controller it receives power (I can turn mode on/off and the light goes on/off) but the tablet doesn't recognize, for example when I go to the Stadia app nothing appears as connected, but on my OnePlus phones works fine.
I was searching and it may be a problems with permissions, is a root really necessary and is it even worth it? What do you think?
Hi Jota, did you ever figure out the Logitech and also does this model have otg video out to HDMI cable? Trying to confirm that feature before I buy it. many thanks!
