Hello All
I installed CM10 according to the instructions provided. However I have the following problems:
1. Even though my sd card is empty (formatted it), the camera says "SD card full"
2. Google Listen will not download any new episodes. Error message is ""/sdcard/com.google.android.apps.listen/downloads" "open failed: EACCESS (Permission denied)"
I tried to boot to recover, and under advanced tried "fix permissions". No luck. IT just stits there with "Fixing permissions" and nothing happens.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

This could be a few things, so just try to troubleshoot it one problem at a time
You said you formatted your sd card recently? Did you recently do anything else? Can you put anything else on your sd card (apps, music)?Double check to make it's "mounted" and then see if that does anything. Then double check if you can access your sd card through a file manager like Astro and see if you get any error messages.
It seems like for whatever reason it is not reading/seeing you sd card correctly. If all else fails I'd unmount the sd card, take it out of phone, put back in phone, mount, then format, then reboot. Then see if you can put anything on it.
Also just re-read your post, I believe CM10 has problems utilizing the sd card. I know there have been issues putting apps on the sd card in the past. I read that CM10 might be updated tonight, maybe that will be fixed. You could also post this is the CM10 thread and see if anyone had the same problem.
You can also check to make sure that your phone is "looking" for the sd card in the correct place. Specifically I'd find out where your phone is trying to save the pictures, maybe there was a mix-up when flashing. In CM10, the external sd card is /storage/sdcard1 and the internal sd card is /storage/sdcard0.
Wifi does not work with CM10
Thanks for the reply. I tried to use the updated CM10 (cm10-20130112)
PROBLEM: my wifi cannot be turned on.
(I did not install the wifi patch since I have the Droid X2 and not the milestone)

wifi is broken on new build, DK is working on it
There's a work around though by pulling the file from alpha 2 and dropping it in 2.999.... zip
DZK
" I need you guys to check if there is a file named dhd.ko in /system/lib/modules"
"That would be why. I'll get to it tonight. The old builds will have that in the same location. If you put that file there it'll work again. But I'll get to work on this. Or maybe even just release the actually new build I'm running right now instead of trying to fix a build from October."
Here's a link to the file thanks to

"Getting ready to test if adding the module to the zip before flash helps. SBFing now.

I am rooting my daughters Droid Eris. I used the app from the market and flashed Cyanogen 7. Everything went well until I tried to start restoring her apps and found that the phone is saying there is no sd card. When I go into setting to mount it it is greyed out and wont do anything. the gallery and rom manager also say there is no sd card. the card I am using is not partitioned. I tried taking a partitioned sd out of my old Cliq and putting it in and then it says it has a unsupported system or something like that but I did notice that the mount sd in settings was no longer greyed out. If I reboot into recovery it will recognize the card because it lists what is on it. I have searched everything I can find and cant find any answers. Oh, also, when I plug in the usb to the computer it does nothing then either. Any Ideas??
Go into recovery since her phone can read the card from there and reformat the card. You may also want to wipe data and dalvik and reflash the rom to be on the safe side.
Make sure that you backup anything currently on the SD card before formatting it, which you can do from the usb-ms toggle option in recovery. You will need to copy the rom file back to the phone after formatting the card which can be done from this option as well.
There should be an android.secured folder on the SD card. Delete that. You don't want it on there so make sure you don't copy it back to the card (it will come back after the first boot and it can then be left alone, I like to delete mine before each flash though to avoid possible problems.)
EDIT - DONT FORGET TO FLASH GAPPS RIGHT AFTER FLASH THE ROM! ALL CM7 ROMS REQUIRE THIS!
Let me know if you have any problems

Totally of the topic BUT I'm Selling a fully rooted Droid Eris running CM7 port ROM for $90...interested PM me.
I just purchased a new 16gb SD card and have been using an old 8gb that I had from a previous phone since my original 16gb broke in half. At the time of it breaking I was on cm7 7/13 build and otb .13 kernal for cm7. I copied all the files that I had backed up from the old SD and pasted them onto the new 8gb while adding the latest cm7 build and glitch kernals. I just booted into recovery to try and flash these items and it is telling me that there is an error mounting the SD card and under mounts it will not work when I try to mount either. I don't know why this is because all the files on the card are viewable from the regular phone interface and it says that the card is mounted. I just can't enter the "choose zip from SD card" menu in cwm. any idea as to why this is or how I can remedy it?
thanks in advance.

same problem with "cannot mound SD card" in CWM, though I used this same SD card to update to the CM7 7/13 release, but now cannot update to the newest one.. please help!
NEVER worked with COMROM before....HOWEVER
Just like a computer (in a way) your phone saves certain things like how to operate or run on this phone.
Here's my suggestion
Put your mem card in (make sure everything is backed up still) and start the phone NORMAL not in CWM, as you said it reads it just fine so go into:
Settings> Storage
Here hit "Erase SD Card" if it's unavailable just unmount, then proceed
Once you have completed this, put ONLY the .zip files you need back onto the card, via computer...or high speed usb cable, whatever you want but just add the files you absolutly want to do.
Go into CWM and try again....
If it works then go back and only bring onto your card files/pics/vids you ABSOLUTLY want and leave the extra stuff off (meaning maybe one single file on the card is giving the phone a bad taste so the phone is rejecting it.)
Let me know how it goes!
Best of Luck!
Used SD Formatter on my PC, put back the files I backed up onto the SD card, and was able to flash newest CM7! Thanks!
thanks for the info... but sadly my dinc. 2 is set to be delivered tomorrow as I am having the missed call issue quite frequently. Problem after preparing to boot from sd
Albert!
Thanks for posting so much info online.
Since I have no been following the process since the experimental phase, I'm sort of lost here.
I have used gparted, created the partition, unzipped and put the files from your link into my sd cards root directory. I followed along with your video.
Your post says this works with 1.4.0 and 1.4.1, so did I miss the part where it mentions that you need to revert to 1.4.0 from 1.4.1(which i am running). Or is this sd card with the boot images supposed to work regardless and one is to revert after rooting?
I reformatted my sd card a few times. I do not place it in the nook until it is powered down. Unfortunately once the card is in my nook will not power on.
Do i need to install drivers for the nook tablet, and if so which ones and then power on while connected?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated!
Denis
This process is so finicky that I need u to list every step u are doing for me to help u troubleshoot. One wrong step or wrong connection and u have to start over. Even after the card is created.
Did u set flags correct? Did u use alternative way of connecting SD card for format? Did u put in off tablet that is not connected by USB? Was tablet stock when u tried it?
So many different ways to screw this up...

Try remaking the card and using the USB cable to turn it on instead of the power button.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda premium
Another thing to try.
Remove SD card
Turn on
Turn off
Hold power and n button at same time until turns on and off
Let go power and n button
Now put in SD card
Turn on. See if cwm boot
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda premium
I've actually had to tinker with it a bit and I've found that if you hold pwr + n and let it try to boot into CWM it won't get past the black N.
Then you do the same thing and when the black N comes up just let go of the power button while still holding the N button and it should boot into CWM.
Hey sorry for the delay and thanks for the suggestions already.
I used a stock NT running 1.4.1.
Next i used my computers sdmicro reader to create the partition using gparted, boot and lba flags checked.
I did not have the NT on when the sd card was inserted.
So with NT off I inserted SD card with files in root directory from your finalized post.
From here the NT will not boot.
I will try the various suggestions and report back.
Do you think that the card is corrupted at this point even if the NT was not on and so far that is the only time it has been inserted? (NT off, hit power, no response, sd card removed.)
Thanks for your time, and a donation is coming your way and to everyone else involved with the files tomorrow, because its payday!

So I tried to hold both power and n button, no boot, in fact the n doesn't even appear.
If I try to boot from usb, should i have the stock drivers installed or are there specific ones i missed?
Thanks in advance

Would Factory Resetting my NT work?
I just reformatted my sd card, retransferred files from your post, and factory reset my tablet.
Similar Booting Challenges
I'm having the same problem as drimbaut.
The SD Card will not boot for me. My NT might be the culpret. Originally I rooted the tab using Zergy from 14.0 then had an the OTA update wipe that out and force 14.1. Revered back to 14.0 re-zergy'd - showing 9.9.9, worked great for about a week then I powered off and market disappeared as well as any Google app.
9.9.9 stilled showed as the NT version, B&N was the only home screen.
After recovering to 14.0 - the Zergy process works until DeBloat and when I make a selection the NT reboots and leaves the NT in a kind of root limbo. Re-run Zergy at that point, it tells me I'm already rooted. I load apps, but upon powering off.. my Apps start disappearing, and my Home screen reverts back to B&N. My NT version still shows 14.0.
Am I just hosed? My hope was that the SD card would bypass all of this, but I've reverted back to 14.0, and the NT doesn't boot from the SD Card.

Sorry for the long post
Changed out files, Instructions and Video. Now Version 4. I swear Version 3 worked and I videotaped the hell out of it, but even I could not replicate it the next day. I guess the stars were aligned right or something. Very clear instructions, should have no problems with this. Works perfect, every time.
Thanks in advance!
I will follow your new vid/instructions and report back!

Great news!
The process was successful!
I reformatted my sd card using my computers card reader and gparted.
Added the new V4 files as instructed. Only difference between my method and yours was making the whole card a partition as in the previous vid.
Once I wrote the image with windisk something strange happened where my card said it had to be reformatted via computer.
Since the files had to be deleted I figured might as well forge ahead and see what happens.
I added the AWNTrootV4 files to the card and ejected.
Put the card in the nook running 1.4.1 and held power and n button and voila it booted CWM all the files were present and i installed both zips.
Strangely after the install in ES file explorer I had no access to the SD,
I popped the card out and in, and got a message saying my card needed to be formatted again by the nook, so i did it.
After this accessed the files with file explorer and noticed that just the BN file and lostdir file were present
so leaving the tablet on i popped out the card and recopied them over leaving the 1stindirect.zip and albertw.zip files off.
I popped the card back in and it read the sd card and all the apps installed fine.
Also i flashed cwm to the tab with nook tab recovery.
AS of right now I believe i have a successful root on my hands from 1.4.1 without a pc-usb boot.
One more question. OTA update blocker should be installed at this point correct, so that I can avoid auto updates?
Thanks a million, as soon as my girl gets home with the bank card I'll be donating for your help
I've managed to get totally lost.
I just want to get CWM on an SD card & do an img backup. Not looking to flash anymore than CWM at the moment.
There is so much going on in Indirect's thread my brain is locked up.
Could someone please get me pointed & unfrozen? Nook is OK, just my brain is frozen.
My post sorts all that crap out in one easy download and even a video to install from. I am lost on where you are lost
I'll search for your post & video.
Swyped from my rooted BNTV250 using Tapatalk
No need to search. Link in original. Post
I must have missed it..
I missed one item on your video - that being where, and at what step did you install the *.apk which shows the nook tablet hidden settings. Since the NT is not rooted I don't have those files on the NT from your Albert App update.zip.
Thanks,
Ffej
Well I got CWM onto my SD card and successfully booted. Now to sort out how to create a Nook Tablet image backup & where to put it.
Maybe tomorrow.
[Q] "Cannot finish download. There is not enough space." Error Message - CM7
So I rooted the Nook a while back with the SD card, but finally decided to put on CM7 using the internal method, since the largest SD card I have is 2GB.
My device is not letting me download anything and I get the error "Cannot finish the download. There is not enough space". Even if I want to download something that is just a few KBs.
I've tried changing the download directory on Dolphin Browser, but it makes me download to the SDCard directory.
Also, when I plug the Nook into my computer via USB, I see "Boot: (H", but I don't see the SD Card, which I believe I used to.
I put the micro-SD card back into the adapter and into my computer, it says I have 69.4 MB of used space, and 0 bytes of free space. This is a 2GB card.
If I try to transfer a file from my laptop to the internal storage via USB, it tells me I do not have enough space as well (even though the file is only 1MB).
I'd really appreciate any help, also it's my understanding that I need to download GAPPS in order to get the google play market working.. correct?
are u in windoze 7 and forgot to run as administrator ?
in file explorer, if you right click on the sd card, what does it say about it ?
I'm on Vista...
I guess I am confused about what you are asking. Here is what the general properties say:
SD: Boot
Filesystem: FAT 32
Used Space: 69.4 MB
Free Space: 0 MB
Capacity: 69.4 MB
( i do not own vista... i'm still running xp . . . lol ) um, it sounds like you have only r/o ( read-only ) privileges to that device.

That seemed very likely, but I was actually able to delete some photos that were on the SD card that I had before, and was able to put another one on there. When I try to load it on the nook, I get the error "The android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.".
I click "Force Close" and it keeps popping up repeatedly. It also shows then whenever I try to download anything.

one of my favorite rules is : 'when in doubt, wipe it out' ! . some try this. . copy all your stuff off the sd and park it temporarily on a hard disk sub-dir. . then use a good utility to refresh the device ( sdformatter ? ). . then try the sd in the android again.
.
um, ( a lite bulb goes on above my head ), you believe you gotta a glitch in the android and your sd card is fine . . . wow, that could be very true.
.
so 'android.process.media' is broken... ugg. . this is where i heard you have to re-flash ( with wiping data and cache ) to fix...

I will try that. Just seems odd it only started happening once I installed CM7.
Might be too simple but when downloads have failed for me with the message you mentioned I have completely powered down my Nook, waited a few minutes, then restarted it. It cleared up the 'not enough space' problem. Doesn't solve your SD card problem, but might resolve your failed downloads.
Got the same message initially....downloading using XP.....you didn't unzip the folder downloaded first so you are trying to download compresses boot.img file (I think that's what happenned, although it sounds counter intuitive). Anyway instead of left clicking directly on downloaded folder to open (which contains only one file...boot.img) unzip the folder first.....right click unzip...save outside of original downloaded folder. Now you have it! Use that file.
Hope I'm recalling this correctly, it was a few days ago! Give it a whirl.

android memory error
I was receiving this same "low memory" error message on my phone and found a simple and easy app on the market called simply enough "Market Fix". It is free and with the touch of one button, fixed all my market issues. Don't know how it works but it saved me alot of frustration. I don't see why it would work for the nook tablet as well. It's worth a shot before wiping.
re: not enough space error
Saw in development thread that there was a limit placed on number of downloads of CM7 permitted which was met...but developer has resolved that issue. Other people were having trouble downloading the ROM but don't know if this was the error message they got.
Perhaps this was the source of your problem in downloading ROM rather than my explanation above?
CHeck last few pages of CM7 thread where you got instructions and links for installing ROM.
Hope you get it all worked out.
L
I was getting the same error message. Could not get rid of this error even when I removed a significant portion of my apps. The system info always showed lots of room but the message continued. I think I have blundered on the solution. I have the Nook Tablet which was partitioned and then rooted. Many people have noted that NT comes with Netflix installed and that Google Play continuously wants to updated this app. It seems that if you update Netflix it confuses the system and Netflix is installed on the B&N Partition as well as the portion reserved for other apps. I un-installed Netflix update as well as any apps that come from B&N as well as Google Play so there are not duplicates. Seems to have worked. Worth a try.

Try wiping out dalvik cache either through cwm recovery or titanium backup. I had a similar error while installing apps through sideloading apks and doing the above fixed that problem.

Hi, i got this problem when I enable swap SD to external on my note2.. (Omega V9.1 rom, RedHill V1.0 kernel.). After some search, found that it is because the broswer setting -<Advance>- <Default storage> must change from memory card --> Device (since I had swap ExtSD & SD). With this set, all browser download is running smoothly..

You are aware that this is both a very old thread, and also it's about Nook Tablet ?
I'm sure the problem was solved one way or another, or we would have heard more about it, but FWIW I'm pretty sure that in this case it was caused by CM7 mounting the SD card as internal storage, and all that was needed was restoring the card to it's full capacity (or inserting another card). Like LaveroBurgos suggests.
I recently loaded the Stock Rooted OTA 605.19. It was working fine until a few days ago. Shortly after a reboot, a message pops up saying that the "SD Card doesn't have write permissions." I can't take photos, cache Slacker stations, save files, etc. I rebooted the phone to see if that would fix it...no go. I also have gone in to Recovery and used the "Fix Permissions" option. I reboot and it seems to work...for about 5 mins. I'm not sure if it is the phone, SD Card, or the ROM that is causing the problem.
Got another card you could try to see if it is the ROM? If not, do you have a card reader? power the device down and remove the card. Look to see if it has a write lock tab. If no write lock tab, then use the card reader and copy card content to your computer and see if you can reformat it to FAT32, then copy contents back to card, put back in device, power it up and see if the issue persists.

Thanks. Will try formatting when I get home.
As for the "write lock", there is none. Prior to now, the other time the SD Card was physically accessed wad I got the phone.

Write access on memory cards can also be turned on and off in the properties of it. When you right click it in windows and hit properties there is an option there sometimes.
