Your external storage is mounted at /storage/sdcard1. It is also symlinked as /extSdCard. Hope this helps.

Problem with root on ics

Hi guys, very very sorry for posting here.. but as a new user can't find how to post in the appropriate topic.
So I'm trying to root my galaxy s2. I'm on ics for a while now and I'm trying the method without changing the kernel by Rachmat3. I've transferred the files in sdcard(actually both external (which i formatted first) and internal sd), i rebooted in recovery mode but when i chose apply update from external storage it showed in red that failed because couldn't mount sdcard.. I've read that some others had the same problem but i found no solution... Please any help would be great!!

sdcard disappeared in cm10, HELP please

Hi all, need help with my sdcard not appearing in cm10 ...
I was on the 0815 build and everything was working fine, then i wanted to mount a ntfs drive to my sgs2 via otg cable.. plugged it and got no response, so i thought it must be the fact that the usb is formated in ntfs format... a quick google got me to the app NTFS MOUNTER n i installed it..
After installing it, i notice i still cant access my ntfs usb and so i uninstalled the app.. then i saw that build 0820 is out, so i downloaded it, made cwm backup n installed it... the next morning i noticed tt in my jellybean, my external micro sd does not appear in my gallery or settings-storage.. but when i rebooted to Recovery i can still access the ext sdcard...
Tried to do recovery from a backup i made 0812 but i get the message: ERROR WHILE RESTORING /SYSTEM! message tried other cm10 backups n i keep getting the same message ...
Tried to do clean install (factory reset, install cm10 zip, install gapps, factory wipe) and i still cant access my external sd..
The only way i can my ext sd to work is to restore to my latest cm9 backup... it works just fine, but if i install cm10 afterwards (factory reset, install cm10 zip, install gapps, factory wipe), the ext sd remains invisible to my cm10, be it 0815 or 0820 build..
Tried googling it but cant seem to find any answer w regards to this.. can someone pls help..
Thanks you so very very much!
just download 0821 and give it a try.

If you are talking about normal FAT32 external SD /MicroSD card inserted in your phone, then it is mounted in:
/storage/sdcard1
just use a file manager to access it.
if you can find it there then it will be easier to to find your gallery files
hi all,
thank you for your replies.
But i think you got it wrong, it's not that the media files are not loading in GALLERY or that i cannot find my way in using file explorer apps, but the phone itself seems to not be mounting my sdcard...
Settings -> Storage will only show Internal Storage (1.97 GB) and Internal Storage (11.50 GB)
The Sdcard section is just blank... whileas if i restore to CM9, Sdcard exists (29.32GB) n is accessible from gallery or any file explorer...
HELP
Hmm.... did you try formatting /system from recovery, clean wipe, then flash latest CM10? Might help...

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the help given to me so generously!
Finally figured out the problem...
Current SD card: CM9 can access, CM10 cannot
Tried another SD card: CM9 can access, CM10 can access
So apparently i found out that there was some corrupted data in the /sdcard/clockworkmod/blobs/gc./
with the directory containing 8 files which names contain gibberish ascii symbols and they were simply unerasable and the /gc./ directory itself was unerasable
Backed up the data in the sdcard and formated it and voila! Problem solved!!
Thanks again everyone!
So glad to be back at CM10 and to know that when CM10 is fully polished, i will have no problems using it...

hi, okay so i have almost the identical problem, i believe that i have corrupted files on my external drive (Patriot 16GB, FAT32) because i also have a clockwork mod backup, a data folder for titanium backup, the superuser zip and a LOST.DIR folder.
i would just delete everything or try to format it, but somehow the SD is now recognized as "read only" in any computer and my phone won't recognize it at all, even after trying "remount sd" apps on the phone. Suggestions? Im totally at a loss and dont have the money to spend on a new external.. thank you!! =]

So, do you mean to say that we need to reformat our external SD Card so that CM10 can recognize our external drive?

recover internal memory

I cant seem to find any real solution to this, and deep down I think I know the dreaded answer..
I just flashed my phone to the new JB Rom, Stupidly forgot to do a CWM Backup. It wiped my Internal memory (and for some reason everything has been saving to that the past few months, all my titanium backups, SMS backups, and photos)
Does anyone know of a way to restore this?
Much appreciated if anyone can find a solution
Okay,
I've Just reverted back to ICS, And its still not there. The Flashing process shouldn't have touched my internal Storage so I don't know why its disappeared. When I plug it into the computer it doesn't even show the Internal SD card any more it only shows the external.
The Storage settings says there is only 2GB internal storage. (which is not true the galaxy S2 has 16GB)
I think there my data is safe somewhere, Just getting to it is going to be the issue. I think maybe the partitions have messed up on the block storage.
Can anyone help here?

I don't think anything wiped his internal storage.
I think his backup apps are finding it difficult to locate /storage/sdcard0 and since he just flashed an AOSP ROM, he doesn't even have a file manager to see them his internal storage is mounted

I think the real issue is that Its not mounted the "Internal SD card" properly. I've tried mounting in CWM but still nothing. I think its mounting the wrong Block storage. Maybe I can Remount the correct one via ADB? or recover the files from ADB
ES file explorer shows SDcard as empty
Anyone?

It only shows the files on my external storage. Phone says internal storage is empty / only 2GB (for apps and stuff) Camera wont work because it says I have no internal storage,

Tried all three solutions and none of them worked unfortunatly :/
If I mount USB storage in CWM I can only access my External SD card, it says the internal SD card needs to be formated first.. but I dont want to format it and loose anything, There are no .nomedia files on my external SD. I dont know about the internal as I cant access it. multi mount SD-card lite wouldnt work because I dont have internal SD mounted.

Sorry about that. I didn't tell you to use my tutorial, i told you to follow post 13.
Anyway, the only option you have left will be to format your internal SD from your phone, then use the tutorial in post 13, to recover some files.

[SOLVED] [Q] SD card working but not found by Android

Hi!
Just flashed CM10 onto my SII and that was no problem. But now it seems Android can't detect my SD card, though I can explore it using, for example, Solid Explorer. What could be the problem?
Thanks in advance!
Anyone?

Maybe try format it with Partition mini tool to fat32 and set as active.
[Q] SD card working but not found by Android
Easy ...
Using Root Explorer find a folder emmc.. Its your external sd card
Or simply use SD Card Binder from Play Store
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SD Binder did it! Thanks a lot!
How to mark as solved?

[Q] A Quick Question?

Hey guy i have a problem with my (STORAGE). I am running Cynogenmod 10.2.0 (Version 4.3.1) Flashed through TWRP (Latest Version).
In (STORAGE) there are (4 Folders) named:
- emulated
- sdcard0
- sdcard1
- usbdisk0
In (EMULATED) there are 2 other folders named:
- legacy
- 0
In (SDCARD0) I can see my files but there are no files in (SDCARD1)
In the (LEGACY) folder there are the same files which were in sdcard0.
In the (0) folder there are same files but with a (DOWNLOAD) folder in it.
How can make it simple all like (SDCARD0) like it was in stock rom? Another problem is i cannot move files somtimes via PC or Any File Manager.
The file structure is different for 4.2 onwards. I believed u flashed it from a 4.1.2 rom? Maybe stock? Look at the link. It will describe everything. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274218
