[Q] A Quick Question? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guy i have a problem with my (STORAGE). I am running Cynogenmod 10.2.0 (Version 4.3.1) Flashed through TWRP (Latest Version).
In (STORAGE) there are (4 Folders) named:
- emulated
- sdcard0
- sdcard1
- usbdisk0
In (EMULATED) there are 2 other folders named:
- legacy
- 0
In (SDCARD0) I can see my files but there are no files in (SDCARD1)
In the (LEGACY) folder there are the same files which were in sdcard0.
In the (0) folder there are same files but with a (DOWNLOAD) folder in it.
How can make it simple all like (SDCARD0) like it was in stock rom? Another problem is i cannot move files somtimes via PC or Any File Manager.

The file structure is different for 4.2 onwards. I believed u flashed it from a 4.1.2 rom? Maybe stock? Look at the link. It will describe everything. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274218

Unable to write internal SD?! o_O

Hi all, there's something bothering me for long.
I have a tablet with internal SD (nand one) and an external SD.
Now I can read contents in internal SD but can't write it. I checked up with root explorer, finding the file sysytem is "read only". After toggling it to R/W, the storage can be written by root explorer but still can't by other apps.
Can anyone help me plz? A lot of thanks!
================ EDIT ================
p.s. When connected to PC as massive storage device, it can be read and written.

Because its internal memory of tablet like root memory of android phone..
So you can write it with root explorer only...
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.

thanks but sorry, nah, I'm pretty sure the internal sd is not the root memory. when I download a file, it is meant to be saved in "Download" folder of the internal SD.

The whole SDCARD folder is r/o...
I tried in terminal to mount it as r/w, but writing still fails.
then I tried connecting it to PC and formatting it FAT32... and the formatting failed!
Now i've got a tab without internal SD... guess I have to flash the system again...
Hope there's nothing wrong with the hardware.
Could you please gimme some advice? thanks!

Try a clean install of your ROM. If the problem still exists, try a different ROM. That should determine if its as software/hardware problem.

simple way just make double copy and put into internal and external for both files
that's just the problem ...it will save internally but not to the SD card ..just cant seem to get it to save to the SD card ??? wanted to root my phone using the guide in the link .. but without the busy box .. it wont root. and i cant post on the guys thread as only just joined :crying:
just make another copy of the zip file in your external sd card and move on

[Q] Unable to Delete funny character file in Internal Storage

Hi everyone,
Few days back when I was in Sammy LSJ ROM, I noticed there is a file already created and I am experiencing difficulty to delete this file from the Internal Storage.
Location:
/sdcard/00/01/02/03/
Inside this path, there is a file with weird character name in 0 byte.
I already try to delete that file (also try with the folder 03) from:
>> Root Explorer --> unable to go inside folder 03
>> My Files (comes with the OS) --> only can see one file with 0 byte
>> ES Explorer --> found three files in it, all with 0 byte
None of it allows me to delete it. :crying:
I did try to remove it from Terminal Emulator with command “rm –rf /sdcard/00/01/02/03/” but not successful, since I have limited knowledge on linux command line. You may refer the screenshot that I have attach in here.
My Current OS in SGS2 : WanamLite v14.1 LSD – 4.1.2
Appreciate can someone guide me how to permanently remove it? :fingers-crossed:
Thank you.
Bump.... any help is highly appreciated. :fingers-crossed:
One sure way would be to backup needed data and then format /emmc (internal) or /sdcard (external) via cwm and re-install rom.

Connect your phone to a windows computer via mass transfer mode. Then right click on the internal SD card icon and go to properties and check disk for error. It happened with me. Some bad sector was built up. This process removed those files and my bad sector was also removed. You can also defragment your drive from here. I did mine.
I hope it helps...
Best of luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. :good:
Whenever I connect my phone to PC (USB mass storage), I shall see a pop up windows to perform check disk for the phone (Internal Storage).
So I choose "Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors".
Then I remove the phone and reconnect back, it will prompt the same windows.
Using defragment from PC did not solve the problem as well.
At the end... I managed to solve my problem by formatting the Internal Storage from Windows:
- connect the phone as "USB mass storage"
- select full format from PC on Internal Storage
That's all... now the annoying folder 00 no longer appear.
**I'm not sure format from Windows will damage the partition in Phone's Internal Storage? I rebooted the phone and check again, the storage remain as 11.50GB, I guess should be all fine now.
And you didn't have to torch it after all.
+1

[Q] How to move Fb and whatsapp in SDcard

Hi
Someone plz tell me how to move fb and whatsapp in SDcard. From Manage Application Move to SDcard option is disabled also in App2SD unable to transfer it.
Is it possible????It consumes a lot of space....
For moving apps those do not support to move in SD by default, you need root access on your device & then use any app such as "DroidSail Super App2SD" to move them forcefully to SD card.

Moving facebook on sd card every time you open it, it will erase the data and you will have to repeat the account access.
If you have rooted device, you can use titanium backup to move them to SD.
The app has been moved to SD card, but i am not sure about data stored by these apps.
Data was still in phone memory, i guess.
Second partition not found
Hi Friend,
Thanks for your reply.
I have root the device installed the link2sd app.

Someone senior please tell me the exact step how to resolve this.
Thanks in advanced... :laugh::
Just uninstall stock youtube and download it again, it will be installed in SD.
To move to sd card u need 2 partions in the sd card..first make 2 partions in sd card..

How to do this ?
Easiest way is to use cwm recovery..there is a option partion of sd card click that u will ask about the size, preferabaly give 512mb that it press ok ur sd card partition is over..otherwise use windows minitool partition wizard but u need pc to do it..just google it u will get the procedure to do it.. and one more thing ur sd card content will get erased so backup ur sd card contents to ur pc..

Hit Thanks if I Helped
I reply here because I spent a lot of time searching through very old posts and trying outdated methods. I didn't know that actually today there is a very easy solution to move whatsapp media folder to SD card. It perfectly worked on my Samsung Galaxy A3 A320FL:
1) Root (I used twrp + magisk method)
2) Download "App2SD" (the original by Vicky Bonick; it's free) and follow instructions on how to create partitions
3) Use "folder mount (app analyzer)" feature, which apparently was not considered in the old posts in this forum, so I suppose it was recently added to Apps2SD.
It's like folder mount, but it's pre-set for some common apps, including Whatsapp. With this feature, you can successfully move Whatsapp media folder to SD, in one clic.
In my case everything worked fine. When I reboot I have to re-mount folder, but it takes one second (just open Apps2SD, tap Folder Mount, slide "whatsapp other").

[Q] How does internal card work on I9300

Hello. I was once flashing a new ROM and after it my internal sdcard was wiped. That got me upset but 2 days later i was browsing my /data partition. I remembered that internal SDcard files are stored on /data/media... So i decided to open that and i found all my lost files there... So here comes my question - How does that actually work? How come my files stored on /data/media (sdcard) but dont apear at /storage/emulated/0 or /storage/sdcard0 or /sdcard? ( they all seem like sdcard to me Shouldnt it be the same?) Thanks in advance for any help
