lock screen with s pen - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

When you pull the pen out it unlocks the screen, is it possible to set the screen lock when you return it or anyway for a developer to make this possible?

[Q] Enable Lockscreen Widgets on S3 Without Root

Apologies if this has been posted somewhere else. I've tried searching the forum but it's so vast I've not been able to find an answer.
I have an un-rooted Galaxy S3 which I've just upgraded to Android 4.3. I was hoping to be able to use Dashclock to have lockscreen widgets enabled along with the pattern protection I use. However, it seems that Samsung have disabled the ability to have multiple lockscreens and add other widgets to it.
Is there any way around this without rooting my device, which I really don't want to do?
Thanks in advance.

Here is how, but maybe not the solution that you need
Hi! I found that in order to get lock screen widgets to work on a Galaxy S3 you need to unprotect your lock screen by selecting SWIPE as the security screen lock (pattern, password, or PIN protection will disable third party lock screens.) Once you have set the security screen lock to SWIPE you will see the options for third party lock screen widgets.
It is a real shame that Samsung is restricting us from using third party lock screen widgets while using a true security screen lock option.
I hope that this helps.

Well, can you then tell me how to do it? Because as soon as I use any security screen lock other than swipe, all lock screen widgets options disappear and swiping from the left on the lock screen stops working too, so no widgets can be added. Just in case, I am using the TMO flavor of the Galaxy S3.

Multiple lock screens

I have the galaxy S5 running 4.2.2
I hate having the phone wake up in my pocket after unlocking with either fingerprint or pin.
The phone is set to lock after 5 minutes of inactivity - but if bumped in the pocket, the phone wakes up without the swipe lock screen.
Is it possible to use a combination of two lock screen types?

[Q] How to remove remove slide to unlock screen with finger print unlock?

The method with slide to unlock is redundant and annoying. How to remove slide to unlock?
I'm in the same boat.. every time I try to turn on fingerprint unlock, I still have to slide to unlock.. I'm missing something here..
I don't get it. When you have finger print as your unlock method there is no slide to unlock. They are mutually exclusive, you can't have both.

I have experienced the Slide to Unlock screen when I have a paired bluetooth device that I have listed as trusted. I think this is what these guys are talking about, and it is annoying. I wish it would just unlock to the home screen.
I think you should upgrade to latest firmware, i never got slide to unlock screen when i use finger screen function!
Look attachment!

Slide to unlock shows when you use the smartlock feature to keep your phone unlocked. It's there to prevent you from butt dialing someone.
Go to secure lock settng > secure lock time and set it to instant.
That way every time u lock your phone it will ask for finger print and will unlock right away

This man probably has it, your phone will not go to the lockscreen when fingerprint security is checked unless you enabled trusted devices and are near one. It should in that case simply go to the home screen as it does on most devices when similar schemes are enabled but it instead switches to swipe to unlock making the whole thing not only pointless but more work then never enabling trusted devices at all.
Its either a bug or stupidity, hopefully they get it changed.
Make sure you don't have any trusted bluetooth devices set up. If you do, you'll always have to swipe whether fingerprint authentication is enabled or not.
Aha!

Ha- that actually does work as a workaround, but sorry... What I want (and think OP is after) is to just turn off the swipe.
If the phone if unlocked, show me the home screen.
I want to take the risk of the buttdial!
Use case- pick up unlocked phone, press the side button, see home screen. Not swipe to get to home screen.
Don't know if that's a feature request or a rant or just a bit of both.

I tried to use No Lock Home module for Xposed instead of built in Smart Lock. But it doesn't eliminate Swipe to Unlock either.
I had my S6 set up to just require a pattern to unlock. Worked fine for the first 6 months I owned it. But since I allowed Samsung to upgrade my software, a swipe is needed before it will allow a pattern unlock. This happened to my wife's phone too. Thanks for the ****ing annoying "upgrade" Samsung.

Facial Recogintion

With Facial Recogintion enabled, can the phone unlock it self without any further intevention such as pulling up the screen etc? and just show the home screen?

Yes it can, and also the way you didn't like it's your choice!
In Face Recognition settings select the option for Direct Unlock.
Any option to add 2 faces instead of just 1?
You get the option for an "alternate look" (possibly only in later builds, I can't remember) but don't know if that will work for a second, different face.

Updated replacement (insurance) phone upon receiving. Gesture unlock no longer option

So my S9+ took a tumble and was unresponsive. Luckily, I had insurance. So when I received the new device, I set it up, let everything restore that was available for restoration, and took the latest update (screenshot attached). Now my absolute favorite way to unlock a phone out of all the phones I've owned, was the gesture unlock. Not pattern, gesture. What am I missing here? I can't believe they would remove this amazing feature, so I must be missing something. Thank you!!
Anyone?
Gesture unlock as in the option for "swype" as a lock screen type?
Swype for unlocking the phone is present on my phone (G965U). If your using a 3rd party lock screen try disabling or removing it. If you have some sort of app/configuration that requires secure lock it might have disabled swype to unlock.
Otherwise maybe try factory data resetting the phone or else reflashing the update using odin?
No, not swipe to unlock, that's still available. Does no one remember gesture unlock? Like mine was up down up down up down left. Just swipe those gestures to unlock. How does nobody remember this?? Gf confirms btw, so I know I'm not crazy lmao

Gesture (singluar) unlock as I remember it was simply swiping your finger up the screen to unlock it. What your describing sounds more like a pattern unlock method.. Where multiple swipes in a specific manner will unlock the screen.
Looking on my phone there is a pattern unlock option. Is this option present on your lock screen > screen lock type settings?
** Edit - Never mind, the previous poster found the setting in question.
