Hello,
I've scoured these Forums looking for an answer as to whether the VisualLand Prestige Connect 7L can get the Google App Store, even though it comes vanilla with the (really, really bad) Amazon one. I've got it rooted, and tried to run the included Google Play install script. However, it seemed to be made specifically for Allwinner A10 tablets.
In short, I've got two questions:
1. Will this Allwinner A10 script work with the VisualLand Prestige Connect 7L?
2. If not, is there another way I can get the Google Play appstore on my tablet?
Specs:
Android 4.0.4
Kernel v. 3.0.8+ [email protected] #48
Othinolis: if' you're still looking:
1) The claim is that some people have run it successfully, but that same script seems to have royally screwed my 7L. I'd recommend against it.
2) Have a look at: http://www.tabletroms.com/forums/visual-land-tablets/5363-visual-land-tablets-google-play.html

Hi guys,
I have recently been given a disgo 8100 which is a nice tablet but only runs android 2.3. I have seen there is a guide on how to root this tablet and load the play store which is great but, I can't seem to find anything about this device in the way of if it is a rebrand of another tablet, or if it's internals are compatible with any unofficial cyanogenmod ports.
I would love to get this thing up to ics or even jelly bean, but after searching google for a couple hours I cant seem to find the answers. So, if this tablet is not supported anywhere with custom Roms, how would one begin to port ics? I have 2 boards that work for this device so I can experiment.
Once I have root, where should I turn? There is an update for the device on the disgo website which can be downloaded, would that be a decent place to start porting?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,
I just bought an ACER Iconia A1-830 in China and have no Google Play installed (or whatever google application needs to be there to authentify me and allow me to download apps from Google Play). By going through the posts it appears that this is normal for products in China, which I was not aware of.
Here are the specs (not sure that they are all useful for my problem).
Android version: 4.2.2
IAFW version: F9.E3
Kernel version: 3.4.34
Image version: Acer_AV052_A1-830_RV06Rc03_GC_GEN1
I heard that we can root and re-install with the proper packages. But I do not know how to root or get the proper packages… :/
Would somebody be able to help me out here ?
Thanks so much.
Hello, and thanks to all who take the time to read this and offer their support.
To everyone else... just hello.
Okay.
I have a few of those cheap Chinese 7" tablets so common on e-Bay these days. For the price, most of these are okay and seem to run fairly well "as-is" without having to spend a lot of time rooting them or installing CFW. This one however is just a little bit different.
Here's the deal... The tablet I'm going to be addressing in this thread has a ROM that was not customized for the retailer very well. The particular combination of apps and services it has causes the tablet to perform horribly. I'd really like to change this. The problem is however that because there are so many of these around these days, many of these generic units have not been "developed." Because of this, rooting these devices or replacing the ROM's is often very difficult if not downright impossible. At times, even identifying the specifics of the hardware. This tablet is one of those.
I've tried just about everything I can think of to simply modify the ROM it has in a way that would make it work better, but there are a few apps installed that are locked and impossible to modify or remove. I've come to the conclusion at this point that if possible, installing a custom ROM is going to be the only way to "fix" it. I have been able to root the device, but I have not been able to replace the recovery app , nor have I been able to identify a ROM that might be able to be installed once I do.
What I need from you folks.
If I supply every scrap of information I can come up with about this tablet, would someone please be willing to tell me which ROM just might work, and how I can use the recovery app that's installed to install it? If so, thank you.
Here's the information.
Options available in the installed recovery app.
A. Apply update from ADB
B. Apply update from external storage.
C. Apply update from cache.
Here's the tablet information.

Hi there,
two years ago I got an Tablet named Archos 70b copper.
From the beginning I wondered why it is so slow - even
my older Samsung Galaxy 10.1 n was faster than this tablet.
Well, I found a way to use it as a display for my surveilance
cameras and to control my smart home devices.
Now I want to take a little more use out of it, for example
I want to control more devices and so on.
During my search for information in the web I read some
posts about flashed Archos devices which were much
faster after flashing it with a foreign firmware. So I
tried to find out, what alternate firmware would run
on my 70b Copper.
But after a lot of reasearch I just found postings for
the Archos 70b ebook reader and so on but nothing
for my device.
Finally I got here, did a search and found... nothing.
So I decided to ask for help.
Can anyone tell me, what foreign firmware would
run on my device give me some support for the
flashing process?
My target is to run just programs which are absolutely
necessary for my usage. I dont need those **** like
Google Video, Google Movies, Gallery, my pictures,
Gmail, Google drive, Hangouts and all the other things
which are installed with android.
Here is the information for my tablet:
Model: AC70BCV
Device: archos 70b Copper
Android Version. 4.4.2
Baseband Version: MOLY.WR8W1315.MD.WG.MP.V72, 2015/01/03 14:56
Kernel Version: 3.4.67 [email protected] #2 Tue Sep. 29 09:14:01 CST 2015
Build- Nummer: [email protected]
Oh and last but not least, I would prefer German language assistance.
Thx.

Hi, I have an Android tablet my dad found out during a spring clean and want to use it for my son. There's no branding on it and in the about screen it shows the model as W709. I'm going to say it's a Chinese generic thing and it seems like they've used an unofficial version of Android as no Google apps works and the Android OS cannot be updated etc.
Kernel version is 3.10.54 & build number is W709_20150807 & the CPU appears to be an Allwinner A31s.
I haven't used Android myself since 2014 so I'm a bit out of touch with it, can anyone help point me towards a ROM I can use (Lollipop would be fine) where I can use the app store to put Youtube etc on it for my son?
