Hello,
I just bought an ACER Iconia A1-830 in China and have no Google Play installed (or whatever google application needs to be there to authentify me and allow me to download apps from Google Play). By going through the posts it appears that this is normal for products in China, which I was not aware of.
Here are the specs (not sure that they are all useful for my problem).
Android version: 4.2.2
IAFW version: F9.E3
Kernel version: 3.4.34
Image version: Acer_AV052_A1-830_RV06Rc03_GC_GEN1
I heard that we can root and re-install with the proper packages. But I do not know how to root or get the proper packages… :/
Would somebody be able to help me out here ?
Thanks so much.

Hello,
I've scoured these Forums looking for an answer as to whether the VisualLand Prestige Connect 7L can get the Google App Store, even though it comes vanilla with the (really, really bad) Amazon one. I've got it rooted, and tried to run the included Google Play install script. However, it seemed to be made specifically for Allwinner A10 tablets.
In short, I've got two questions:
1. Will this Allwinner A10 script work with the VisualLand Prestige Connect 7L?
2. If not, is there another way I can get the Google Play appstore on my tablet?
Specs:
Android 4.0.4
Kernel v. 3.0.8+ [email protected] #48
Othinolis: if' you're still looking:
1) The claim is that some people have run it successfully, but that same script seems to have royally screwed my 7L. I'd recommend against it.
2) Have a look at: http://www.tabletroms.com/forums/visual-land-tablets/5363-visual-land-tablets-google-play.html
Hello, and thanks to all who take the time to read this and offer their support.
To everyone else... just hello.
Okay.
I have a few of those cheap Chinese 7" tablets so common on e-Bay these days. For the price, most of these are okay and seem to run fairly well "as-is" without having to spend a lot of time rooting them or installing CFW. This one however is just a little bit different.
Here's the deal... The tablet I'm going to be addressing in this thread has a ROM that was not customized for the retailer very well. The particular combination of apps and services it has causes the tablet to perform horribly. I'd really like to change this. The problem is however that because there are so many of these around these days, many of these generic units have not been "developed." Because of this, rooting these devices or replacing the ROM's is often very difficult if not downright impossible. At times, even identifying the specifics of the hardware. This tablet is one of those.
I've tried just about everything I can think of to simply modify the ROM it has in a way that would make it work better, but there are a few apps installed that are locked and impossible to modify or remove. I've come to the conclusion at this point that if possible, installing a custom ROM is going to be the only way to "fix" it. I have been able to root the device, but I have not been able to replace the recovery app , nor have I been able to identify a ROM that might be able to be installed once I do.
What I need from you folks.
If I supply every scrap of information I can come up with about this tablet, would someone please be willing to tell me which ROM just might work, and how I can use the recovery app that's installed to install it? If so, thank you.
Here's the information.
Options available in the installed recovery app.
A. Apply update from ADB
B. Apply update from external storage.
C. Apply update from cache.
Here's the tablet information.
Brand: ZTO
Model: N1 PLUS (Generic Chinese 7" tablet)
Android version: 4.1.1
Baseband version: v0.4rc3
Kernal version: 3.0.8+
Build number: N1 PLUS_wifi-7601_V4.1.1 JR003C 20131202
And again, Thank you.
Hi all,
[specs below]
This issue seems quite unique on XDA for my phone and have kept me days (and nights). My question is simple:
Is there any solution or workaround for the folllowing problem:
All apps on my phone only with a Chinese version of Amigo UI. This cannot be changed into English. Google Services (Gapps, Play Store) is unable to run on the phone. Downloads and Updates are part of the Chinese Amigo UI.
What I already have done?
Framaroot;
Custom Root from needrom.com (not rooted) installed from SD Card;
Factory Reset.
Thanks in advance for any input or help. Alternatively, can someone direct me to the proper forum/website/youtube video or if necessary a Wizard
Android Version: 4.4.2
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-svn2313
Build number: SV1.5
System Version: amigo2.0.5 (GN715 Release Version)
Anyone?
GN715 is V6L: http://androidxda.com/download-gionee-stock-rom-models
Which Stock Firmware to download?
Thank you for your reply.
Can someone clarify on which file to download. There are 2 options on the link xdafirmware.com/gionee-v6l
1. Gionee 6L_0306-T58711.zip
2. Gionee 6L_0306-T5827.zip
What is the difference?
Thanks
I bought Android Multimedia system for my car:
Model: MGCOL1
Ver: 4.4.2
Ver: MPSS.TR.1.0-01780-M8626AAAAANAZM
Core Ver: 3.4.0 - [email protected] #1
Build: msm8226-userdebug 4.4.2 KVT49L eng.fengxunyi.20150828.144551 test-keys
But is seems that the Android is blocked: no file explorer, no browser, no Google Play Store and no Developer options for adb (I have tried to click on the Build Number and nothing happened).
How can I unblock it? I want to install some apps but I don't know how.
I have the same problem. The local dealer put a minimal Android 4.4.2 on the device. I believe it is made by Flyvideo. I cannot even update the few apps there are on the device, because there is no Play store.
They claim it was done on Google's demand, to avoid people using things they should not use while driving (like texting, surfing, watching videos etc.) But I would love to update my Waze app to the latest version, or get a better Internet radio than the one installed.
I don't believe that is "Google's demand" because there are open multimedia system (you can see a lot in Youtube).
To unlock the system we need to install File Explorer or Browser.
I have an access to WebView control with Google, but WebView control, as I saw, doesn't support file download/upload and not support to load/open local files.
I hope that someone here can give us an advice of how to unlock that system.
Hello,
I have the same problem Did someone manage to solve this?
ever solved this issue?

Click to collapse
Also, have you tried custom device drivers (for windows) like PdaNet ?

Hi all, I have the same problem on Hyundai I30 ..
anyone have better news now?
Hi, I have an Android tablet my dad found out during a spring clean and want to use it for my son. There's no branding on it and in the about screen it shows the model as W709. I'm going to say it's a Chinese generic thing and it seems like they've used an unofficial version of Android as no Google apps works and the Android OS cannot be updated etc.
Kernel version is 3.10.54 & build number is W709_20150807 & the CPU appears to be an Allwinner A31s.
I haven't used Android myself since 2014 so I'm a bit out of touch with it, can anyone help point me towards a ROM I can use (Lollipop would be fine) where I can use the app store to put Youtube etc on it for my son?
