Help please. What can i do?

Some Users here in Germany had the same issue. Try to clean the Chip on the Sim carefully. If that don't work call your carrier for an new sim.

i did it and try sim of another operator - no result yet. All features work except GSM. May be phone locked? How I can know it?

I have the same problem on a latam razr, I couldn't find any definitive solution, what I do every time it happens is dial *#*#4636#*#* enter phone info and select *cdma* radio mode, as the phone doesn't have cdma hardware the process com.android.phone crashes and when it inits again It gets working done again, I hate it but just got used to it
Enviado desde mi XT910 usando Tapatalk 2
well, after six months doing the same I got sick and put hands on it to solve it, after some random empirical tests I came to the conclusion that the sim slot doesn't held the sim card tight enough and It caused the whole thing, so after trying some bizarre solutions I finally got It permanent solved by: removing the back kevlar case and the battery, outside of where the sim card slot is supposed to be there was a little hole with a tiny piece of metal inside (which I guessed was the *thing* that presses the sim card against the pins) and carefully took a tiny plain screwdriver to push it a little more, after that It never happened again (passed a couple of weeks before posting) .
I was lucky enough to have not broken it and actually solved my problem, but I do not encourage anybody and I'm not responsible for any damage after trying the method above.
PS. I risked myself because I don't have warranty and the country where I live has no Motorola offices (nor even authorized distributor) hence no option of a professional look at the problem, they should be 1st option.

Rogers XT910 No signal or emergency only
I recently bought a Motorola Razr xt910 that was supposedly unlocked, pretty sure its from Rogers, using a Rogers sim in it. It is not rooted.
The first day I had it, it worked fine, but since then, I haven't been able to recieve texts or calls. I cannot call out, it just sits there not ringing on either end. When someone calls me it just goes to unavailable.
When I try texting, I usually have to send a message twice before it will work, and incoming texts, if they come through at all, come in late in groups.
Data does not seem to work either.
All of this is occuring even when it recognizes the sim card, with "Rogers" in the top left, and usually showing 3-4 bars while in my apartment, but it will randomly go to the little red triangle with the + symbol in it and say emergency only.
I have tested my sim in other phones, including a European unlocked phone bought from ebay, as well as my older Sony xperia Arc, and it all works, just not the Razr.
I have tried searching online but nothing I try works.
Can someone please help, as I cannot afford to buy another phone at this time, thanks in advance.

You came to the right thread, your problem is exactly the same as the ones listed above, did you try any of the above given solutions?

Ive tried just about everything except taking the phone apart. and after going into the *#*#4636#*#* menu, under phone information, im not sure which to set it to, CDMA does the same thing as the poster above, saying process has stopped, and in the information on that page is says "GSM service: emergency calls only"
I just got off the phone with Rogers as well, which they said they would try resetting my account, but that appears to have done nothing.
I'm not confident enough to try flashing a new rom to see if that works either.

It's a hardware/microSIM issue, the only things that could possible fix It the easy way are cleaning the sim with "isopropilic alcohol" (¿?) or using another microSim, You said you got it from rogers, so if those options doesn't work then you rightfully can claim the warranty to get It fixed or replaced by yor carrier.
If else fails or is not possible I can post photos of the "hard way" that did work for me, at your own risk of course.
In my case i guessed it was the sim compartiment being loose because I got that issue not only but more often after phone accidentally falling to the floor (good-quality hybrid hard-soft case so it just bounce) or after very sudden moves; after then I purposedly tried letting it straight fall to a bed, being careful it didn't went to the floor, and the issue appeared every 2-3 tries.

Radio GA GA - Help!

Hi Folks,
I was having the issue with my Vario II (on my 3rd Handset) where the phone enters standby and never wakes up until a soft reset.
When the 3rd handset arrived I decided to bite the bullet and go for WM Black and see if it made the handset any better. Unfortunately, as good as the new ROM (now on V2) is, it didnt solve my hanging issue.
The next thing I decided to do was change the radio ROM. I first went to the 1.38.10 and then to 1.38.11 and then to 1.27.00, as the later was decribed as being the most stable.
As you have probably guessed by now, the issue still plagues me....Even more so since the radio upgrades. The symptoms are as follows;
- Some calls I answer go silent after around 30 secs and I need to soft reset
- The phone can show full bars of signal but the phone diverts to answering machine
- When connecting to the internet, the icons shows as connecting but then drops to no signal (showing a !) then after a while will start to reconnect. Sometimes I need to soft reset to get the connection again
I am wondering if there is something else I am missing that could be causing the issue. I am using it today with no apps and still have the same issues as above plus the freezing issue.
Is there anything else I can change???? or am I just cursed?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers and thanks in advance
Aidan
I would say, try your SIM card in a TOTALLY different phone (not just a different Hermes) As you would have to be fairly unlucky for it to happen with THREE seperate devices, especially with different ROMs also.
If there is a handset available to you that is either a tmobile or SIM unlocked.....give it a go.

I belive it's your SIM card also..ask your provider to replae the SIM card for you. Just tell them your issues and it happened to three handset with the same SIM. I bet they will able to replace the SIM card without charge.

Yep SIM cards cost JACK ALL to the providers. If they do charge you then thats gotta ring alarm bells!!!
Hanging on wake-up was my big disappointment when going from Vario I to Vario II.
It decreased after upgrading to WM6 (first black 1.2, now black 2.0). In my case the SPB mobile shell also did not seem to do the problem any good, probably because it starts the 'now' screen on wake-up.
I have not much software on my device and have very few hanging issues.
I work for a Cingular retailer, and I just signed my fathers business up. Someone had told me that the IMEI on the account had to match the phone on a 3g phone or the exact same symptoms you are seeing would occur. I confirmed it with my pop's business. the three people using 3g phones had serious problems with calls going to VM, not getting txts, and poor service in general. Once i fixed the serial numbers Cingular-side, everything was peachy. This happens to be my first post (longtimelurker) so if I'm full of ****, feel free to tell me. Check with your service provider and make sure they have the right IMEI on file. If not, you'll prolly have to go to a store to have a clerk fix it, but it'll be worth your trip if im right .
Hope I helped.

I don't think IMEI is the issue here. I just signed up with Cingular and got a Motorola K1..but the SIM is a 3G sim. I simply pop that into my Hermes and it's been working for 2 month now without any issues. Another thing with Cingular...the IMEI on their database is automatically updated..it's not like you have a Motorola phone and switched the SIM to a SonyEricsson phone and still using the Motorola IMEI #....it will not work that way. In fact, all GSM providers will automatically update the IMEI in their system once the SIM is registered in their network. I can confirm that with my HTC tytn with the Cingular's online account. You can check the online account pretty much on what type of phone you current have. If I use the Motorola K1, the online account will be updated as unknow phone due to it's new I guess...but when I use the HTC tytn..it's automaticlly updated as HTC 8525...even I manually change the phone type to other phone...after couple minutes..I log back on and it will show the HTC 8525 again. Base on this, I am sure IMEI is not the issue here. One thing to note is that I did get that hanging on wake up when I have the SPB software installed.
i can concur about the IMEI... i havent changed my IMEI on my account since i had a sony ericsson a few years back... and i have no data problems.. i take that back, i had some when i first got the 8525, but then found out i needed the white 3G sim, since then it has been flawless.
Awaiting Sim
Thanks for all the advice. I tried the phone with someone elses sim card the other day and it seemed to behave itself. I am going to phone t-mobile and ask them for a replacement SIM.
Will let you know how I get on.

AGGGHHHH!
It doesnt get any better....
I just phoned T-Mobile and asked them for a replacement SIM to be sent out. The girl I spoke to said that she could order me a new SIM which would be out in between 1-3 days but she would have to disconnect my current SIM when the new one was despatched! This means no phone for this time, which I need for business
I asked whether I could phone for activation when the new SIM arrived but this she tells me is not possible.......AGGGGHHH!
She did suggest that I could pay 15quid for an 'interactive' swap over at a T-Mobile store but I have issues getting to a store during the week and they are then going to see that VM6 Black edition is on the phone!
Any suggestions?

What the hell?!?! Thats bullcrap if ive ever heard it, when i got a replacment USIM from O2 my existing one worked until i called O2 to activate the new one? Maybe T-Mobile has a backwards way of provisioning them?! That sucks dude. Suggest you call them again (if you havent already got an order through) and do another request...you may hit the jackpot with a different operator?!

As far as I understand how GSM works...The T-Mobile lady is correct. You can't have the two SIMs having the same #, one has to be deactivated before the new one is active. But if you are sure the new SIM will get to you in a day or two, you can have them to schedule deactivation of the old SIM two days later, schedule the new SIM to be active in two days..the only donw time you have is probably a an hour or two if the timing is correct. If you are able to go to a T-mobile store for direct swap, you can get the new SIM working within an hour but they shouldn't be charging you $15 at the store even you have WM6 black on the phone becasue the phone is not faulty, the faulty part is the SIM and they should honor their warranty.

Agreed on the warranty there dude.
O2 simply sent out a replacment USIM, obviously not activated yet. It arrived and i called them, they took the sim card number and said I should lose reception on my existing sim (it wasnt 3G ready) and thats when i should put the new one in, as soon as i lost reception i swapped and it was working (got the U symbol straight away).
I figure T-mobile would do the same?!?!
Bit the bullet yesterday and paid 15 quid for a new SIM card. It has made he haw difference. Still got major issues. The phone has no signal most of the time and even on the rare occasions when it does, the calls go to answerphone.
The signal shows an exclamation mark (!) and the only way I can get rid of it is to do a hard reset and it works for a couple of hour (or less). It is as though it is constantly in flight mode.

Nokia Lumia 800 Constant "No Service"

Hello everyone.
Since getting a Lumia 800 I've had nothing but issues. Initially the problem was battery life (as is common, I know), which never reached more than 5 hours even on minimum usage. Then I started getting signal dropouts. So I sent it back to Nokia's UK repair centre in Thetford, thinking that they would sort it.
I got the phone back today, and the phone now will not find a network at all - I've tried multiple Microsims on different networks, with no luck. On the advice of the Nokia helpline I restored the phone to factory settings, performed both a soft and hard reset, and tinkered with the network settings app and the mobile network menu in settings.
It isn't a sim insertion error, as a different symbol shows up when no sim is inserted. The phone simply won't find a network, when I know the signal strength is very strong in my area (in fact I'm using my old phone with the same sim card and it has full strength).
It looks like I'm going to have to send it back to Nokia again, but if anyone can help me to save me having to do that it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
Try put it on 2G.
Most time 2G get better signal than 3G.

2G didn't change anything, still no service.
I'd the similar issue, the status kept showing NO NETWORK connection, but the funniest part is, I can make call, and send SMS!
The most frustrated part is, the data connection is always drop! I'm not sure is my telco issue or the phone issue!
Have you tried ringing yourself?
I know that sounds stupid but I constantly get the no signal sign but can still call, send texts and receive all, even the internet works.
I thought it was a problem with three (everyone always says they're ****) but the post above suggests not.

Yeah I'd read somewhere else about ringing/texting to wake the phone up kinda thing, but it doesn't work.
Goes straight to answerphone when I call the phone, and when I try and call out it just fails.

Nope, it's doing this to me on the o2, giffgaff and 3 sim cards I've tried.
Where did you buy it? If it was a physical store I'd take it back there and ask for them to swap it over... would be quicker than sending it to Nokia.
I have the same problem with L800. No service but... I can't call, answer or send sms and get them...(Wifi works fine) I tried many different sim cards from different operators etc. Can't take it back to the shop because I bought it used without purchase papers. It just suddenly stopped saying "no service". And when I mess with it and try search the network manually it finds them, but wont connect to any of them. And after doing that alot, it says incorrect sim or something like that.
It lets me put in the pin code and everything.
I tried searching from everywhere but no solutions yet.

Hmmm, ok it's not a simcard issue then, if you tried a lot of other simcards from different operators, did you try to clean your simcard reader maybe there is some dust or perhaps a failure that results in not reading your simcard.
Goodluck buddy,
So today I made an experiment. I live in Norway and I went to Finland. In Finland the phone worked perfectly with out any problems but as soon I got over the country line back to Norway. It said "No Service". Very strange...

Just kidding mate, it's a strange problem don't think there are a lot of differents between the gsm coverage of both countries.
The only option I can think about for now is to perform a hard reset.
If I found something usefull about this issue I let you know.

[Q] Not Registered on Network - How to fix?

Does anybody know how to fix this "error" message or why it shows up? I can't use the phone... as a phone!
I have the same issue. Even when I insert sim It says "no sim". I checked the phone lock status. But It's all unlocked. Please guys help us...........
Yesterday i had this problem too but today morning when i restarted my phone I got my phone registered to network seems like a carrier related issue. Try formatting your phone. And i also noticed that when the sim card was not placed correctly it showed me No sim card( i cut my sim using a scissor). So try placing your sim perfectly or try formatting your phone.

Hole volume up + middle key and switch on your phone. Your phone will get you into recovery mode from that menu using the volume rocker keys select format option and your phone will be hard reseted.

I had similar problems when my phone was delivered on Tuesday - cut my (Orange) SIM down to size, it worked for a while, then no network. Took it to an Orange shop, they tried their microSIMs, none worked. Arranged to have the phone replaced, but had another last play, and then my cut SIM in it started working - it would lose service intermittently, but eventually it was, and is, stable.
Mine has intermittent reception issues, ie dropping to emergency only every so often. My phone was sim-free so I figured it was because it lacks vodafone's customization.
I also cut my sim, maybe its an issue of it moving about slightly causing interrupts.

It seems that nobody knows exactly what is the fault, the part with the sim cut wrong ( it cannot be )... I have tried 2 different micro sim (factory cut) and still no difference... now I'm using my homemade the micro sim in my Galaxy S2 (without any adapters) and works perfect ( even moved around )... The Galaxy S3 is still not working! After checking with one of the guys from Phones4U, he told me that it can be a fault (hardware or software)... the best way to fix it... is replace the phone! I did not try any of the fixes from here ( so I will not make any changes to the phone - needed for the replacement - warranty )... if anyone has a good fix for this, just post it here for other people who are facing the same problem, thank you!
Your symptoms and what you've tried sounds so similar to what I had on Tuesday, also on Orange.
The guy in the Orange shop suggested to me that you'd see the same symptoms if the IMEI is reported as being lost/stolen - obviously my phone was brand new out of a sealed box, from Amazon, so this was unlikely, but it's an interesting thought if yours was second hand?
Have you managed to connect the phone via Wifi, and perform an update? This is what I did, on the off-chance it might help, as there was an update waiting. My phone did then intermittently connect to the mobile network, and gradually got more stable. It's fine now. Worth a try if you haven't already?
If your SIM card is not recognized, try this

Well, I got this problem too. And I found out that you have to push the card with a sharp object to the far left (when holding the phone with the SIM slot downwards, I shot it from the the opposite angle because of the light) inside the SIM slot for the phone to recognize your own made micro SIM. I used the SIM pin from a iPhone 4S, but I also tried with a needle and scissors, and they all worked fine.
As you can see in the picture, theres a "pin" sticking out the right (when holding the phone as described above the pin will be on the left side) Make sure that the pin "sticks out" as showed in the photo. It seems that if that pin isn't sticking out, the phone will not recognize that a SIM is inserted. I was trying for over an hour, and then I tried this and it worked at the first try.
Good advice, mistwalker, I also wondered if it was anything to do with whether it 'clicks' into position in the slot. Mine works now, so I'm not touching it again!
It has happened twice for me that it says it's not registered on network, both times i've held the power button down and deactivated the network then activated it again and it's been working.

Thank you for the advice, I have tried all so far... even updating the phone, in the last 2 hours I got stuck changing the position of the sim... I tried also a different sim... and same message comes on the screen! I will send it back to the seller and get a refund for it... the "funny" part is that I have moved the "micro sim" from S2 to S3 a few times, and the S2 has never let me down... with no micro sim adapter on it!
I think Galaxy S2 is still one of the best phones on the market... it is not so fragile as S3... and this is my second S3... the first one had to be replaced because a small accident (screen cracked after a bump in the wall)... and the bump was a light one. I admit is faster (like a "rocket"), but the "new" screen - gorilla glass 2 is fragile (like an egg)
Does anyone know how to check if the phone (IMEI) is on the blacklist? Maybe this is the "fault" from my S3... :cyclops:

Text messages won't stop coming....

Hi all, I do not know what to do anymore.
I receive the same texts multitudes of times. I have contacted Motorola, and was instructed to to a factory reset. I did the reset and the problem has not gone away. I am running ICS 4.0.4 and using the stock messaging app. I have informed Motorola that the reset did not work, but am still waiting for a reply (but to be honest, I'm not counting on a solution there).
I received 2 text messages about 28 hours ago, and they are still coming in. Currently those 2 combined have come in 197 times (and going up as I type [it's now 200 times before clicking "submit"]). Another came through today 63 times, and another 48 times. This is driving me mad. I have rebooted the phone, gone in and out of airplane mode. Turned on airplane mode, removed sim, replaced sim, turned off airplane mode. NOTHING!
I'm not sure which way to turn, so that is why I'm here now.
Please can anyway point me the right direction.

rsd lite the fastboot files and it will be like fresh out of the box for you
If that is in deed the best way, then which file?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36901171&postcount=111
it's a problem which is not solved from longggggggg time......even if u RSD the problem would creep up....best solution is to take new sim and use it......this solution was provided in moto official forum...

OK, I placed my SIM in a Galaxy S3, and 2 messages that kept coming through, came through on the S3 with my SIM in it..
Meaning it's a network/SIM problem.
If the above is true, then why would moto bother?
If Moto suggests a new sim, what would that help? It would do the same with the new SIM wouldn't it? So, is the phone screwing the SIM card up? hmmm.. Are you having the issue/did you have the issue?

SIM cards can screw up by themselves, I had had this problem some time ago, not the messages one, but my phone couldn't find networks at all. It was just once, I bought another SIM and nevermore had this problem
moto OTA updates damages sim card i mean it does something which messes up sim's functionality....like there is a flag which sends confirmation on recieval of message to server so it is assumed that msg is delivered ...but in our cases that flag is not set meaning server thinks that message is not delivered and hence keeps on sending.....so taking new sim will restore that and hence the problem is gone....SO NEXT TIME ON OTA REMOVE SIM AND UPDATE.....

If it locked once you start with non-original operator sim card it will ask you for unlock code, so you will know it's locked
do you receive sim error after airplane mode ?
Mine has a bended / broken sim reader pin and didn't recognize any sim card and after restart I got SIM error msg.
I have somewhat of a like issue. After restart takes a LONG time to connect and update the tile. Wife's phone, will state no service or emergency calls only, but she can text out AND I can always call her, so POSSIBLE the tile is not updating. Sim card replaced twice by ATT. ATT stated working on local towers for LTE upgrade, and after a whole weekend of no text coming in (able to text out)(???) all incoming test text messages (say 25) arrived at 6am on Sunday morning.
no data updating (email) while in this half-working mode. next thing I can think of is get new phone.

If the phone is the ATT model and is still locked to ATT then you obviously have an issue with the phone and should sen it in for service. There is no reason why an ATT phone and ATT SIM should have an issue on the ATT network otherwise.
I have this issue as well but only since I got it back from Nokia repairing the dust in the front camera problem. They changed the internals for some reason and now I have No Service and also now have new IME number. I contacted them and they said try a hard reset which didn't work then said I would have to send it back again for this to be repaired which when I got it back today has the same problem still. There is nothing wrong with my SIM card and have even received a new Orange one which still did the same. When I contacted Nokia they were next to useless saying I need to send it away a 3rd time (my phone was perfect before I sent it away apart from the dust in the front camera...don't I regret getting this fixed now!) which I declined and have asked to speak to the manager. I have to wait 3-4 business days for them to ring me and see what can be done. I know this is probably not much help but will let you know the outcome as it might be a setting or something I can do with the phone.
One thing I have found is Nokia Care is they are the most unhelpful company ever! Basically just suggesting I keep booking it online to be collected for repair. Once this is sorted I hope I never have to deal with them again!
At&T no Signal as well
Default AT&T Lumia 920 bought from ebay NO SIGNAL ! I flashed it but... no signal
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought this yellow Lumia 920 form USA. I live in Europe.
Unfortunately it was locked, I called AT&T and they gave me an unlock code and now it's unlocked.
I put 2 different SIMS inside but the phone shows no signal at all. It reads the SIM from inside ( services etc) but It will not lock to a signal.
When I boot it it shows an airplane mode and in 2 seconds the no signal icon. The airplane mode is disabled thought I checked enabling and disabling.
I decided to flash it to Rogers after reading all these comments here using Nokia Care Suite. It was succesful. The conversion was from RM-820 AT&T to ----> RM820 Rogers Canada.
I had the ability now to change from LTE to 3G and 2G but to no avail. The signal remained dead and it wouldn't find any signal after searching for new networks associated with my 2 sim cards that I tried.
If I flash it again to the rm-821 euro dev rom will it work ? The thing is that I can't find it nowhere to download it. Where did you guys found it from ?
Thanks
Lumia no signal
Try hard reset!!!
Permanent no signal sounds like it could be blacklisted by the networks, check the IMEI here and it should show if it's blacklisted http://www.amta.org.au/pages/amta/Check.the.Status.of.your.Handset

I had this issue with a replacement Lumia 920 that I ordered online. To fix this you will first need a t5 torx screwdriver in order to remove the two screws from the bottom of the device. Once those are out you have to pry the main body of the phone from the polycarbonate case and expose the bare backside (*giggle*). look to the upper right portion of the device for a really thin coaxial-esque cable... this is the antenna. To fix my issue I simply had to push the connector piece back into it's slot. There will be a firm but tiny click once this is properly inserted and you should now receive a signal on your 920 again. (apparently the build of the phone makes this piece pretty easy to become disconnected which is why we see a lot of this issue from various 920 owners). I hope this helps, if you need further instruction/pictures let me know.

Hi there if you can also send me some pics etc on how to do this. that would be great.
I got this wife for my wife and have it for close to 5 months and it won't work.
And she really loves the phone
thanks
G
I have this same issue, although hitting the phone on my hand or flexing the phone will cause the service to come back until its jostled again. ive tried to find a connection with the antenna but no luck,
I have the same issue too...
At first I notice that my phone became hotter in my pocket and the battery drains quicker than usual.
After that I just thought maybe it was because of the bad signal on that area.
Then I got home and facing the same thing, my 920 still got "no service".
But I notice in the full signal area, my phone still can catch the signal. And when I get into the lesser signal area, all I got is "No service"
I've handed it up to the Nokia Care. And they fix it and cost me Rp.750.000 (US$60-65).
And still I'm having the same problem :crying:
Same problem, no connection on 3g, but 2g works fine
Hi,
I am having a similar issue with my unlocked lumia 920. While using it with 2G I have no problems, I can make phone calls and the internet although slow, works. Whenever I decide to switch to 3G it can no longer connect to the internet nor can I make/receive phone calls.
The antena cable is new and the signal for 3G shows 2-5 bars (but sometimes it looses the signal. Any hints??

tnx very much for advice, i bought used lumia 920 yesterday and signal was very poor and often without reception then tried this and VOILA, there is now full 3G (H) signal in my room. When you push connector here is a smaaaaaaall *click* and thats almost sure sign it's reason for bad signal.
