[not spam] Market download problem

I've been having this problem since I first installed a custom ROM, and my little brother has had this for a while as well. Why is it that I/we cannot download larger apps from the market? The download starts fine, but cancels after a few seconds giving no error. It just aborts. I was told to format cache and delete Donwloader and Market cache but neither of those worked. What should I/we do?
Yes, I have used Google and yes, I have searched here. I didn't find any answer.

Hi, I'm on Foxhound's Revolver Ocelot ROM and I keep getting these two messages whenever I try to download anything from the Play market;
Package file is invalid & Insufficient storage available
I cannot download a single app from the Play market.
Please someone help me to resolve this, preferably without a factory reset.

Try to download apps using another network connection. Sometime it many be a temporary network issue. Also try these methods http://www.thespicygadgematics.com/2011/12/fix-android-package-file-is-invalid.html
try what MyLifeRocks10 said: "go into either the /system/app/ or /data/app/ directory and delete the odex file that has the same name as the respective .apk"
I'm trying to download Sports Car Challenge and am getting the same problems.
First it was insufficient storage space, so I rebooted, same problem. Then I unmounted sdcard, app cannot be installed in default location, so I remounted sdcard now I get package file invalid.
AAARRGGHHHH !
I've tried clearing cache of google play store but no difference.
I am running standard XWLPG firmware with CF-root.
Solved. Sort of.
I've spent two days prowling the web searching for solutions for the "package file invalid" error. My problem was that maps would not restore from a backup or install from the market. I did one of everything in an attempt to solve it, I'm pretty sure. Since it looks like the cache is simply jammed up, preventing the install of large Google apps, I used a Titanium Backup filter to list all my apps that reside on the phone rather than on the SD card. I uninstalled a few of the bigger ones (actually just three of the biggest) and then went to the market to install maps. Came through without a problem. Strangely, using Titanium again I was able to restore all those apps I'd uninstalled to make room for maps. I have no idea why that worked – it seems spatially impossible – but for now, at least, problem solved. What a total hair-puller the invalid package error is.

[Q] I can't install app in my device

Hi, I'm italian (so sorry for my english), and I own an acer liquid mini with custom rom.
I have a problem, when I try to install an application from the play store, I get an error: Not enough space on the device. But I have 100Mb of free space. I tried to solve this problem wiped cache, and it worked.
So I went to the play store, and I downloaded an app. When it finished the download, I get another error: Package files is invalid.
I tried to reflash the rom, wiped cache, wiped delvik cache, wiped all. But the error there is always.
When I try to install an .apk on my device, I get this error: "application is not installed".
Do you help me?

Your problem is the "compability" of the app. And what is the app you tried to install?
And this error "Application not installed" is normal. Try to run Logcat and see what happens!!
Have you had this issue all along or did it start happening after doing something?
Does this happen when you try to install any app or just one app specifically?
Are you installing to app to the sd card or the device memory?
I agree with Indigo. Checking the logcat message during install is your best bet at figuring our what's going on.
I prefere show you logcat tomorrow because I haven't a pc now.
The problem appeared suddenly, about two weeks after that I install the new rom.
It happens with ALL app, whatever the method with which I install them, apk too.
I usually move the app to sd, but the app that I install from play store are downloaded in the device memory.
Thank you for the answers and sorry again for my very bad english.

Invalid file package

How can I fix this. I am constantly getting invalid file package. I am on Clean ROM and I was on Mean ROM. On both ROMS I was getting that message. I cleared the cache of the play store and I still get it. I uninstalled the updates, but I keep getting the message please help.
I have this problem also. I went to the effort of flashing stock rom and unrooting to see if that works. Wiped app data also the system and dalvik cache. Still persists.
But I did stumble upon a post (can't remember where for the life of me) where you must check a init file in the system folder. Seems one of these is the culprit. Just need to re- root again to find it myself.

LuckyPatcher Installation fails with : Error- insufficient storage avilable message

My Problem:
I got the error message "insufficient storage available" and tried, as recommended some threads before, to install LuckyPatcher to remove that problem, but after download installation fails with the same error message as above.
Wiping cache didn't change anything
Has anyone an idea how to break this loop?

If you can, try installing it manually by placing the apk in /data/app/
Not sure if that will work...
Are you sure you have enough space?
Enough space is available, about 300MB according to app manager
I placed the apk to /data/app , but when trying to start again the same error message...
Edit
Got it finally fixed . Using ROM Manager I switched in Configure Apps2SD to " SD Card". Switching back to "Internal" solved the problem.
Deleted.
