Hey guys,
Does anybody who ever or being suffered from the call issue like hearing nothing from the receiver during phone calls(I am using I9305 and I know some people have the same or similar problems with me)??Sometimes it work, but sometimes it doesn't!!And the speaker works in most of the cases, whereas sometimes it also breaks down liked the receiver. Moreover,I can hear some cracks from the receiver in some cases.
I am totally freaked out because I am sure that the receiver is good (no problems with skype and wechat, and I also have checked it by using "*#0*#" when the situation happens) and it seems impossible to be solved after wiping and flashing different firmware(both by cwm and odin),and so do the modems and kernel including Perseus.
Today I found sth strange about the call issue by chance: when I lock the screen maybe for more than 5 mins, then wake it up and make a phone call soon, the receiver can't work every times. However, when I put it into use(light the screen) for more than 3 or 4 mins, and then the receiver works again during calls.
What I want to say is: maybe there are sth wrong with the cpu setting or the power management.
Any solutions or suggestions will be totally appreciated!!!
Maybe try flashing different modems? I had this problem too awhile back and flashing a modem fixed the problem.

Guys,
Just got my sgs2 yesterday. Rooted. everything was okay.
Then I wanted to set a ringtone + notification sound right.
Got into sound settings, ringtones and started to try them out.
at first there was sound and ringtones played, but then suddenly it stopped.
The speaker is dead - No sound at all. no shutdown sound, no usb connection sound, no ringer sound, no media sound.
Tried : Restart, Switching silent mode on/off, switching vibration on/off, FACTORY RESET, searching the hell out of the web to find a solution on this ...
Please help !
I'm with stock OS, phone bought in UK via clove.

Are you sure this is a hardware problem ?
p.s : It's really hard to return a product to a seller that is thousands of miles away.

We can't be sure, but what you've said indicates that something is wrong.
Have you considered a reflash with the stock Samsung firmware?
Also, given you have rooted, you might be best to use a Jig to reset the number of "non official" binaries flashed, so that it doesn't appear to have been rooted, as we all know what some places are like with rooting
A test play an MP3 file on your PC .
Transfer that to sd card then while sd card is connected try to play via pc by double click . then open my files navigate to the MP3 and play it .
jje
Well I've just reflashed the kernel (from the rooting procedure)
No go
Will try to flash the whole firmware - downloading ...
this is sooooooo frustrating !!!!!

That would be a fluke hardware issue I guess... Warranty return time, I think
Not my day ...
Thanks for the help though ..

I think the same thing happened to me.
My sound from the normal speaker worked last night before I went to bed, I plugged it in and this morning my alarm didn't wake me up.
Headphone jack works
Headset speaker works
All sounds through the back speaker are a no go.
I tried reflashing a few different firmwares and still a no go.
Sucks theres no stock Bell firmware out because I can't get warranty until it is!
Damn

Hi there,
Got the same problem with my 3 days old (or rather: new) Galaxy Note!
Regards,
I sent my phone back to Samsung and they fixed it. It isnt a complicated repair it will void your warranty tho.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
your problem is that the phone thinks that a headset or headphone is inserted..... try to use ur headset to prove this....
get the app that disable headset/headphone and all ur media sound will go to your speakers. i had this problem too and the only solution ive found was the app.... its not a hardware problem but a system bug....... goodluck
Hey, I had the same issue. Just buy a new speaker. MODULE-SPK+INT GH59-10917A. Changing that is piece of cake.
Just check a youtube for howtos. Buying one should be like below $8 on ebay.
It took me only 10 minute to fix it (and 3 days of waiting for the mail to arrive
cheers

Have you tried another ROM, restore backup etc. In short, what measures have you taken on your own to troubleshoot this problem.
- yes, the phone uses another means/ Mic when you are using loud speaker

Unfortunatly i was out of the country when it happened so i was never able to claim warranty on the phone or anything so i've had to live with it.
I have tried everything i can think of to try and fix it. Different ROMS, diferent kernals, different modems. nothing has fixed it.
One thing to note, is that when i have headphones in, the mic is fine. Would the be some trickery i could pull to make the phone always use the loudspeaker microphone, even when in handset mode.
current rom is paranoid android 1.99 w/ dorimanx kernal.
i think that lower mic is used when speaker is off , but in speaker phone it uses the the upper mic.

Sorry about that.
Your own case looks like a definite hardware issue. Too bad you are out of country but if you can still visit any Samsung service center, you might be lucky. Those guys are always very nice and helpful to customers in my country even if you are out of warranty.

I've not flashed a newer ROM to see if is that yet as its my wife's phone and I've not had time to back it up before I flash.
I have the same phone and not had this problem
I've also posted in the neat ROM thread and no one has had the same issue
So if there is two mics do you think it could be broken

Since its your woman's phone and you can't probably flash a new ROM at this moment, fine.
I'll say, let's assume it's as hardware issue.
I'll advise flash back your stock original or officially update firmware, And just send it to service center for repairs like normal warranty claim.
Good luck

ok guys still need some help with this
things ive now tried
flashed back to stock
taken phone apart and made sure the mic is plugged properly
got a new mic and swapped the over
still no joy
when in a call if i blow at the mic the other person can hear it but cant hear my voice at all
also tried this http://www.ctrlplusz.com/2011/06/fix-for-low-microphone-volume-on-the-samsung-galaxy-s-ii/
but it says that the menu is blocked
but even if that was the problem surely you would be able to hear my voice a little bit
hi
quick update
IVE TRIED EVERYTHING! ha ha
when i blow into the mic at the bottom really softly the mic still pics it up nice and loud. its like the phone can only pic up the high pitched frequencies
I recently purchased 3 Galaxy S3 phones, all of them model I9300T.
I am experiencing a very strange issue, where on some calls they are getting very poor sound quality, with severe static or scratchiness over the whole call. Sometimes there is no sound at all, and both callers only hear silence. The poor sound is not just on the call, but also the dial tone and when the caller hears the voicemail recorded message. This only happens when some numbers are dialed from those phones, and not others, and not the same numbers for each phone.
I don't even know where to start in troubleshooting this, as I can't even decide if it's a SIM card issue, a firmware issue, a hardware issue or a network issue.
All phones are running current MIUI.us (based on ICS 4.0.4) with i9300T modems for the i9300T. I have tried different modems in all handsets, which has not solved the problem. I have not tried different firmwares, I have looked for stock firmwares, but I cannot find them. I usually get my stock firmwares from XDA but I was unable to find a thread for stock firmwares for the i9300.
Has anyone seen anything like this before, or can anyone offer any advice on the matter?

Well, since you recently purcheased them, then perhaps sending it back to the service center will enlighten you.. make use of your warranty
but before sending it to the service center, do use triangleaway and flash a stock firmware.. put everything back to stock
Cheers!

Given that they are all (three of them) exhibiting the exact same problem, and given that the problem is not on all calls, I highly, highly doubt that it is a hardware issue. I'm thinking that this is a bug that is being triggered by some combination of software on my devices and network-side settings.
I'm running I9300 ROMs with I9300T modems. When I reflash stock, the problem goes away.

I see.. mmmm. Have you tried going to recovery and wiping caches and fixing permissions? It's what fixed some problems of MIUI users

I'm a fairly experienced ROMer, yes I've tried all those tricks. I've also tried other variants of MIUI. I am in the process of trying other ROMs to see which ones trigger the problem, and which ones don't.
Note that this is occurring with I9300T phones running I9300 software on a 850mhz network. I think that has something to do with it. I would like to test the issue on a 900mhz network to see if that still causes the problem to manifest, but that would require much effort to go any buy prepaid SIMs just for this test.
Now, I had this phone for about a year and a half and this issue never happned, I tried resetting ALL the data of the phone, nothing.
I tried dialing *#197328640#, but it will not let me access audio. What to do?
Maybe the mic is damaged phisically, has the device been beaten? it was submerged? Maybe it's because the phone is old.
Funny thing is that I actually replaced the mic. But the issue is still there also is there a way the access the Service audio thingie?

i read some posts some were about Jelly bean LS8 chucking this problem out.... Your not running that are you???? cant recall the fix i don't use it so did't really pay too much attention to it.
Some codes have been disabled on newer firmwares (work around for some bug or another i believe) dont have enough knowledge to tell you how to access it any other way. sorry. Maybe the LS8 fix mite help???
I have a galaxy s3 gt-i9300. i have been using it for like 4 months now. the problem occurred from yesterday. when i dial a number there is a very disturbing "buzzzz" with rhythm to the way other end speak. this only happens with the mobile network on gsm/wcdma (auto mode) or wcdma only. when i change the mobile network to gsm only that noise disappears. first i thought there was a problem in the speaker. but when i connect the headset, the noise is still there. this problem occurred to me once or twice before. but when i end the call and redialed the noise went off. but now its not solving the problem. it's always there on every call
someone please help me to solve this problem
please someone give me a solution for this it's really annoying...

if you are simunlocked, you can try another SIM an see what happens
