My PC
OS: Win 8 x64
ADB, JDK, Flashtool, Drivers(fastboot/flashtool) installed
My phone
Model: Xperia mini pro
Bootloader: Unlocked
Root: Rooted
ROM: stock .587 ics(preinstalled superuser)
Kernel: custom Rage 3.2
USB debugging on, not in MTP, Unknown source selected.
Problem: Turned on phone recognised in ADB, Flashtool. I can control(push/pull) the phone through ADB. But when connected in fastboot mode the turned off phone is not recognised by PC(USB). I tried it in Win 7 x64 too, but problem remains.
N.B: After flashing any rom through CWM, I go to setting(to developer option) and get the "USB debugging mode" pre selected(even I factory reset it) Is it customary? I think when I connect the turned off phone even enabling "USB debugging mode", it actually act as not in debugging mode (just a skeptical thought).
WTF! I connected it to PC in CWM recovery and whether the 'debugging mode' is on or off the ADB works. But in Flashtool it shows "device connected with debugging off" though it is turned on.
Try to install PdaNet program,it has some drivers.

Installed drivers in pc under
/Flashtool/drivers/Flashtool-drivers
If yes check
/Flashtool/devices/sk17i
Folder exists with loader.sin and sk17i.properties

Hello, it's my first post here at XNAdevelopers. I have a problem with my x10i: when i flashed my x10i to the 2.3.3 GB prerooted, i wanted to have xrecovery (don't know why it wasn't installed) , so i opened the flashtool and connected my x10i to the PC via USB cable, turned on USB debugging mode and after that my PC (Win7) showed me that the drivers were not installed. So the Flashtool does not detect my x10i. What should i do to get it working?
I have just installed the right drivers, please delete the theme.
did u install the correct drivers ??? and did u connect ur phone in debugging mode and applied the drivers ???
mate even i m facing same issue. help help.. and what it mean by correct drivers.. wich one shuld i install
I installed Cyanogenmod 7.1.0.1 on my Xperia Ray (ST18i). Now I want to get back to firmware with the FTF package shared in this thread.
I'm trying to flash the package using Flashtool, but software doesn't recognize my device. I select "SK17" from the list (as it was adviced somewhere in the forum), but when I plug the device with flash mode Flashtool says:
Error flashing. Aborted.
Now unplug the device and power it on
Then go to application settings
turn on Unknown Sources and Debugging
Unknown Sources and USB Debugging are turned on, I installed all USB drivers (ADB, SEMC USB, Gordon's Gate) on my PC, I also installed PC Companion and SEUS. But I still get the same error.
Please help.. How can I flash that firmware package to my device?
(Sorry for my English..)
I couldn't solve my problem yet. Any ideas? Is this about Cyanogenmod, or Flashtool?
Ihave problem with Bin4ry's root tool. it doesn't do anything, just says * daemon started successfully * and stopping here. then i tried flashtool, installed drivers from zero. when i connect my device with usb debugging to pc, flashtool says
03/026/2012 15:26:12 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
i think Bin4ry's tool thinks same letters with flashtool. what can i do?

I rooted my Sola using Flashtool v0.9.6.0. Works perfectly for me.
Download the flashtool from here and root it. Make sure you are in MSC mode too.

Help!
Same problem with my Xperia U too ....
Any way to have usb debug "on" ?
(Of course I have usb debugging enabled in menu, confirmed in the notification bar ...)
Update to ver 10 ( flashtool)
sent via mighty SOLA running eXperience on CM9!!
I have the exact same problem. I tried everything and nothing works. Any idea?
try to make a factory data reset and try to turn it on
or try try to flash the ics rom again
if nothing work you need to be an unlocked bootloader user
or if you tried to root with restore while you are opening the flash tool it wont work cuz the root with restore makes any rooting programe not work
Hello everyone,
Yesterday I have bricked my Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo (MT15i, Stock ICS .431 kernel). I was ready to install a custom ROM from CWM, I wiped the battery status, I made a factory reset, then I tried to install the ROM from SD card, but the ROM wasn't there because I am dumb and I forgot to put it in SD. So I restarted my phone and discovered that my phone was bricked.
It freeze at Sony logo (it doesn't make a bootloop) and I can't enter in CWM. It was not the first time when I bricked my phone, so I knew that I have to reflash the original kernel. I opened FlashTool but it says it needs the drivers installed, so I installed them from Flashtool/drivers folder but I get the same message. I tried to install also the adb drivers and the drivers from Sony's site but nothing changes.
The problem is that I can't use flashtool.
Some aditional informations:
- my phone was rooted ;
- my phone had the bootloader unlocked ;
- my phone was running the Stock Android ICS firmware (.431) ;
- my phone was rooted and bootloader-unlocked from the same PC, but a different OS ;
- the adb drivers were not installed on my current PC (I have reinstalled Windows so I don't have the drivers installed) ;
Is there any solution for me to unbrick my Xperia Neo?
I couldn't find any way to unbrick it.
I put some screenshots to see what I see.
Since you have unlocked bootloader you can flash a kernel so that you will get cwm back... From there install rom you wanted...
Or try using flashtool from a different computer...

R: [Q] I can't use Flashtool to unbrick my Xperia Neo
If you have done what you have writtten it should be not bricked, just phone cannot load system because you have erased it with factory reset.
So now if you have bl unlocked the fastesr way is to get a kernel with cwm inside to install a rom compatible with that kernel (try suave v6 or lupus or night elf for ICS). To flash kernel you have to get fastboot drivers then use flashtool or command line.
The other way is to flash a whole stock firmware with flashtool in flash mode, then do what you want.
The flashtool problem seems to be missing drivers, so my hints are:
-try to change usb port
-try to change usb cable
-try to reinstall flashtool flashing drivers (you should find it into flashtool folders, if you can't then search over the internet)
-try to reinstall fastboot drivers (when you have drivers you need to disable windows driver signature check to install it, search the internet how).
Are you trying to flash a firmware connecting phone in fastboot mode (blue light)? If so you are wrong, to flash a firmware you need to enter in flash mode (green light). I'm saying this because I see S1tool driver in windows and that is shown (as I know) when you connect phone in fastboot mode.
If this is not working I don't know how to help you.

Thanks man, I really really wouldn't understand how to fix my phone without your help
Here is what I did and what happened:
1) I installed the following drivers from Flashtool/drivers/Flashtool-drivers.exe
- Sony Ericsson Xperia arc, neo etc. ;
- Flashmode Drivers ;
- Fastboot Drivers ;
2) I chose "MT15_4.1.B.0.431_Global.ftf", the stock ICS kernel from Sony ;
Connected in flashmode (GREEN LED) ;
Windows updated automatically S1Fastboot ;
Flashing failed!
3) Chose "MT15_4.1.B.0.431_Global.ftf" (the same kernel) ;
Connected in flashmode (GREEN LED) ;
Flashing succeeded!
4) Boot up - finaly see the XPERIA logo.
I solved it in 10-15 minutes, the first boot took like 3 minutes. So simple!
The flashmode and fastboot drivers were missing.
I lost my root and I have relocked my bootloader during this but it's not a big deal, I can anytime get them back. Also I had a ROM backup in SD card, made with CWM, so I can get them back.
Hope someone with the same problem will see!
Thanks again Bertellio!

There is no "best ROM", Its very much subjective, to what you need and what you dont. Check out different ROMs and decide for yourself.
